I was falling, my daughter clinging to me as if she couldn't literally fly and teleport. I quickly stabilized us and guided us to a building. I pulled two sabers, igniting one and stabbing it into the side to slow our fall. We were in a large smoggy, neon light city. The place wasn't immediately recognizable, however I could make a good guess based on the environment, the few flying vehicles, and the large holographic koi fish swimming through the air.
Close to the ground I deactivated my saber and pushed off the side of the building, activating my jets and carrying us to a large ledge across the street. We landed and I immediately connected my suit and the AI to the internet, where we were attacked by multiple enemies at once with my overpowered Star Wars droid based AI annihilating most attacks instantly.
I pulled up a map of Night city and plotted a route to a place I knew well. Misty's Esoterica was nearby in Watson as we had landed near corpo plaza in city center. The year was 2074 and many things I remembered from the game didn't yet exist. I searched for the biotechnica hq heist and found nothing so that cat girl was likely still alive and Lucy was probably still with Arasaka.
I was already forming plans for my stay in this world and the first was a place for us to stay. Mega Build H10 was perfect as it was close to many things including Viks place. I needed to get a good read of the tech level of this world as it probably has certain better cybernetics than what I had gathered from Star Wars and fallout. It was very likely that there are some eyes better than what I was now.
With a bit of a plan made I set my AI to gathering some money online and erasing my presence here in city center. After a few minutes of travel from building to building my AI notified me of it hiring Delamain services including a car to pick us up nearby. I quietly dropped down to it and detached Rena from me and we got a ride to Misty's. On the way I got a few months in a luxury penthouse in Megabuilding H10. My AI had already made me massively rich, a multi millionaire and getting close to billionaire. I also had my AI make us some IDs with me a young ex corpo father and Rena my daughter form a dead mother.
When we got to the street we got out at the roadway entrance instead of Misty's as I'd already check and found it wasn't open at this time. It was nighttime so that made since, however Viks was open as he pretty much never turned down anyone and was open most hours a day. I don't know how he did it but he was practically keeping half the people of these streets alive all by himself.
As we walked in I found that the area that was gated in the game was also a sliding wall for privacy. We sat there for a few hours as I looked around the internet and Rena connected a tablet device pulled from my storage and started playing a game. After 3 hours a large older man walked out with all cybernetic limbs. He smiled at Rena and gave me a nod and exited as Vik walked up to us.
"You're a new face around here, specially with a little one with ya. What're you looking to get for your self? My shops scanners say you got some decent custom eyeware, and some kind of cranial implant. Maybe a better quality prosthetic for that hand of yours?"
Huh, he has some good scanners here I guess. Seeing through my armor and such be pretty hard, then again, I had been sitting here for a few hours. He also wasn't exactly like I remembered. That was ignorable though as this was a few years before the game. I stood and led Rena inside as Vik plopped into his chair.
"Well doc, from what I've found you're about the only ripper in this city I'd trust to operate on me. I'm in the market for some chrome. I definitely want some better eyes, brain tech and definitely a better hand. I'm also looking into some other stuff, but it all needs to stay off the record. I also have some medical tech and knowledge to give you as an investment of sorts."
"Sorry choom, but I'm an independent ripper. I don't really do investments. Everything else I'm happy to help with however."
"That's fine doc. Think of it as a gift for all the good you do. Additionally the tech and knowledge will help me as well as I'll have an actual doc looking over it. I'll also need some tests run on some materials I own to see if they can be used in my chrome. It's all helped that I'm willing to pay you a massive amount for this." I said with a shrug. He snorted in amusement and likely a bit of disbelief so I sent him 10k eddies, and the blueprints of an auto-doc and other knowledge I planned to work with.
He gave a bit of a spit take at the eddies and nearly went bug eyed at the other stuff. He just stared at the stuff I'd given for a minute before snapping back to focus on me.
His eyes gained an intense focus as he looked at me. "You're not messing around are choom? What exactly are you looking for? Chipped, cybered-up, or just some replacements for what you got."
"I'm looking for multiple things but right now I just want to know if you can give me better than what I have now."
He nodded his head to me and gestured for me to take a seat at the medical chair thing. "Flick me the specs of your stuff and I'll see what I can do."
After marveling at the robust hand prosthetic for a bit he got to work in my new set of eyes and some basic chrome. I got the best Oracle optics he had as they just barely beat out my own eyes. I had a second heart installed as it would save me from many ways I could die. Nano-plating for obvious reasons. Optical Camo as it paired well with the other stealth tech I'd be making. After all that I paid an absolute fortune for the best lynx paws I could possibly get. Five hours of surgery later Rena and I walked out after I gave Vik some more knowledge and some more money.
What I planned would require lots of stuff and I was happily paying him multiple fortunes for it to be acquired and taken care of. We arrived at H10 and were guided to our new penthouse. I quickly shooed the guy away and ordered some tech. Rena ran around the place as I directed loaders delivering my machines. I first needed to handle security for Rena and I before I could start anything and it started with droids. After organizing the machines my AI erased anything unwanted from the tech before I started up production.
After the droid creation process started I threw Rena in the shower while I made us some dinner. After her wash we ate and she passed out on the largest bed in the penthouse. I washed up and eventually joined my daughter in the realm of dreams.
