Celina's POV
Two nights ago, my world crumbled into pieces. The fairy tale I had been living suddenly turned into a nightmare, and reality hit me like a freight train.
Harriet's vicious words still echoed in my mind. Her threats. Her manipulation. Everything she had said broke something inside me that I wasn't sure could ever be fixed. Fear consumed me completely, leaving me feeling helpless and defeated.
When she told me I was nothing but a game piece she could move around at will, I realized my days here were numbered. The terror of what Grant might force me to do had taken over every thought in my head. I knew I had to run before he could make me do something horrible. This was my only shot at freedom.
Harriet mentioned a car would be waiting for me outside. But I planned to avoid it entirely and head straight for the forest instead. I would hike for days until I reached my hometown. From there, I could vanish completely and start over somewhere new.
