With a heavy sigh, Yuki stood up, adjusting the jacket she wore over her crisp, full white clothes. She paid the bill and walked out into the chilly morning air.
She had a job to do, and the window of time she had to do it was shrinking by the second.
The drive from Ward 8 to Ward 9 was a blur of concrete, checkpoints, and bustling crowds who knew but chose to stay oblivious to the nightmare that had unfolded in Ward 7 just hours prior.
Kashima Ryou—Ishiki's alias—was officially a rogue agent. He had lost control to his corruption, transforming into a senseless monster that slaughtered innocent civilians and Association players alike.
The fact that Kenji and the Eclipsed Demon had orchestrated the entire massacre to force Ishiki's hand wouldn't matter to the Central Command. The Association operated on cold, hard facts: Kashima Ryou had spilled Association blood.
