Chapter 245 - [DEM] 245: Resurrection

The so-called Slash-Slash Fruit was created by Morpheus after analyzing his slashing magic and infusing it into a banana, transforming it into a Devil Fruit.

It was similar to the Slice-Slice Fruit but capable of unleashing a variety of slashing attacks.

Incredibly versatile.

If someone developed its power to its fullest, they could cleave seas, tear skies, and shatter mountains with ease. Its potency rivaled that of the Quake-Quake Fruit.

Moreover, its slashes were silent, invisible, and colorless. Even an ordinary person wielding it could pose a significant threat to those without Haki.

It was an exceptionally powerful Devil Fruit.

"Want it?" Morpheus casually offered the fruit to Nico Robin.

Robin hesitated. "Boss, no one can eat a second Devil Fruit without dying."

Morpheus replied, "I know, but my Devil Fruits are different. They shouldn't conflict with the one you already have."

"Shouldn't?" Robin echoed, intrigued. "What kind of fruit is this, Boss?"

Morpheus explained the Slash-Slash Fruit's abilities, then added, "If you don't like it, I can make another. Thanks to you, I've figured out the essence of Devil Fruits. Creating them is no trouble at all."

"Creating Devil Fruits…" Robin was speechless, wondering if he realized how absurd that sounded.

"Boss, who are you?"

Morpheus grinned. "You don't have to think of me as human. Consider me a god—immortal, nearly omnipotent."

Nearly omnipotent? That seemed a bit exaggerated.

Robin tested him. "If I wanted a Devil Fruit that could resurrect the dead, could you make that?"

"Why not?" Morpheus took another banana and modified it. The patterns on its surface shifted.

"Here, this is the Resurrection Fruit you asked for. As long as you have the body—even if it's just bones—you can bring them back to life."

Robin's jaw dropped. He was serious.

She'd only mentioned it offhandedly, yet he'd actually created a Resurrection Fruit.

Wasn't that a bit much?

Her eyes gleamed, unable to resist the fruit's allure. She ate it.

Instantly, she felt the power of resurrection within her.

To test it, she used her Flower-Flower Fruit, sprouting two arms on the table to snap the neck of Gem, the Bomb-Bomb Fruit user.

Gem died in his sleep.

Then, using the same arms, Robin revived him.

When she saw Gem breathing again, she confirmed she'd gained the heaven-defying ability to resurrect.

The man before her might truly be a god.

In that moment, faces flashed through Robin's mind—her mother, Dr. Clover, her friends. With this power, could she bring them back?

But she dismissed the thought. The World Government dominated this world. Even if she revived them, the government would hunt them down, killing them again and again.

Resurrecting them wasn't enough—she didn't want them to suffer repeated deaths.

For them to live freely, pursuing history without oppression, one thing was necessary.

The World Government had to fall.

Only with the government's collapse and the Celestial Dragons' extinction could they be free.

Robin's mind raced. Before, she'd never dared dream of toppling the World Government. She was too weak, unable to face even a Navy admiral, let alone a rear admiral or commodore.

But now, with this overpowered resurrection ability, she could challenge them. Reviving a few legendary pirates could keep the Navy and government scrambling.

If she could find Joy Boy from 800 years ago, she could strike a devastating blow.

Unfortunately, she didn't know where Joy Boy's body was. Otherwise, she'd give the government a shock.

Her gaze shifted to Morpheus.

If she couldn't find Joy Boy, she could enlist a god's help. If she convinced Morpheus to act against the World Government, no number of Joy Boys could compare.

Joy Boy, no matter how great, couldn't match a god who crafted Devil Fruits. If he could, the government wouldn't have ruled for 800 years.

The question was how to persuade this god to act.

Robin's mind churned with schemes, each dismissed as too risky, likely to anger Morpheus.

Then, a realization hit her. Why scheme against a god? The World Government and Celestial Dragons, with their arrogance, would inevitably provoke Morpheus themselves.

The Celestial Dragons were false gods; Morpheus was the real deal. A clash was inevitable.

She didn't need to do anything but wait. Soon enough, the government would cross Morpheus, and it would crumble.

Relieved, Robin relaxed visibly and smiled. "Thank you for the Resurrection Fruit, Boss. Any further orders? I'm happy to serve."

Morpheus considered. He'd stumbled into the One Piece world, learned about Devil Fruits, and now only needed to summon his Light Dimension to consume it.

But before that, he could enjoy the scenery.
