Chapter 78 - Chapter 77, Fifth Plant

Xie Sen's mouth gaped open in surprise. The Flying Lion Beast was the Beast God? They said the Beast God was angry—was it the Flying Lion Beast?

The Flying Lion Beast roared at Ferser and the others. It was standing next to Xie Sen, and Xie Sen understood its meaning: "I told you, I'm not the Beast God!"

Ferser didn't understand the Flying Lion Beast's meaning, but after a moment of self-pity, he excitedly said, "The Beast God hasn't abandoned us! I saw it! The Devil Flower on the Holy Mountain has been destroyed, and everything will return to normal."

Xie Sen blinked. The Devil Flower? Did it mean the sunflower? He glanced at the small golden flower on his right shoulder, and inexplicably felt like laughing.

Long Teng scratched the back of his head: "That's the Flying Lion Beast, Maine's bond beast, not called the Beast God. It's strange that you're kneeling like that."

Kneeling wasn't common on Brant Star; kneeling was a very important matter, and under normal circumstances, people wouldn't kneel.

Xie Sen couldn't help but say, "Why don't you stand up and talk? You might have misunderstood something. Didn't you say before that the Beast God abandoned you? Why are you suddenly calling the Flying Lion Beast God?"

Ferser hesitated for a moment. Xie Sen was really not used to so many big guys kneeling in front of him. He said, "The Flying Lion Beast also wants you to stand up." He rubbed the Flying Lion Beast's side leg. "Nod and let them stand up."

The Flying Lion Beast immediately nodded its big head and roared in a deep voice, "Trouble."

Ferser and the others looked at Xie Sen in shock and hurriedly stood up from the ground. "My God, you can communicate with the Beast God? So you really are divine messengers!"

Xie Sen waved his hand. "No, it's not the Beast God, and we're not divine messengers. Let's get down to business. You came here to find us?"

Ferser nodded solemnly. "Yes, the day after you left the forest, the Lion Clan was attacked by wild beasts. Not only the Lion Clan, but many tribes were attacked. The wild beasts came out of the Holy Mountain and targeted the orcs. Many people were injured. Kawi said that your medical skills are very high, and we need your help."

"Our Eagle Clan was sent out to find a safe habitat, to search for you, and to gather intelligence on the Holy Mountain."

Xie Sen frowned, surprised by the chaos. He felt a pang of guilt; ultimately, the effects of the wood energy were partly his fault.

He looked at Maine and the other two: "I need to go back and help them."

Maine had no objection. Long Teng laughed: "Finally, we can fight! I'll go chase away all those beasts!"

Bai Jiao said: "I've gathered a lot of hemostatic herbs; they should be useful to them."

The four of them made a quick decision and climbed back onto the backs of the Flying Lion and Flying Dragon beasts. The two S-rank contracted beasts were incredibly fast, and Ferser and the others couldn't keep up at all, falling far behind.

As they approached the Lion Clan's territory, the two beasts began to descend. The stench of blood filled their nostrils, and upon closer inspection, they discovered that even near the spaceship, there were the corpses of wild beasts.

The Flying Lion roared in mid-air, followed by a Dragon's Roar. The two roars shook the heavens and earth, carrying a strong pressure. The beasts in front of the tribe froze, sensing the approaching danger, howling and retreating, fleeing in panic.

The lion warriors, now in their beast forms, looked up and saw a flying lion and a flying dragon each carrying two people landing on the ground. The warriors were stunned for a moment, then, regaining their senses, roared excitedly, instantly transforming back into human form and kneeling on the ground, shouting, "The Beast God has come! The Beast God hasn't abandoned us!"

Xie Sen couldn't help but facepalm. Mei Yin helped him down from the flying lion, while Long Teng and Bai Jiao also dismounted from the flying dragon.

Long Teng glanced back; the ground was covered in the chaotic footprints of wild beasts. "It's over? I haven't even made a move yet!"

The flying lion scratched the ground with its claws, slightly agitated, and roared, "I'm not the Beast God! Troublesome humans."

Xie Sen soothed it with a gentle rub. Liu Chen emerged from the tribe, and seeing they were unharmed, looked at the flying lion with surprise: "They formed a bond?"

Mei Yin nodded, saying nothing more.

Xie Sen used his old method to get the Flying Lion Beasts to cooperate, successfully rousing the Lion Clan. Kawi looked excited yet worried. Before he could say anything more about the Beast God, Xie Sen asked directly how things were.

"Our tribe has high combat strength, so the situation is okay, but many people are injured," Kawi said.

Xie Sen immediately made a decision: Long Teng would stay behind with Bai Jiao to treat the wounded, while he, Maine, and the Flying Lion Beasts would go to help the other nearby tribes. Kawi volunteered to lead the way, but he was slow. After much persuasion from Xie Sen and the threat of the Flying Lion Beasts' roars, he finally sat on one of the beasts in fear.

Following the principle of proximity, they started with the tribes with weaker combat strength, helping them one by one. The Flying Lion Beasts were fast and possessed immense power among the beasts, making the task of driving away the beasts very smooth.

To Xie Sen's surprise, he received a lot of gratitude energy from each tribe he visited. Unexpectedly, the fifth plant activated.

"Congratulations, Master, Black Fungus activated. One fungus for every unit of energy. The absorption power is up to you."

A warm feeling spread through his mind, and the hard green book slowly unfolded in his mind. On the fifth page, a four-lobed black fungus appeared, each lobe large and soft, looking very elastic.

