Behind Luna, a low, steady voice cut through the silence.
"What are you doing here, Luna?"
She turned.
Mark stood at the end of the corridor, one hand still on his cufflink, his tie slightly loosened from the drive. His expression was sharp, contained, and distant in the way only he could be. But there was a flicker in his eyes, the kind that caught small lies before they formed.
"Mark," Luna said smoothly, her tone clipped yet soft, "I needed to talk to you."
His gaze lingered a moment, studying her, "About what?"
"Something… you'll want to see for yourself."
He didn't respond right away. There was no one else around to hear, not even Hima. She had gone down to the archive a few minutes ago. And Lilly also wasn't at Hima's table. The corridor was all glass, all echoes.
Finally, Mark walked past her, pulled open his office door, and said quietly, "Come in."
Luna followed.
The door shut behind them with a quiet click.
