Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 – When Heaven Falls

The sky shattered.

A thousand divine bells rang in unison as the Heavens split open, revealing an endless sea of golden clouds. Rivers of light cascaded downward, each one carrying legions of celestial soldiers clad in radiance. Their armors blazed with divine flame; their spears were forged from the bones of fallen stars.

At the forefront of this divine descent floated ten colossal warships — each shaped like a temple, each carrying the sigil of Heaven's supreme authority. The banners of the Immortal Emperor unfurled across the sky, their runes shining with words of divine law.

> All who defy Heaven shall be erased.

The world trembled beneath that decree.

Mortals wept. Mountains bowed. Even spirits fled into the void.

But at the heart of the frozen world, one figure stood unmoved.

Feixue, cloaked in robes of silver frost, raised her gaze to the heavens.

Her expression was calm — serene, yet absolute.

Snow swirled gently around her, undisturbed by the chaos of divinity.

---

From the front of the golden army, a voice thundered.

> "Feixue of the Mortal Domain! You stand accused of shattering divine order, tainting the sacred balance, and resurrecting the forbidden Origin!"

The clouds parted, revealing the speaker — a towering celestial general clad in obsidian-gold armor, his wings vast enough to block the sun. His eyes glowed like twin stars.

> "I am Marshal Tianzhao, First General of Heaven's Spear. In the name of the Immortal Emperor, I command your submission!"

Feixue's voice was like the wind — soft, yet every syllable pierced through the roar of armies.

> "Heaven commands submission… yet it was born from my silence."

A hush fell. The celestial legions stirred uneasily, their faith quivering at her words. Even the clouds hesitated.

Tianzhao scowled. "Arrogance! Then die beneath Heaven's light!"

He raised his spear — a weapon forged from the Primordial Sun — and hurled it downward.

The sky ignited. Flames of judgment rained upon the world, devouring air, space, and sound.

For a moment, all existence was light.

---

Then… stillness.

The inferno froze midair. Each flame halted as if caught in time.

The sky dimmed — the golden light fading to a pale silver glow.

Feixue stood untouched, her eyes shimmering with endless reflection.

Around her, a vast circle of frost spread across the heavens, forming sigils of Time, Ice, and Origin intertwined.

> "If light brings judgment," she whispered, "then darkness remembers truth."

She raised her hand. The flames turned into snowflakes, drifting harmlessly to the ground.

Her aura rippled outward, and the entire battlefield shuddered as countless celestial soldiers felt their divine power falter.

The domain of Heaven… was being rewritten.

---

In the clouds above, the generals shouted commands, but confusion spread.

One of them gasped, staring at his trembling hands.

> "My divine core—why does it feel… bound?"

Feixue's voice echoed through the realm:

> "Your strength was borrowed from law. Mine was born before it."

She stepped forward. With each step, time bent; the heavens dimmed further.

Her sword appeared — a simple blade of translucent frost, silent yet infinitely sharp.

She moved once.

And the sound of reality breaking filled the air.

The spear of Tianzhao shattered. His armor cracked, divine essence spilling like molten gold.

He fell from the sky, his wings dissolving into mist.

Feixue's expression did not change.

> "Return to your Emperor," she said softly. "Tell him Heaven bleeds when it forgets."

---

Far above, in the Celestial Palace, the Immortal Emperor's eyes snapped open.

Through countless mirrors of divine sight, he watched his general fall.

His jaw tightened.

> "So… she has already grasped the balance of multiple Daos."

The ministers trembled. "My Emperor, shall we—"

> "Summon the Second Legion. And send Seraphis to lead them."

At those words, a ripple of tension filled the hall.

Seraphis stepped forward from the shadows, her golden armor shining faintly. But beneath that brilliance, frost crept like veins of blue light.

> "As you command, my Emperor."

She bowed low — but her eyes, hidden behind her helm, flickered with defiance.

---

When she descended with the Second Legion, her heart beat painfully.

The world below was already half-covered in frost — Feixue's domain spreading across mountains and rivers like a living memory.

The Celestial soldiers marched behind her, chanting Heaven's decree. But Seraphis's steps slowed when she saw the woman below.

Feixue looked up, her gaze meeting hers across the battlefield.

Neither spoke. The wind itself fell silent between them.

Seraphis felt her divine core tremble. The Lotus of Balance — hidden within her armor — pulsed gently, radiating warmth and frost.

> Remember, Feixue's voice echoed in her mind, soft yet unyielding. Even Heaven was born to remember.

Seraphis closed her eyes.

Then — without warning — she turned her sword.

Instead of striking Feixue, she slashed through the sigil controlling her own army.

The divine command shattered. Golden chains of light snapped apart, and the Celestial soldiers froze, their consciousness clearing for the first time in eternity.

> "General Seraphis, what are you doing?!" shouted a captain.

Seraphis's voice rang clear.

> "Defying false Heaven."

She raised her sword high.

> "From this moment, I fight for remembrance — for what Heaven once was!"

Her golden wings ignited with frostfire, splitting into radiant feathers that rained down like stars.

Feixue's lips curved faintly.

> "Then Heaven… has begun to awaken."

---

The battlefield erupted into chaos — half the Celestial Legion following Seraphis, the other half obeying the Emperor's orders.

Golden light clashed with silver frost; the skies turned crimson with divine blood.

At the center, Feixue floated between both sides, her aura expanding until heaven and earth blurred.

Her voice echoed through the chaos, calm and eternal.

> "If Heaven seeks war… then let it first remember peace."

With a wave of her hand, her frost expanded in concentric rings — not to kill, but to stop time itself.

Every soldier, every blade, every flame froze mid-motion.

Only Feixue and Seraphis remained free — two goddesses standing amid a motionless storm.

Feixue turned to her, eyes reflecting the stars.

> "You chose well, Seraphis. But this war will not end here."

Seraphis nodded. "Then where does it lead?"

Feixue looked up — beyond the broken sky, beyond Heaven's light — toward a faint realm of colorless void.

> "Beyond Heaven lies something older — the true throne. The one even the Emperor fears."

Her gaze hardened.

> "And that is where our path leads next."