Absorption power? Xie Sen pondered, what use could this be?

Before he could figure it out, he arrived at another tribe. He temporarily shut down the system, deciding to think about it later when he had free time.

He visited quite a few tribes in a row. Fortunately, they were orcs, not real humans. Each tribe had strong fighting power, and the beasts had exhausted a lot of energy by the time they arrived. There was also infighting among the beasts. Although there were some losses in the tribes, no tragedy occurred.

Xie Sen was very happy to see his energy rapidly increasing. He had been worried about running out of energy, but suddenly he had more than two hundred. However, the energy display was a little different from before.

At the bottom of the blank sixth page, 10/213, a plus sign appeared after the total energy. He looked over and a reminder immediately appeared.

"Activate the sixth plant? Yes/No."

This means the sixth plant, like the first, only requires ten energy points, but it's now controllable, not automatically activated once the energy is reached.

He suddenly remembered what Adan had said: after activating all the plants corresponding to the five elements and their colors, plants with repeated or off-colors will appear. So, according to the pattern, the sixth plant should still be a red plant. He thought for a moment, then decided not to activate it directly, deciding to observe the situation and activate it only when it was safe and no energy was needed. He

pulled himself out of his thoughts and asked Kawi, "Are there any tribes near the Holy Mountain?" Although he hadn't seen any tribes on the way to the Holy Mountain, they might be in other locations, not on their route.

"No, the Holy Mountain is only safe during the rainy season; it's very dangerous at other times. Tribes are built far from the Holy Mountain, and the more powerful the tribe, the closer it is to the Holy Mountain."

Xie Sen understood; the Lion Clan was a powerful tribe, and the tribe they had just visited was farther from the Holy Mountain than the Lion Clan.

"Why do you say the Flying Lion Beast is the Beast God?" he asked curiously.

Kawi's expression was one of reverence: "This was passed down from our ancestors. It has been on the Holy Mountain for a long time, guarding its peace. There are many stories circulating on the Yamu Continent about beast gods helping the beastmen."

Xie Sen said, "So when you saw the Holy Mountain was not peaceful before, you thought the beast gods were angry?"

"No, we heard it," Kawi said seriously. "We heard the roar of the Beast God, a continuous, angry roar. This has never happened before. It's enraged and no longer protects the Holy Mountain. The Holy Mountain has lost its peace, and we have lost our refuge." His eyes lit up as he spoke. "Did you appease the Beast God? Is the Holy Mountain about to return to peace?"

Xie Sen thought to himself, "Come to think of it, the Flying Lion Beast really does resemble the Beast God. After all, it genuinely wanted to destroy the sunflower, and its anger was real, though directed at the sunflower.

" The Flying Lion Beast snorted, "I'm not the Beast God."

Xie Sen chuckled. "They revere you, don't you like that?"

"I prefer to be alone. I hate them bothering me. They always say 'Beast God bless us…' whenever something happens, it's so noisy." The Flying Lion Beast was somewhat agitated.

Xie Sen smiled and rubbed its neck. The first time he saw it acting so silly, now it seemed like a complete misunderstanding.

They only returned to the Lion Clan tribe after finding no trace of wild beasts in the tribe they had visited.

Xie Sen and the others didn't leave the Yamu Continent immediately; they decided to stay and help for the time being. Bai Jiao found a hemostatic medicine, sent people to collect it, and taught the tribe how to use it, making it extremely popular.

Xie Sen couldn't offer much help in treating the illness, so he focused on using any available technology of the era to improve their lives.

This incident was closely related to him, and since they were going to take the flying lion beasts away, he felt he had to do something.

Xie Sen felt it wasn't safe for the beastmen to always move to the Holy Mountain, as it was infested with wild beasts. Although Kawei said that wild beasts rarely attacked people during the rainy season, it was still dangerous. He and Maine discussed the possibility of digging a pit to divert the flow of blood on the spaceship.

Long Teng, having nothing to do, played with the Flying Dragon Beast and the Flying Lion Beast. Around lunchtime, he excitedly ran to the kitchen, holding up something in his hand: "Ah Sen, how about we have this for lunch?"

Xie Sen, looking at the little crocodile in his hand, instinctively backed away: "Where did you catch this? I don't know if it's edible; I don't know how to cook it."

"A crocodile! Since it's a fish, it must be edible. I used to think it looked ugly and wouldn't taste good, so I never tried it. But durians look ugly too, but they taste delicious. Maybe this one is good!" Long Teng's eyes sparkled.

Xie Sen said, "Release it. I don't want to eat it. For lunch, we'll have stewed potatoes and pork, and stir-fried pork with chili peppers. If you eat it, I won't cook for you."

Long Teng was a little regretful, but upon hearing the lunch menu, he immediately said, "Okay, I'll release it right now."

Xie Sen reminded him, "Also, call Ah Jiao back for lunch."

Long Teng responded and got off the spaceship. He had the Flying Dragon Beast take him to the river to release the little crocodile, and then went to the Lion Clan tribe to find Bai Jiao.

The tribe firmly believed that the Flying Lion Beast was the Beast God, and Xie Sen and his group were divine messengers, treating them with utmost respect. Long Teng randomly asked someone where Bai Jiao was, and that person immediately led him there.

Bai Jiao was inspecting herbs drying outside a simple hut. Beside him was a tall man, the recovered Kabu, who followed closely, constantly asking questions.

Long Teng was about to call out to Bai Jiao when he noticed Kabu's burning gaze on her and, for some reason, felt a little unhappy.
