What?" Sabe demanded sharply, his brows knitting together as his gaze snapped back to Matthew. "Who's responsible for your pregnancy, Matthew?"
His voice dropped into something darker, more dangerous.
"I want to hear it from you. Say it yourself. Right now."
Matthew stiffened, but before he could speak, Gabe's laughter cut through the rain-soaked silence.
"Oh, of course it's someone very close to you, Sabe," Gabe said lazily, tilting his head with a cruel smile. "Someone you'd never expect something like this from. Someone you trusted with your life—yet he still betrayed you."
His laughter rang out again, sharp and mocking.
Sabe's eyes widened, disbelief warring with fury as he turned back to Matthew.
"Is that true?" he demanded. "Who's the bastard that got you pregnant?"
His grip tightened around his gun.
"Is he one of my business clients? One of the men working under me?" His voice rose into a furious roar. "Speak up, you slut!"
