Evangeline let out a sharp yelp as she watched in horror. The surface of the mirror rippled unnaturally, as though something beneath it was struggling to break free. The glass warped and bulged outward, stretching like thin skin that was about to tear as a blunt object pierced it thin, and before she could even take a step back, a face began to emerge from within the mirror itself.
She froze at the sight, face to face to a person's face that was hidden underneath the mirror.
A woman's face pressed against the surface, half-formed and wrong in every possible way. When their eyes met, Evangeline's breath caught painfully in her chest.
The woman's eyes were blank.
Not only were the whites exposed, but her pupils and her irises, were entirely absent, leaving behind a pair of empty, pale orbs that reflected nothing at all. They stared straight into Evangeline as if seeing far more than just her body.
Before Evangeline could scream, the mirror lurched forward.
