The Dwarves, however, are rooted in closer blood ties—clans.
On the surface, lords across the lands hold governance and military command rights over their territories, possessing considerable power, but the real authority to decide the fate of the Mountains always firmly resides in the hands of the clan leaders and the Elder Council. A single lord is merely part of a clan.
Currently, there are four major clans controlling the lifeline of the Mountains:
The Deep Furnace Clan, which masters many forging secret techniques and some ancient combat puppet technologies.
The Fire Beard Clan, inheritors of the war god's bloodline, the sharpest battle axes in the Mountains.
