He picked up his spoon.
"The food… obviously can't be anything less than delicious," he added. "You cooked it, after all."
The way he looked at her made the words land differently.
Olaedo froze.
Did he just… compliment me?
For a second, she wondered if she imagined it.
But that look...
That steady, intentional gaze...
Said otherwise.
A faint blush crept onto her face before she could stop it.
"It's alright," she said quickly, looking away.
"Come on, let's eat. We have a busy day ahead."
"Of course," Chibuzor nodded.
They ate.
This time, quietly.
Comfortably.
And before long, they were done.
Olaedo stood up and gestured toward the hallway.
"Okay… the guest room is yours," she said, pointing. "I'll take the master bedroom."
She said it simply, like it had already been decided.
She hadn't planned for him to move in.
Not like this.
But he had insisted.
And even if she wasn't fully on board…
She understood why.
"I have a better idea," Chibuzor said.
