It wouldn't be entirely accurate to call him an ordinary human.
Even without his magical power and with his bloodline sealed, Rizevim's physical prowess still allowed him to overpower ordinary humans and even some weaker devils.
Unfortunately, devils aren't a race known for their physical strength.
Having lost all his magical power and with his bloodline sealed, Rizevim couldn't even defeat someone as relatively weak as Rias.
He had truly become a useless devil.
Such a devil posed no threat.
Seeing this, Sirzechs and Serafall said nothing.
Satan Lucifer's bottom line was that Rizevim remained alive.
As long as Rizevim wasn't dead, his condition didn't matter to them.
So, when Sirzechs and Serafall saw Rizevim's pitiful state, far from feeling sympathy, they took a certain satisfaction in his misfortune.
After all, if not for Morpheus, Rizevim might have actually killed them both.
For an enemy who sought their lives, they had no intention of playing the saint.
They were devils, not angels.
After stripping Rizevim of his power, Morpheus forcibly accessed his memories.
Without any strength to resist, Rizevim was defenseless against Morpheus's intrusion.
Every event from his life, from childhood to now, was laid bare before Morpheus.
But Morpheus cared little for these details. His focus was on whether Rizevim was indeed the devil behind the Umbrella Corporation, the one protecting that group.
It didn't take long for Morpheus to uncover the truth.
The devil backing Umbrella was, indeed, Rizevim.
Oswell E. Spencer.
In the original Resident Evil storyline, he was born in 1923, a member of traditional British nobility, a eugenicist, and a virologist.
Coming from an aristocratic family, he received the finest education from a young age. Over time, he became enamored with eugenics, believing that modern humans were imperfect and needed to evolve into superhumans.
Later, in his family's library, he discovered An Introduction to Natural History, a work by the British explorer Henry Travis, documenting 34 years of exploration in Africa.
In this book, he learned of the Stairway of the Sun flower, which might make Spencer's dreams a reality.
He later enrolled in university, where he met two like-minded individuals.
James Marcus, a virology expert at a Swiss university.
And Edward Ashford, another aristocrat.
During this time, Spencer shared his findings from An Introduction to Natural History with them, leading James Marcus to hypothesize that the Stairway of the Sun flower might contain a unique virus.
Later, Oswell E. Spencer, then an ordinary British medical student, was saved by Mother Miranda after getting lost and was hired as her research assistant.
Spencer thus became involved in Miranda's research on the Mutamycete mold.
Who was Mother Miranda?
The main antagonist of Resident Evil Village.
Originally human, Miranda discovered the Megamycete over a century ago.
The Megamycete was a natural, super-fungal collective with its own consciousness and intelligence, its origins shrouded in mystery.
It had existed for centuries before Miranda found it.
Even Miranda herself might not fully understand its origins.
The Megamycete infected her, causing her to mutate and evolve, granting her an extended lifespan. However, she was devastated by the loss of her daughter, Eva, to the Spanish flu between 1918 and 1920.
She sought to use the mold spread by the Megamycete to find a suitable host to resurrect Eva.
For over a century, she secretly used innocent villagers as test subjects.
This woman had once been Spencer's secret mentor.
Though Spencer gained no research results from Miranda during that time and never conducted any studies on the mold himself, his vision of founding Umbrella and his desire for human evolution were inspired by the Megamycete, Miranda, and the mold's influence on him.
After leaving Miranda, Spencer took his two friends to Africa, where they ultimately found the Stairway of the Sun flower.
This led to the founding of the Umbrella Corporation.
Over time, it grew into a colossal entity.
But in this world, Oswell E. Spencer was a noble of the Holy Britannian Empire.
His life trajectory was largely similar to the Resident Evil storyline.
He gathered allies, found the Stairway of the Sun flower, and established the Umbrella Corporation.
However, as time passed, the viruses developed by Umbrella failed to free Spencer from the crisis of mortality. Instead, he grew older and older.
At this point, Spencer began to doubt whether his path of viral research was correct.
By chance, he encountered the occult.
He placed all his hopes in mysticism and followed its rituals to summon a legendary devil.
At the time, Spencer hadn't summoned Rizevim.
With his abilities, summoning a devil like Rizevim was impossible.
But as it happened, Rizevim was nearby when Spencer performed the summoning ritual. Out of curiosity, Rizevim intercepted the call meant for another devil and responded to Spencer.
Of course, Rizevim's decision was driven by curiosity.
And partly by intuition.
His intuition told him that answering this summons would benefit his ambitions.
Powerful gods and devils often have such premonitions.
The facts proved his intuition correct. Under his guidance, Umbrella rapidly innovated, developing a variety of viruses.
This included the Blacklight Virus, the MK Virus, and the Progenitor Virus, all born under Rizevim's influence.
As for Spencer, upon witnessing Rizevim's immense power, he unhesitatingly sold his soul to Rizevim, willingly becoming his lackey in exchange for the chance to become a devil.
How did he become a devil?
Simple.
An Evil Piece.
In the storyline of Highschool DxD, the protagonist Issei Hyoudou was transformed into a devil by Rias using a Evil Piece.
This was invented by another devil, Ajuka Beelzebub.
In this crossover world, Ajuka similarly invented the Evil Piece.
Its purpose was to bolster the devils' forces.
Spencer became a demon through a Evil Piece, placing him entirely under Rizevim's control.
This was why Morpheus could see everything about Spencer in Rizevim's memories.
Because, whether in soul or body, Spencer was now a devil claimed by Rizevim.
