THREE DAYS LATER
I sat on the bed, staring at the paper trembling in my hands.
I had been staring at it for the past hour, unable to fully process what it said or what it truly meant.
It had come in the mail. I didn't know who delivered it, but I didn't need to. The sender's name was enough.
"Is he fighting for custody of the kids now?"
I snapped my head up too quickly, a sharp pain shooting through my neck. A wince escaped my lips, and I stroked it gently before staring at Julian.
I had forgotten he was even in the room.
Of course he had read it. He was standing right in front of me.
"Custody?!" I snapped, glaring at him.
I had been trying to understand how Dominic even found out the children were his, and here Julian was talking about custody—as if that wasn't about to make everything worse.
Dominic fucking Fletcher.
Who was I kidding?
He would never leave me alone. He was my past… and somehow still my present.
I hated it.
