Chapter 100 - Chapter 99 Destroying the Corpse and Covering Up the Evidence

When Xie Sen heard the word "bastard," his lips twitched. Besides Black Panther, Tuan Tuan also suffered from the aftereffects of watching TV dramas. He began to seriously consider whether he should ban them from watching certain programs.

After Tuan Tuan finished speaking, Xie Sen's expression instantly changed, and he couldn't help but grit his teeth. It was Meyer again!

Maine's eyebrows twitched slightly. Knowing that Zhao Hao was aware of Xie Sen's abilities, he didn't mince words and asked directly, "What did Tuan Tuan say?"

Xie Sen looked at him, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "They found the escapees. They're contacting Lieutenant General Keith."

Maine's expression remained unchanged, and he sneered, "This kind of thing is really in line with his style." He looked at Zhao Hao, "Are you confident against him?"

Zhao Hao, with an upright air and a serious expression, said, "No matter who you are, breaking the law will be punished by law." He looked at Tuan Tuan, "Where are they?"

Tuan Tuan flapped its wings and flew forward a little. Zhao Hao contacted his subordinates, taking four with him, while the rest stayed behind. Xie Sen originally intended to go with them, but Tuan Tuan stopped him.

"Ah Sen, you need to rest," Tuan Tuan said. "I'll take the Rhinoceros Beast Master. There are only four bad guys left."

Zhao Hao summoned the Giant Rhinoceros Beast, which nuzzled Xie Sen, first congratulating him on his pregnancy, then saying, "Go back and rest. Don't worry, I can relay Tuan Tuan's message to Ah Hao. He'll definitely catch the bad guys."

Tuan Tuan flapped its wings: "That's right! We won't let those who harm our contracted beast partners get away with it!"

Xie Sen looked at Zhao Hao and his men. They were all tall, muscular but not bulky, and clearly very skilled. Although he felt fine, he knew Zhao Hao would be concerned for him, and if he went with them, he would only be a hindrance.

He said, "Contact me if anything happens. I'm going back now. Be careful."

Zhao Hao and his men left with Tuan Tuan.

The head of the research base was sitting tensely in the co-pilot's seat of the shuttle, wearing headphones and listening to the roaring sounds coming from inside.

"Even particle cannons couldn't kill the Flying Eagle Beast, what a waste! The Flying Eagle Beast escaped, and Lu Qingxing couldn't even find it, so Zhao Hao brought people here!"

The person in charge's voice trembled slightly: "The Giant Armored Beast is too good at digging pits. After we dealt with the Flying Eagle Beast, we searched underground for a long time. The underground passages are so winding and twisting, we couldn't find anything..."

"Shut up, how many people are left now?"

The person in charge: "Two subordinates and the chief researcher, a lieutenant general. There are special operations team members guarding the return route. We can only go to the Klin Border."

Meyer almost laughed out of anger. This idiot, coming to the Klin Border, is he afraid that others won't know that he has a connection with the research base?

He said in a deep voice, "There's a small spaceship twenty kilometers east of the energy station. Take the lead researcher to Brux. I'll contact you later."

The person in charge breathed a sigh of relief and flattered him, "Lieutenant General, you're brilliant! So you had a backup plan all along. The base also has a spaceship, but Zhao Hao's arrival was too sudden; we didn't have a chance to use it."

Meyer snorted coldly, "Didn't you report significant progress in your research earlier? Send me the research data and protect the lead researcher."

The person in charge and the lead researcher exchanged a glance, "Lieutenant General, you won't abandon us, will you?"

Meyer's tone was certain, "Of course not. Once things calm down, we'll find another place to continue our research. You have experience; I need you."

The person in charge said, "Serving the Lieutenant General is our honor."

"This spaceship is exempt from inspection. Hurry up and don't let Zhao Hao catch it. Contact me again when we get to Brux." After

hanging up, the lead researcher copied the research data and sent it to Meyer. Soon, they arrived at the place Meyer had mentioned and indeed saw a small spaceship.

The four of them looked disheveled, but their eyes lit up when they saw the spaceship, and they ran towards it.

