Chapter 397 - Chapter 397: Robin's Second Phase

On the screen, the frequency distribution inside Klaw's body grew increasingly chaotic.

The newly absorbed soundwaves acted like invaders, crashing violently through the older generation of frequencies as they scrambled to find a place of their own.

But space was limited. The old frequencies refused to yield, and the new ones forced their way in. When too many new sounds joined too quickly, conflict erupted.

Klaw's sickening, pinkish-purple body began to vibrate irregularly. The ripples across certain areas grew chaotic and disorganized, even suffering brief fractures.

Klaw roared, attempting to stabilize himself.

Yet every time he managed to suppress the chaos in one spot, a new conflict flared up elsewhere. The tens of thousands of frequencies inside him were now fighting a civil war.

And the victor was Batman.

"What did you do?!" This time, Klaw's voice carried cries, pleas, and the screech of fingernails dragging across a chalkboard, causing the distant Wakandans to cover their ears in agony.

His massive, pinkish-purple body began a continuous cycle of collapsing and reconstructing. Batman seized this opportunity to relentlessly analyze Klaw's physical makeup.

Finally, after Klaw's body had reassembled itself over a hundred times, Batman isolated the frequency of the sonic converter located at the absolute core of the villain's form.

Batman closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and spoke.

Not through a megaphone, nor through any external device. Sitting right there in the cockpit, he simply whispered a single word:

"Klaw."

By the time the sound traveled through the faint vibrations of the mech's outer hull, it was entirely inaudible to the outside world.

But that didn't matter. Batman was merely using the cockpit inside the Rogue Mech as a resonant cavity to leverage Klaw's own frequency.

Instantly, Klaw's body—which had been collapsing and reconstructing just a second ago—froze solid.

The tens of thousands of soundwaves composing his form simultaneously heard that original, foundational sound that had created them.

Klaw opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but his body was already disintegrating, violently vibrating outward from the location of the sonic converter.

In a millisecond, Klaw's pinkish-purple body vanished into thin air. All that remained was the lone sonic converter, still pulsing with soundwaves, falling from the sky. It struck a boulder and shattered into several pieces.

The man once known as Ulysses Klaw had died long ago, dissolving into sound.

And now, Klaw had vanished completely. Just dozens of seconds earlier, he had been smugly mocking Batman; now, not even a shadow of him remained.

Batman leaped out of the Rogue Mech and walked over to the broken sonic converter. He picked it up, stared at it silently for a few seconds, and buried it on the spot.

"Don't move! Put your hands up! Stay right there!"

With Klaw dead, the Wakandans who had been standing far away immediately closed in, aiming their Vibranium spears at Batman.

Batman clenched his fists. Without wasting a single word on them, he stepped forward and kicked the Wakandans into the dirt one by one.

The ground within the valley had already been plowed multiple times during the battle between Batman and Klaw. Aside from a few unbroken boulders, the terrain consisted of soft, loose soil.

Batman didn't kill the Wakandans, but burying them in the dirt was enough to temporarily take them out of the fight.

In the sky, the three trailing Wakandan fighters opened fire the moment Batman moved. However, Batman dodged the onslaught effortlessly while swiftly retreating back into the Rogue Mech.

Rumble!

The Rogue Mech powered up once more. Instead of leaving immediately, it stood in place for a few minutes before tossing out a small screen.

As the three Wakandan fighters watched in tense suspicion, the Rogue Mech quickly departed.

"What is this?"

"He's heading toward the capital. We need to tail him."

"It looks like this screen left something for us?"

The Wakandans who had been kicked into the dirt struggled to their feet and gathered around the screen Batman had thrown. After carefully checking to ensure it wasn't a bomb, they turned it on.

"I am T'Challa..." T'Challa's pre-dawn address to Wakanda appeared on the screen.

"That guy isn't an enemy... he's T'Challa's friend." A Wakandan whose necklace bore more animal fangs than the others noticed that T'Challa had specifically mentioned "allies fighting Ulysses Klaw's international mercenaries."

The other Wakandans looked toward the Vibranium vein. There, over a thousand Wakandans captured by Klaw were either prone or lying flat on the ground.

They had merely passed out earlier from the effects of Klaw's sonic attacks.

Deep beneath the Wakandan capital, before the temple.

The battle between Venom Robin and Skurge the Executioner had likewise entered a brutal stalemate from the very beginning.

The Executioner swung his axe, and Venom Robin used his symbiote matter to manifest an identical axe to match him.

Compared to the battle between Batman and Klaw, this fight was far more primitive and savage. The two relied entirely on raw strength, hacking away at each other with their weapons.

Initially, Venom Robin was no match for the Executioner, consistently finding himself at a disadvantage during their clashes.

Yet, as his energy depleted and the mummy wraps covering his body tore into tattered rags, the grin on Venom Robin's face only grew wider and wider.

Thud!

The Executioner buried his axe into Venom Robin's shoulder, making a sound like slicing through a thick rubber tire.

Half of Venom Robin's shoulder was severed, and the mummy wraps on his body tore completely open, revealing the black symbiote form beneath, laced with lightning-like white veins.

The Executioner yanked hard on his axe, only to find he couldn't pull it free.

Just as he prepared to stomp on Venom Robin to wrench the weapon away, the Executioner was stunned to see the little monster's body rapidly expanding, turning immensely hulking.

In the blink of an eye, the four-foot-tall Venom Robin transformed into a ten-foot-tall, hyper-muscular monstrosity. Lashing his tongue out, he gripped the axe embedded in his shoulder with one hand and grabbed the Executioner's head with the other, his voice booming with brutish glee:

"Have you ever played a video game?"

BOOM!

Robin delivered a flying kick, sending the Executioner hurtling dozens of meters away. The villain slammed heavily into the perimeter wall of the underground cavern before crashing to the ground with a dull thud.

Yanking the axe from his own shoulder, Robin weighed it in his hand before tossing it aside. He slowly clenched his hands into massive fists:

"If you've played games, you'd know that some bosses have a second phase."

The Executioner had barely hit the ground when Robin, fully transformed back into Venom, leaped directly onto his face. He rained massive fists down upon the Executioner's head, strike after brutal strike.

Back when they were trading axe blows, the Executioner could still suppress Robin. But now, facing Venom without his weapon, the Executioner could do nothing but take a passive, savage beating.

Splat!

A mouthful of blood erupted from the Executioner's mouth. His arms ultimately failed to withstand Venom's frenzied onslaught; they snapped with a sickening crack, and his chest caved inward under the assault.

"Amora..."

The Executioner murmured the Enchantress's name under his breath.

He could feel his life slipping away. Even as a hybrid of Asgardian and Frost Giant lineage, he couldn't endure Venom's unrelenting, face-smashing blows.

He had followed the Enchantress blindly, obeying her every whim, even when her orders went against his own judgment.

The Executioner had believed that he would win the Enchantress over one day, but all his loyalty had earned him was abandonment.

"Amora...!" The Executioner couldn't help but call out again, but before he could finish, Venom's fist struck, breaking his jaw.

The Executioner gave up all resistance. He was just about to close his eyes and accept death when a green figure faintly materialized beside him a second later.

Another punch landed! Venom's fist showed absolutely no mercy, striking to kill. Yet, a smile actually surfaced on the Executioner's battered face.

The Enchantress had come to save him.

The next moment, Venom's body was blasted away by a bolt of emerald magic. The Enchantress shot Venom a profound look, stepped forward to support the Executioner, and the two vanished together into thin air.
