Enzo's Pov
I left Robbin's place with a stronger, clearer sense of myself and a newfound certainty about what I truly want. I am going to fix this with Eden. We can give this marriage a real shot, and I find I do not mind the idea at all.
Maybe it is a risk to trust her. I know she has done some horrible things in her past, but I appreciate that she is brutally open about them. She is far more authentic than anyone else I know, even if she does not fit into their perfect, polished mould, and I am starting to realize that is more than okay with me.
When I get back to the penthouse, it is unusually quiet and dark inside. She must have gone to bed already, which strikes me as odd because it is barely 8 p.m. I drop my keys in the ceramic bowl by the door and kick off my shoes, strolling further into the living room to look for her.
"Eden?" I call out, my voice echoing slightly in the open space.
I am answered by the sound of something glass crashing and shattering in the kitchen.