"Ah..." The person in charge was running in the lead, but after only a few steps, he was pecked by a black bird the size of a palm. The shock outweighed the pain.

The other three were also pecked by birds. These birds were common on Brant, never attacking people unless provoked, and their attacks were weak. This sudden behavior was very strange.

"Boss, what's going on?" one of his subordinates asked while shooing away the birds.

The person in charge fired a shot at the black bird, which quickly dodged and flew away. He ran forward: "Whatever, let's get on the spaceship first."

The lead researcher followed suit, also using his gun to scare away the black bird, panting as he ran: "Birds can communicate with each other. They're probably here for the Flying Eagle Beast."

"Heh," the person in charge sneered, "I can drive away the Flying Eagle Beast, these little birds are no match for me."

A sharp bird cry rang out, and the little bird he said was no match for him flapped its wings and quickly flew to his face, pecking his right cheek until it bled.

The person in charge cursed and swung his hand to hit it, but the little bird flapped its wings and flew far away. He touched his face and said angrily, "Hurry up and leave."

The lead researcher also realized something was wrong: "Don't worry about anything, get on the spaceship quickly, they seem to be preventing us from leaving."

As soon as he finished speaking, the other three were shocked. Were birds this smart?

They dared not delay any longer, took off their clothes and ran while waving to keep the birds away. If any bird rushed over recklessly, they would scare it away with their guns.

The four boarded the spaceship, and the last one closed the door and collapsed into his seat, panting heavily.

Tuan Tuan flew ahead to lead the way for Zhao Hao. Along the way, birds would occasionally fly over to communicate with it.

Following the location relayed by its companions, Tuan Tuan led Zhao Hao and the others forward. Ten minutes later, another small bird flew over, and after communicating with Tuan Tuan, it cried out anxiously.

After listening to the giant rhinoceros's report, Zhao Hao's eyes sharpened: "Speed up, they are preparing to leave on the spaceship."

When they reached their destination, they saw the spaceship take off. Without thinking, Zhao Hao fired two shots, but failed to stop the spaceship.

A flock of small black birds chirped and chattered to Tuan Tuan, explaining the situation and indicating they had done their best. Tuan Tuan thanked them, flapped its wings, and the black birds scattered and flew away.

Zhao Hao's face was grim. He activated his bracelet and contacted the nearest spaceport garrison. The four people on the spaceship, seeing Zhao Hao and his companions transformed into ant-like figures, laughed triumphantly.

"Hahaha, chase them! Try chasing them again if you dare..."

"Boom..." The laughter and unspoken words were swept away by the explosion, never to be uttered again.

"Boss!" Zhao Hao's subordinate instinctively called out. Zhao Hao stopped contacting them and looked up at the sky.

The spaceship was blown to pieces, gray smoke and red flames mingling together before quickly dissipating in the air, the wreckage falling to the ground with a whoosh.

Qiao Ke stared at the explosion site: "Destroy the evidence."

In the rest room of Lieutenant General Klin Border, Meyer watched the scene in the video, a satisfied smile playing on his lips, before destroying the video data. Nothing was left behind; no one would suspect him.

He tapped his bracelet lightly. Once he got back, he could secretly transfer and completely erase all this data, and everything would be fine. With the research data, his research could continue, and when he succeeded, everyone would praise him.

While on the road, Xie Sen and Maine received a call from Zhao Hao. Upon learning the results, the two exchanged a glance. Xie Sen asked, "Isn't there any evidence pointing to him?"

Zhao Hao replied, "No, he's very careful."

Xie Sen, thinking of the contracted beasts that had turned into alien beasts, gripped the back of the seat in front of him: "It's impossible for there to be no trace at all. He built a base for illegal research; it's impossible

for it to all fall apart at the last minute. The research data certainly wasn't completely destroyed." He paused: "Is there a way to hack into his bracelet?" "A general's bracelet is heavily protected; it's impossible to hack into it. Forced hacking is a crime, but..." Zhao Hao paused, then continued, "I have an idea. I'll contact you later."

