Liam looked at the two options floating in his vision.
He selected an option.
Time resumed.
Daisy's tail continued wagging. The ceiling fan spun. The cicadas outside picked up their song again.
Liam leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees. "I won't say that," he said, his voice calm. "But I'm good with my hands if you're ready to get your treatment started."
Grace blinked, her face going from pink to red in about half a second. "W-what?"
"Your back pain," Liam said, keeping his tone casual. "You mentioned it before at the station. I can help with that."
Grace's mouth opened, then closed. She looked down at her lap, her fingers twisting together nervously. "You... you really want to help with that?"
"Yeah," Liam said. "I offered, didn't I?"
Grace bit her lip, her eyes still focused on her hands. "I mean... I appreciate it, but..." She trailed off, glancing up at him with a doubtful expression. "Do you actually know what you're doing? Like, really?"
