Ethan was very close… close enough for her to smell the blade still strapped to his thigh.
He leaned down just a little bit, the cruel amusement was building in his expression as if he were enjoying every inch of fear he caused.
He lifted her chin…
"She dares to speak to me like that. After everything she has seen," he began shaking his head.
Danielle met his stare with pure defiance. "I would rather die than respect you."
Ethan's smile widened...
"Death is too easy for you."
He raised his hand and motioned to one of the men standing behind her. The man brought over a small metal box and opened it.
Danielle's breath hitched when she recognised it… stun device built for interrogation… not quick, but slow and very very painful...
Ethan took it gently and very tenderly.
"You will learn control," he said. "Or you will learn pain."
Danielle turned her face away, refusing to give him the mistake of seeing her fear.