Xie Sen hung up the call and poked Maine's back: "Will he escape punishment?"

Maine replied confidently, "No."

Xie Sen hesitated before asking, "Will you... be sad?"

A cold glint flashed in Maine's eyes as he grabbed Xie Sen's hand: "If the sentence is too lenient, I'll be angry."

Xie Sen breathed a sigh of relief and squeezed his fingertips: "Me too," he smiled, "I'm your family, and so is Baby."

"Yes." Maine's eyes were filled with warmth.

The two first went to the First Hospital to see Lu Qingxing and the giant armored beast. Lu Qingxing was not in mortal danger, but he was in a coma.

Long Teng sat on the seat by the bed, greeted them, and peeked behind them: "Where's A-Jiao?"

Xie Sen briefly explained the situation, and Long Teng immediately said, "I'll go find A-Jiao."

Xie Sen grabbed Long Teng, who was running out, and gestured to Lu Qingxing: "Have you contacted his family?"

Long Teng scratched the back of his head and whispered, "I forgot."

Xie Sen smiled helplessly and let go of his hand: "You go first, I'll contact them." After he finished speaking, he looked at Mei Yin questioningly. Mei Yin had investigated Lu Qingxing and must have Lu Qingxing's family's contact information.

Maine said, "I'll contact them."

The giant armored beast, covered in mud, stood guard by the bedside, its large eyes wide as it softly called out, "Ah Sen."

Xie Sen touched its scales: "Ah Sen is really amazing, thank you for your hard work."

The giant armored beast shook its head: "I was digging a pit at the time, I wasn't paying attention, and I couldn't stop Qingxing. If the gun had hit me, I definitely wouldn't be in any danger," it said self-reproachfully, "If only I had reacted faster."

Xie Sen comforted it: "It's not your fault. So many people were looking for you, and you and Lu Qingxing managed to escape thanks to you digging the tunnel. You're already very capable." He smiled, "Don't worry, I've already asked the doctor." "It wasn't a fatal wound, just excessive blood loss. She'll wake up tomorrow."

The giant armored beast said, "Yes, Ah Sen is pregnant, you should go and rest. I can stay here."

A little while later, Lu Qingxing's brother came to the ward and thanked Xie Sen repeatedly, "Qingxing should have thanked you properly for forming the contract, and thank you again for this."

Xie Sen felt guilty; Lu Qingxing's trip to the Licheng Ruins was largely due to him. "You're welcome."

Lu's brother said, "It's getting late. You're pregnant, you should rest early. I'll stay here."

Xie Sen nodded silently, feeling as if all living beings knew he was pregnant. He said goodbye to the giant armored beast and left the hospital with Mei Yin.

On the shuttle, Maine planned the flight route and asked, "What do you want for dinner?"

Xie Sen thought for a moment, "There are still half potatoes left from lunch, so let's make potato stew with meat, then stir-fried vegetables, and scrambled eggs with tomatoes."

Maine said, "Go take a shower when we get home, I'll cook," he turned to look at Xie Sen, "Don't make me worry."

Xie Sen put his hand on his shoulder, "Okay, I'll do it your way."

After returning, Xie Sen first went to see the Flying Eagle Beast, and seeing that it was in good condition, he was relieved. He asked Bai Jiao, "Have you had dinner?"

Bai Jiao: "I ordered takeout and ate, but A-Teng hasn't eaten yet."

Long Teng was looking at the bracelet, struggling to decide what to eat, when he heard this, his eyes lit up: "A-Sen, have you and Maine eaten?"

Xie Sen smiled, "No, we'll eat together later."

After Long Teng finished eating, he took Bai Jiao home, and Xie Sen took a walk in the apartment for a while before going to sleep.

The next morning, when Xie Sen was eating, Maine told him that all the contracted beasts in the lab had been sent to the accommodation area, and Tuan Tuan and the giant tiger beasts had all returned.

After finishing his breakfast, he first checked on the Flying Eagle Beast. It was recovering well and was listening to Tuan Tuan recount the events of the previous night.

