"Slow down, Aria!" I yelled above the rush of wind, my fingers white-knuckled on the door handle. "We can't help them if we crash on the way there!"
Aria tore her eyes from the road for a moment, meeting my gaze. "We need speed, and you should understand that we'd be running if only your wolf were in good condition. Plus," she turned back to the road, "I'm not sure we could run at the speed I'm going right now."
"Yes, Aria. This is the speed of death," I replied, my grip on the door handle intensifying. The car's tires screeched as Aria executed a sharp turn, my heart leaping into my throat. "Aria, please slow down."
Aria laughed and gave the steering wheel a playful hit. Her behavior at that moment made me question if she was the same sweet girl as before. Behind the wheel, she was more of a beast, and without caution, she could steer us into the woods.
