Emirates Stadium, London
Pre-Match
The whistles started the moment United stepped out for warm-up, rolling down from the Arsenal tiers in a thin sharp wave that turned every red shirt's first touch into a jeer, and the away end answered in the corner with a wall of song that couldn't match the rest of the stadium for volume.
Demien jogged through the passing grid with Casemiro and Bruno while Arsenal warmed up at the far end, and twice he caught Rice glancing across at where he positioned himself to receive, then looking away. Their staff stood near the halfway line with folded arms, watching United's shape rather than their own drills, and the whole thing carried a weight that Forest and Wolves hadn't — the sense of a side that had already decided how it would stop them before a ball was kicked.
In the dressing room Ten Hag kept his final talk on the team rather than any single player.
