Chapter 210 - Chapter 210: Batman VS Red Hulk

Click.

With less than three meters remaining between Batman and Red Hulk, just as Red Hulk reached out to grab him, several strands of abnormally viscous webbing flew out, sticking right into Red Hulk's eye sockets.

At the same time, Batman pointed his other hand toward the Leader's position, and similar clumps of abnormally viscous webbing stuck the Leader firmly in place.

The Leader was currently lying amidst the wreckage of the plane; the webbing glued him firmly to the debris, anchoring him to the ground.

Having experienced combat with an opponent of immense strength like Anti-Venom, Batman had long since upgraded the formula for his webbing fluid again.

This specifically swapped-out webbing did not appear as threads, but rather as a large, sticky mass. It was like a ball of glutinous rice, a singular unit that firmly encased the Leader within it.

Against a guy like the Leader, whose Gamma mutation primarily affected his brain rather than his physical constitution, Batman could subdue him very easily.

But not Red Hulk.

Batman's clumps of sticky webbing could only momentarily obscure Red Hulk's vision. Under the high temperature of his body surface, the webbing rapidly lost its adhesiveness, becoming incredibly dry and brittle—shattering at the slightest touch.

But merely blocking his line of sight and making Red Hulk subconsciously reach up to deal with the webbing in his eye sockets for those few fleeting seconds was enough. It had already bought Batman sufficient time.

Ding!

The Bat-Claw on Batman's left arm opened again under muscle control. A capsule filled with compressed webbing fluid ejected, which Batman grabbed in his hand and threw at Red Hulk.

As he threw it, Batman's fingertips erupted with over thirty tons of force, forcibly crushing the capsule and tossing it onto Red Hulk before the webbing fluid inside could solidify upon contact with the air.

In an instant—whoosh—Red Hulk was once again covered head to toe in a large amount of sticky webbing.

Once again, buying time for Batman.

This time, Batman did not repeat the same trick. Instead, he reached his right hand to the Utility Belt at his waist, took out another capsule, and with a flick of his finger, slotted it into the Bat-Claw on his left arm.

The webbing in this capsule possessed extreme toughness. It was a formula Batman had specially configured on North Brother Island to deal with Anti-Venom.

While Red Hulk roared in anger, clawing at his scalp with both hands to tear off the sticky webbing covering his face, Batman swiftly used the new webbing to set up the surrounding battlefield.

Thwip thwip thwip!

The extremely sticky webbing from his right arm and the abnormally tough webbing from his left arm shot out in all directions simultaneously under Batman's muscular control.

At the same time, the high temperature on Red Hulk's body surface once again evaporated the sticky webbing on his face, causing it to dry out and fail. Red Hulk charged toward Batman once more.

Batman glanced at Red Hulk, instinctively calculating the possible attack range of the charge in his mind, then moved his feet to dodge to the side.

Still not clashing head-on with Red Hulk, Batman continued to set up the Gamma Base, and in passing, hooked a stone with his foot and kicked it toward the Leader.

Bang!

The stone smashed heavily onto the Leader's forehead, knocking him out cold.

It wasn't that Batman hadn't considered using methods to threaten the Leader and order him to mind-control Red Hulk.

But judging by the Leader's various past actions, Batman preferred to defeat Red Hulk personally rather than pin his hopes on the Leader.

If nothing else, just looking at how Norman Osborn immediately attacked Batman after emerging from the glass pod—despite the Leader having told Batman beforehand that he was being "overly cautious" and to "just take Norman away"—was proof enough.

The Leader clearly wanted to mislead Batman, but unfortunately, Batman didn't fall for it.

Furthermore, Batman needed to use the new Batwing to transport Norman Osborn, the Leader, and Red Hulk back to New York.

If he let the Leader control Red Hulk to transform and wreak havoc again while on the Batwing, Batman wouldn't be able to get a third Batwing to reinforce him in such a short time.

He was also concerned about the various situations in New York: Tony Stark's poisoning issue, the construction of Bat-Island, the setup of the Alfred AI, and the Vibranium research.

He had even devised a treatment plan for Professor Morbius's blood disease; Batman intended to attempt it using the small piece of white symbiote left behind by "Anti-Venom" in the Batcave.

Batman would not allow any more complications on the return trip from New Mexico.

Therefore, combining all these factors, Batman preferred to simply knock out the Leader and face Red Hulk himself.

In the blink of an eye, Batman had been maneuvering against Red Hulk for nearly half a minute.

Amidst the frantic spraying of webbing, the extremely tough webbing in the Bat-Claw on Batman's left arm was quickly exhausted.

With another ding, the empty capsule ejected. Batman's right hand reached for the Utility Belt again, this time retrieving a special capsule.

After the webbing fluid inside was fired through the Bat-Claw, the webbing would be laced with corrosive acid.

Batman once again followed the same pattern, firing this webbing toward all corners of the battlefield until it was depleted, then swapped for another one...

This process repeated. Five minutes later.

Centered on Batman and Red Hulk, a twenty-meter radius was now covered in varying layers and scopes of massive amounts of white and black webbing.

Like a spiderweb in a cave, these strands densely layered over the ruins, turning the area completely into a domain of webbing.

These webs served three plans simultaneously. Batman needed to attempt different plans individually to defeat Red Hulk; otherwise, he wouldn't have used up the majority of his capsules.

During this period, Batman had also consumed a vast number of webbing capsules to contain Red Hulk, to the point where Red Hulk, who originally possessed his reason, was now roaring continuously, wanting to land a strike on Batman like a madman.

But under Batman's maneuvering and the containment of the webbing, Red Hulk hadn't managed to touch Batman even once from start to finish.

"Red Hulk possesses reason, but his human form is General Ross. I destroyed his plans at Oscorp, and also ruined his affairs at the Gamma Base."

"It is difficult for me to use words to pacify Red Hulk and make him voluntarily revert to his human form."

All the webbing had been set. Batman retained only a portion of the capsules for his own use, then lifted a broken half-wall and smashed it toward Red Hulk.

"Hulk gets stronger with anger, but Red Hulk has shown no signs of getting stronger up to this point; only his body temperature is constantly rising."

The broken wall smashed onto Red Hulk's body. Although the damage was negligible to Red Hulk, his eyes looked as if they were about to spew fire.

"Plan A: By constantly provoking Red Hulk and causing his temperature to rise, attempt to test if Red Hulk has a state similar to 'overheating'."

Batman took a step back, walking into the inescapable net he had laid out, watching as Red Hulk furiously charged into the web.
