"Alexander," she whispered, half warning and half breathless.
He lowered his head slightly and his eyes dark but amused.
"Relax," he murmured. "We are just swimming."
His thumb traced slow circles against the side of her waist under the water.
She felt it everywhere.
"You don't swim like this," she said softly.
"I do now."
She tried to look annoyed but failed.
Behind them, Patricia shouted something about Lucas cheating again but it felt far away.
Alexander leaned closer and his lips just brushed the shell of her ear.
"I have a feeling," he murmured quietly, voice low and deliberate, "this trip is going to be very memorable."
Her stomach flipped.
"Memorable how?" she whispered.
He smiled against her skin.
"I am patient," he said. "But not that patient."
Her fingers tightened slightly in his shoulders.
The tension shifted, it was no longer playful.
