Chapter 22 - Chapter Twenty-two

Mondays, I always hated them. I felt the eyes of my classmates on us strangely because this time Annette was on my arm instead of Elias's. Abby walked with us, her foot in a cast and using crutches. I saw Elias ahead of us, walking in a huff. We hadn't spoken much since our altercation. Whatever.

As I approached my locker to grab my math book, I heard a gasp from my fellow students, indicating something dramatic had happened. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw: Elias at his locker, making out with Nova. I stood there like an idiot, watching them. What the hell was going on with my Streak? I heard Finn laughing at my reaction and shut my locker before moving towards him.

"You knew about this?" I asked.

He chuckled, "I forgot you didn't see who came out of his tent the other day."

"Not Nova."

He just nodded.

"Why?"

"I guessed he enjoyed the venomous sex."

Abby laughed. "This was going to be a mess with the clan."

"I wouldn't have worried about it too much; they didn't seem very protective over her."

"Hopefully, you were right." I glanced over at the other male clan member, who was also assessing the situation.

I sat in the classroom, still dumbfounded. I thought Elias hated the Greenwood clan; he even criticized me for working with them numerous times. The professor passed out a paper with math equations, and of course, I finished in no time.

Classes passed, and I was relieved that the day was finally over. As I walked down the hallway, I saw Abby talking to a guy who wasn't Finn. She seemed upset, so I approached and invited myself into the conversation.

"He wants you to meet at the club this afternoon," I heard him say.

"I… can't," she replied.

"Why don't you tell your boy Nick that if he hadn't dropped out of school, he would have been able to give her this message himself!"

"Are you her new boy toy?" He gave me a disappointing look.

"A friend," I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't know friends were that protective," he said, raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe you hadn't had the right friends."

"My friends didn't all screw each other," he replied.

Just then, I saw Finn laughing as he approached. "Then you definitely don't have the right friends," he teased.

I shook my head, laughing. Finn was so crazy.

As I walked out of the school, I saw Elias and Nova at his locker. I had no idea where Annette had wandered off to.

"Able, come here," Nova called.

I shook my head no. I noticed other students in the hallway, and I really didn't want to give them a show. She put her hand on her hip, and I knew I needed to see what she wanted. I walked over, and she twirled her hair around her finger, clearly wanting something.

"I'm not interested in a threesome," I said.

Elias laughed, while Nova rolled her eyes. "Why was my boyfriend on lockdown?"

It felt awkward to discuss what was going on within the Streak with an outsider, but Nova would know what was happening since she was one of us, just from a different perspective. Elias didn't have to lie to her.

"Nova, I'm not discussing this with you," I said.

She stepped closer to me, and I instinctively backed up toward the locker. I felt her hands on my chest.

"I want Elias to be my date at the club tonight," she said.

I removed her hands from me. "Get your girlfriend." I glanced at Elias, and I was sure he could see the humor on my face; I couldn't help but smirk.

He rolled his eyes. I took a deep breath. "We will discuss this later, all of it." I pointed my finger at him, then at Nova. As I walked away, I noticed some students staring at us.
