I stared at my golden Rolex watch for the hundredth time, glaring at the arrival doors. No one in suits or foreign attire appeared, nothing that suggested my wait was finally over.
I had been stuck in this damned airport for over two hours. Two long hours in the sweltering heat. Sweat slicked the back of my neck, irritating my skin, and I had wiped my face so many times I'd lost count. I wasn't exaggerating.
Maybe it was a bad idea to come here myself to welcome the international guests. I could have told Richard to attend to them while we met later in the conference room.
But Mila was returning from summer camp, and I had promised to pick her up since Jason was busy at work. I thought it made sense to meet the guests in person while I was already here.
Now neither the guests nor Mila were in sight.
