Chapter 125 - "A True Man Never Looks Back from An Explosion. He Looks Forward."

When they first arrived in this world, they saw almost no farmland. They speculated that the mechanical race might have other means of obtaining food, or perhaps they had burned all the crops to create the wilderness when the Ten Thousand Races Arena began.

But none of that mattered now.

What mattered was moving quickly to clear out these warehouses.

Having done this once before, they were already familiar with the process.

They dropped a silence button, then fired a few shots to kill the warehouse guards.

Chen Jiang loaded everything into his space bracelet, while Scar Dog opened nearly a hundred phantom gates. He transferred the contents of the space bracelet to the base of the world tree, then returned.

The entire operation was remarkably efficient.

With minimal communication, the group seamlessly cleared out three living supply warehouses and one energy block warehouse.

Li Hao had already memorized the map between the city and the world tree on his way here, so there was no need for him to draw it again. Scar Dog simply needed to consume an energy block to quickly activate the passage between the two locations.

Standing nearby, Zhao Ritian watched the group efficiently and silently clear out one warehouse after another, clearly bewildered.

These people... they seem so practiced.

They must have done this many times before.

Soon, the city's warehouses containing living supplies were completely emptied.

Chen Jiang and the others once again passed through the phantom gate to reach the warehouse filled with TNT.

In truth, while the TNT was tempting, it wasn't as crucial as they had initially thought.

The main reason they wanted to take the TNT was to prevent it from being detonated later, which would kill all the nearby mechanical race members.

This would cause many mechanical race members who should have been killed by them to die prematurely, wasting blood sacrifice points and human race merit points.

And the human race had always been a very frugal race.

Waste is unacceptable.

The TNT warehouse was heavily guarded, but after deploying the silence button, they had successfully concealed their movements.

Yet, an unexpected incident occurred.

While looting the third warehouse,

the alarm suddenly blared.

A man with a mechanical head had taken a point-blank shotgun blast to the chest. Instead of dying instantly, his pupils flashed crimson, and he exploded violently.

The moment the man's eyes flickered,

Scar Dog sensed danger. He activated the phantom gate and escaped unscathed.

But the instant the man's head detonated, the warehouse alarm blared throughout the facility!

Soon after, they heard chaotic footsteps approaching outside the warehouse, followed by the roar of vehicles arriving.

"We've been discovered. Let's go," Chen Jiang said, shaking his head as he stepped toward the phantom gate beside him.

The next moment, the group materialized a kilometer away from the dormant volcano.

As they vanished from their original location, a phantom gate composed of swirling white mist slowly materialized in the sky above the city.

Immediately afterward, a massive cannon barrel, fully three meters in diameter, slowly extended from the phantom gate, aiming directly at the city built on the volcanic crater below.

As the red patterns on the cannon barrel flashed violently,

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Deafening explosions erupted abruptly!

Giant light bullets, each three meters in diameter, rained down on the city at a rate of 6,900 rounds per minute, unleashing a devastating carpet bombing.

In mere seconds, the city—caught completely off guard with no warning—was subjected to the impact of hundreds of missiles.

For any city, especially one built on a volcanic crater, this would be a catastrophic blow!

And so it proved to be.

Before anyone in the city could react, they found themselves instantly engulfed in searing flames.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A kilometer away, Zhao Ritian turned in terror to stare at the eruption from the volcanic crater behind him.

Even from a kilometer away, Zhao Ritian could feel the searing heat on his back and the ground trembling slightly.

But before he could take a closer look, a sharp slap landed squarely on his forehead.

"Don't turn around," Scar Dog said, his expression displeased as he smacked Zhao Ritian's head. "A real man never looks back at explosions. Keep your eyes forward."

Zhao Ritian blinked in surprise, rubbing his head as he glanced at Chen Jiang, Li Hao, and the others.

He saw them walking calmly forward, their faces serene as if the explosion behind them didn't exist, radiating an air of composed indifference.

Before he could react, a phantom gate materialized directly ahead, formed from swirling white mist. An arm stretched out from the gate, clutching what appeared to be a camera.

Click! Click! Click!

A flash of white light accompanied a rapid series of shutter clicks.

The phantom gate vanished.

Scar Dog, looking pleased, handed a photo to Brother Jiang. "This one's great too! Very memorable!"

In the photo, Chen Jiang stood in the center, wearing a brown, hard-brimmed felt hat, a bloodstained white shirt, and sleek black suit pants. He leaned casually on a cane, his expression calm and composed as he strode forward.

The hem of his shirt was tucked slightly into his waistband, accentuating his tall, upright posture.

His figure formed a striking contrast against the backdrop: a massive, fiery volcano spewing flames and thick smoke that dominated the frame.

He looked like a peace envoy emerging from the chaos of war.

Li Hao stood on the far left, his face turned slightly to the side. The light highlighted the sharp angles of his profile as he cracked his knuckles, giving him the air of a challenger fresh from the arena.

Scar Dog, a faint, cold smirk playing on his lips, casually slung a shotgun over his shoulder. An unlit cigarette dangled from his mouth, and the top two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a chest crisscrossed with scars.

He looked like a victor fresh from the battlefield.

The screen showed only Zhao Ritian, his expression terrified, his steps unsteady as if he were being forced forward while turning his head halfway back.

Clearly, he still wanted to see what was happening behind him.

"Zhao Ritian," Scar Dog said, his tone slightly annoyed. "Your aura is so weak. Can't you be more composed? You're dragging down the rest of us."

"Uh..." Zhao Ritian's eyes flickered with confusion as he weakly shrank his neck. "Sorry, I didn't realize you were taking photos."

"I'll be more careful next time."

Li Hao stood quietly to the side, a faint smile playing on his lips. When he had first joined the group, he hadn't known about this either.

But now he understood how to cooperate with Scar Dog to capture the exact kind of photos Scar Dog wanted.

After all, even though Brother Jiang always seemed annoyed by Scar Dog's antics, whenever Scar Dog asked to take a photo, Brother Jiang would reluctantly agree.

Just like with the photo they had taken earlier.