He then went to check on the other beasts. The tranquilizer's effects had worn off, and a few were frantically pounding on their cage bars, but overall, their condition was much better than the day before.

Several Giant Tiger Beasts walked around chatting with them; perhaps because of the presence of their own kind and the absence of further intense stress, they had relaxed somewhat.

A short while after Xie Sen entered the accommodation area, the beasts that had been pounding on the bars stopped and obediently lay down, extending their paws from their cages, seemingly expecting Xie Sen to touch their paws as he had yesterday.

Xie Sen hadn't originally intended to, but seeing this, he went forward to touch them. Maine stopped him, pointing to a box in the corner: "That's where the tranquilizer is; it can calm them down. Mu Lin said one injection a day for now. Shall we administer it now?"

Xie Sen nodded. Maine went to get the medicine, and Xie Sen went to help, but was stopped.

Xie Sen walked to the rightmost beast: "I didn't hear a thing last night."

Maine said, "You were too tired and slept very soundly."

Xie Sen didn't feel very tired, but then he thought about it and realized it might be related to his pregnancy; he had heard before that pregnant women were prone to sleepiness.

After giving the beasts sedatives, he asked, "Have you ordered their food?"

Maine: "Yes, it will be delivered along with the giant tiger beasts."

Not long after, the four top-tier caretakers and Bai Jiaolongteng arrived. Xie Sen stroked the eagle beast's feathers to soothe it, while the caretakers and Bai Jiao changed its dressing.

After treating the eagle beast, the four doctors left, and Bai Jiao asked, "Are all the contracted beasts in the lab with you? I'll go check on them."

Xie Sen went with him to the accommodation area: "They don't have any external injuries, but their mental state is very poor."

When Bai Jiao saw the beasts, his brows furrowed: "That's too much!"

Xie Sen sighed softly: "I wonder if they can recover."

Bai Jiao opened his bracelet: "I'll observe them and see if there's a breakthrough." He observed the cages, taking notes as he went.

A short while later, Mu Lin and Gu Luo arrived and began examining the Flying Eagle Beasts and their contracted beasts.

Xie Sen watched from the side, using his natural aura to soothe the contracted beasts. Just then, his communicator rang; it was Zhao Hao calling. After answering, Zhao Hao said directly, "Searching for evidence; I need your help."

Xie Sen asked, "What kind of help? Tell me."

After Zhao Hao finished speaking, Xie Sen understood. The wristbands of general-level officers on Brant Star are protected by law and are classified as top secret; no one can access them without authorization.

The access to each military personnel's wristband is controlled by the military headquarters. Of course, this is all private information; only when accused and applying to higher authorities, with the approval of a majority of the review group, can the military grant control.

Alternatively, if a special personnel is arrested while on duty, access can be granted and data destroyed after a meeting.

If the person responsible for control controls a military personnel's wristband without following procedures, they will be severely punished.

Therefore, as long as military personnel do not break the law or are accused, their wristbands are absolutely private and secure.

The wristbands of general-level officers are only authorized to be applied for by the three highest-ranking generals, and even then, they must be subject to prosecution. Furthermore, when the three highest-ranking generals hold a meeting and two or more generals agree to investigate the wristbands, under the supervision of the oversight committee, all protective layers of the wristbands can be removed to directly obtain the data.

Zhao Hao said, "Qiao Ke persuaded General Qiao by claiming he overheard the fugitive's communication with Lieutenant General Kess. We contacted Jie, and Jie was willing to help, but General Abben made a request."

Xie Sen sorted out his thoughts, not responding, but instead asking the question that had been bothering him: "Will this work? What if he uses a private communication device?"

Zhao Hao explained, "To prevent military personnel from knowingly breaking the law, military regulations stipulate that it is illegal for military personnel to possess private communication devices. If he were using a private communication device, he would have been reported long ago."

The late Grand Justice who formulated the regulations said this: Why use a private communication device if you don't want to do something shady?

Zhao Hao added, "Relatively speaking, the wristbands of general-level officers are quite secure. He certainly wouldn't suspect that we know he's the mastermind, much less that he'll be charged. We need to act quickly. If he comes back and tampers with the wristband, it might be too late."

