Chapter 238 - Chapter 238: On Deathbed, I Realized I Was the Imperial Power All Along

First Emperor-class Flagship Prototype - Ying Zheng.

This was the core of the East Asian Federation's South Heavenly Gate Project, even when it existed only on paper.

It had already been designated as the next-generation flagship for the East Asian Federation's space fleet.

Adhering to the principle of firepower supremacy, it could be said to embody the concept of "big guns and large ships" to the extreme.

With an overall length of 398 meters, width of 171 meters, height of 129 meters, and weighing 88,500 tons.

The prototype First Emperor-class flagship immediately claimed the title of behemoth in human space battleship history upon its debut.

It would long hold this honor until the appearance of the Coordinators' 1,200-meter-long carrier.

Of course, even when the Coordinators' battleship from World War II was eventually built,

who knew what kind of marvel the East Asian Army would create by then.

Setting aside future developments, the current First Emperor-class prototype wasn't just about having a massive hull.

As something that embodied big guns and large ships to the extreme, its weapon systems were naturally extensive.

Five twin-mounted Positron Cannons, four single-base high-energy Beam main guns, four Gottfried Mk-71 secondary cannons.

Two 8-cell anti-air defense missile launchers "Hell Dart", twelve twin-mounted laser anti-air turrets, and twenty-four 12-cell multi-purpose large anti-ship missile launchers.

Anyone seeing this level of armament would give a thumbs up if they knew their stuff.

And exclaim: "Incredible!"

Wait, something seems off?

Isn't this supposed to be the era where Mobile Suits reign supreme?

The East Asian Army created this fully-armed battleship without reserving space to carry even one Mobile Suit?

Perhaps...

But don't be too quick to secretly rejoice, thinking this is just a pretty but useless battleship.

Remember, this is the First Emperor-class flagship prototype.

Its construction began long before ZAFT Forces deployed Mobile Suits, so such configuration is understandable.

The manufacturer, East Asian Alliance, simply couldn't be bothered to spend time modifying the ship's internal structure.

Because the wealthy East Asian Alliance was already laying new keels in shipyards for the complete version of the First Emperor-class flagship, Ying Zheng.

This earlier ship was essentially deployed to collect weapon performance data.

Moreover, the East Asian Army's current plan for this ship was to serve as the main firepower point operating with large fleets.

And since it's meant for large fleets, it naturally wouldn't be operating alone!

The Wu'an-class First-class High-performance Space Combat Heavy Cruiser was actually the East Asian Army's general-purpose main warship built for current battlefield conditions.

This class of ship offered excellent performance, balancing powerful naval artillery firepower with strong Mobile Suit operational capabilities.

It achieved equilibrium between artillery firepower and Mobile Suit deployment capacity.

Measuring 354 meters in length, 138 meters in width, and 84 meters in height.

With light displacement of 41,500 tons and full load displacement of 58,000 tons.

Under normal conditions, the ship could carry 12 Mobile Suits for combat and maintenance, with emergency overload capacity for up to 18 Mobile Suits.

In terms of armament, it is equipped with four high-power beam main cannons, symmetrically installed on the upper and lower sides of the MS Hangar.

On the sides of the thrusters, there are two positron cannons installed similarly to those on the Kusanagi.

The secondary weapons are four single-mounted 100MM high-energy beam cannons, the Gottfried Mk-71.

Other anti-aircraft firepower will not be elaborated on here.

It is worth noting that the East Asian Army designers, taking into account the fatal flaws of the current main battleships of the Allied Forces on the battlefield, innovatively designed this type of ship with the feature of separable thrusters and the main hull.

This significantly enhances the survivability of this type of battleship in combat.

Thus, it is equipped with above-average armor protection, extremely strong artillery combat capabilities, high speed, long endurance, and high self-sustainability.

The East Asian Wuan-class Heavy Cruiser is currently the most balanced and stable powerful battleship among the many ships on the present and future battlefields.

After the Wuan-class battleships officially entered combat and underwent the trials of fire and steel on the battlefield, they were universally recognized by all components of the Allied Forces, the opposing ZAFT Forces, and other adversaries as a high-performance and powerful battleship.

Having discussed the two aforementioned cutting-edge East Asian vessels, including the Zhu Long previously assigned to Wang Hu, it is clear that East Asian designers do not focus solely on large ships. As the saying goes, red flowers need green leaves to set them off.

The Tongwu-class Space Destroyer naturally serves as the green leaves to complement the red flowers.

This type of ship has an overall length of 212m, a width of 62.2m, and a height of 71.4m.

Its normal load tonnage is 12,100 tons, with a full load of 22,000 tons.

In terms of weaponry, it is undoubtedly superior to the current mainstream Drake-class Frigate of the Allied Forces.

Compared to the former, it can better provide anti-aircraft firepower for the fleet itself and serve as supplementary combat power for Mobile Suits.

Although it may not be as eye-catching as the First Emperor-class Flagship prototype or the Wuan-class Space Heavy Cruiser, nor as versatile as Wang Hu's Uprising Army Zhu Long, the more unassuming a warrior appears, the more likely it is to become the backbone of an army.

If one truly underestimates this type of ship, they should prepare to weep in regret after suffering the consequences.

In terms of fleet configuration, the East Asian Army's General Staff has conducted rigorous and meticulous deliberation.

