HARPER
Momentarily, I forgot about my situation as I stared at Dominic expectantly. He leaned in; the smirk on his face was too damned distracting. However, I pushed all the thoughts to the back of my head to concentrate on his words.
"What's the offer?" I asked him. Even though I couldn't see him offering anything that might be of help to me, I was curious.
"Will you be willing to—"
A sharp, shrill cut off his words. I groaned, staring at the center table as the phone vibrated. Dominic squinted, seemingly annoyed by the distraction. He walked to the table, peered at his phone, then stared back at him.
His gaze darkened in an instant, and his jaw clenched, a far cry from the amusing look he often wore.
"Stay and don't go anywhere." He murmured, snatching his phone from the table.
