Evangeline couldn't help but press her lips together, a soft, giddy smile threatening to spill over. She had always been close to Hades, but this… this was different. Now that their feelings had finally met, something between them had changed, deepened, as if the invisible thread that bound them had been spun anew with gold, gleaming quietly with a warmth she had never known before.
The happiness was almost too much to hold. It filled her chest, light and overwhelming, until it made her feel as though she might dissolve into it. Snuggling into his arms, she felt her body soften, melt, every thought drifting away beneath the simple comfort of being held by him.