In subsequent local battlefields, a standard task force typically consists of three Wuan-class Heavy Cruisers paired with five Tongwu-class Space Destroyers.

Depending on the need, multiple task forces may be combined into a main fleet, temporarily supplemented by First Emperor-class Flagships and various functional ship types.

This ensures that, both in quantity and quality, the fleet lives up to the formidable reputation of the East Asian Federation!

"Representative of the East Asian Federation."

With solemn respect, his posture could not possibly be any straighter.

Staring at the tablet screen handed to him by his assistant, the speaker was the same representative who had earlier proposed revoking the East Asian Federation's status as a senior member.

Operating within the sphere of influence of the Atlantic Federation, this representative could no longer concern himself with whether his actions would completely offend the Atlantic Federation.

The newly revealed strength of the East Asian Space Fleet in space, with its vast and mighty deployment, was preparing to launch an assault on the enemy ZAFT Forces' Boaz Fortress.

Like a crushing weight of Mount Tai, it bore down heavily on his heart, and upon the pitiful small nation he represented.

A massive, suffocating fleet; various types of independently developed Mobile Suits with proprietary technology; intelligent unmanned assault weapons.

And most crucially, the pollution-free, readily deployable Goddess of Love.

Any single one of these, taken alone, would spell catastrophic disaster for him and the nation he represented.

Let alone all of them combined within the East Asian Federation, coupled with their formidable, nearly unattainable domestic productivity.

An unimaginably exaggerated mobilization capacity, and a national cohesion that permeated the entire country.

The hegemon of the next era, the future leader of the human world.

Was there even any question?

"My deepest apologies, I must have been out of my mind earlier."

"Actually, due to certain reasons, I've caught a slight chill and my temperature has been persistently high, which led me to propose such an ill-timed motion."

Ignoring the Atlantic Federation Representative's livid expression beside him, this representative brazenly prepared to switch sides.

"Oh, ignorance is no crime," the East Asian Federation Representative said comfortably, leaning back in his chair and fiddling with his tablet.

Somehow, the display on his tablet was projected directly onto the conference hall's large screen.

Accompanied by the symphony "Above the Moon," which had become the exclusive anthem of the East Asian Alliance space force, the seemingly endless ranks of the East Asian Alliance space force, marching toward a new battlefield, appeared even more majestic and formidable.

Time seemed to reverse at that moment, as the orderly formations of the East Asian Alliance space force overlapped with the invincible army from the historical scrolls of the Qin Emperor sweeping across the six states to unify the land.

That intangible aura, that unity of purpose, pressed down so heavily that representatives from all nations in the hall, and leaders from beyond, could scarcely catch their breath.

"East Asian Federation Representative, I have a new proposal," a representative from a country situated between the Eurasian Federation and the East Asian Federation abruptly stood and declared.

"Our two nations are separated only by a narrow strip of water, and our exchanges date back to the era of the old United Nations."

"Given the complex and volatile state of the world today, my country's national security faces immense threats."

"Regrettably, my nation is small and weak, utterly incapable of safeguarding our territorial integrity and the security of our people."

"Thus, I have an impertinent request: could the East Asian Federation dispatch peacekeeping forces to be stationed long-term within our borders, providing us with the necessary security protection?"

Before the East Asian Federation Representative could respond with agreement or refusal to this proposal, as if by prior arrangement, nearly ninety percent of the small nations' representatives in the hall eagerly rose to their feet.

"Us too!"

"Please, you must help our country."

"We can cover the necessary military expenses—please prioritize us!"

"Scoundrels! In terms of closeness, it should obviously be us first. Get in line behind!"

"Enough nonsense! Is this the time for such talk?"

The once solemn and dignified conference hall of the Allied Forces headquarters instantly descended into chaos, with the stomping of leather shoes and flying saliva, all vying for the security guarantees of the East Asian Federation forces.

National dignity? Diplomatic etiquette?

Sorry, but at this moment, none of that mattered anymore.

Most representatives were well aware of the current state of warfare.

The significance of overseas military bases had diminished to near irrelevance—after all, whoever controlled space rendered terrestrial geography utterly meaningless.

But was that the real issue at hand?

What truly mattered was demonstrating their stance to the East Asian Federation!

Driven by this mindset, the assembly gradually devolved into something resembling a brawl.

These impeccably dressed delegates from various nations resembled gladiators in an ancient Roman arena, all vying for nothing more than a smile or an approving glance from the East Asian Federation.

To achieve this, they were willing to commit acts previously unimaginable.

"Hmph."

The Atlantic Federation Representative's face flushed with alternating shades of green and white as he stared at the screen, where the East Asian Alliance space force continued to pour in relentlessly.

He then turned to survey the chaotic scene, eyeing the shameless antics of the other delegates.

With a furious flick of his sleeve, he stormed out, unable to bear another moment in the room.

"Heh heh heh."

Big Hair rose to his feet, spreading his arms wide as if preparing to embrace the East Asian Representative.

"My dear comrade, oh, I have an excellent bottle of vodka back at my place. I wonder if I might have the honor..."

"...of inviting you to sample it?"

"Vodka? What's so special about that? I have a fine, aged brandy here."

"No, no, no—East Asian Representative, our nation's Scotch whisky is the true drink worthy of careful, thoughtful appreciation."