Xie Sen then asked, "What are General Abben's demands?"

Zhao Hao replied, "Jay will speak to you personally."

Xie Sen quickly received a call from Jay, who said, "I'm sorry, I'm very willing to help, but my grandfather said there's a risk involved. If we can't find anything, the Abben and Joe families will be accused of colluding against the Kess family and will be investigated by the military. So, he hopes for some benefits."

Xie Sen wasn't familiar with the military at all and hadn't expected such a risk. He said, "I understand. What are General Abben's demands?"

"Grandfather hopes that outstanding generals in the Yaben family's subordinate legions will have the opportunity to form contracts with their contracted beasts," Jay added. "The contracts are free, and there will be no coercion. Grandfather said he's just trying to create opportunities; whether they have the ability or not depends on themselves."

Xie Sen said, "Okay, I agree. This isn't unreasonable, but the number of people cannot exceed the number of contracted beasts."

Jay said excitedly, "Okay, I'll tell Grandfather later." He hesitated for a moment, then said, "Hmm… actually, I have another question. Zhao Hao can communicate with the giant rhinoceros beast. Is there a way for me to communicate with Jin Yao?"

Xie Sen was taken aback. Zhao Hao and the other beast masters who formed contracts with him later all had contracted beasts that had been affected by energy, so they could communicate with their beast masters after forming contracts. But Jin Yao was different; it hadn't been affected by energy.

He thought about how Adan directly separated the red energy, but at that time the energy hadn't been fully collected. Now that all the energy had been collected, forming a unified whole of the five elements, he wondered if it could still be separated.

"I'm not sure about that. If there's a way, I'll help you," he said.

Jay: "Thank you. If you can find a way, please tell me. Jin Yao is my good brother. It would be great if I could communicate with him!"

After hanging up, Xie Sen thought for a moment and simply asked A Dan directly, explaining Jay's idea.

Adan said smugly, "Of course there's a way!"

Xie Sen voiced his earlier thought: "Separate the energy and then let the contracted beast stay with the energy?"

"Of course not," Adan explained, "Once the five elements of energy are gathered, they become a whole, a huge energy body. Even I can't easily separate them. The reason they were separated when they came to this world was to protect you, and they were also affected by the spacetime shock."

Xie Sen suddenly understood: "Then what's your method?"

"Just feed them system plants," Adan said, "System plants are converted energy. Eating plants is the same as staying next to energy, but you can better control the amount they eat."

It paused and added, "And after the energy is integrated into the plants, the aura is gentler, and the mental stimulation is much less."

Xie Sen asked, "Then how many plants would they need to eat to increase their intelligence and enable them to communicate with their master?"

Adan: "I don't know. The intelligence of each individual is different, so it's uncertain."

Xie Sen thought it made sense and nodded.

Asen loudly reminded him, "You're pregnant now, you need to eat more fruits and vegetables. Your energy hasn't been used much these past few days, you can't use it carelessly!"

Xie Sen reassured it, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing, I won't use it carelessly."

Adan said, "Asen, don't slack off! You need to collect more energy and activate more plants. Think about the previous world, there were so many plants, and you've only activated 70 so far, don't be complacent!"

Xie Sen coughed guiltily, he was indeed a little complacent, "Yes, I'll try my best. I've already thought of a good way to obtain energy, but I've been quite busy lately. Once I finish these things, I'll continue collecting."

Adan breathed a sigh of relief, "Asen is the best, keep it up!"

Xie Sen checked his remaining energy, then looked at the activated plants, and closed the system. His current energy was barely enough for him to give birth, and he didn't know if he could implement his plan to earn energy by cooking during his pregnancy, so he really couldn't use the energy recklessly for now.

When General Kess received the request for a Level One meeting, he was stunned; he hadn't received any urgent messages from the military. When he saw the reason for the application, he frowned: "A high-ranking general has been charged."

The other two generals had already agreed. Looking at the countdown on the page, he pressed "agree." Even if he refused while the other two agreed, he would automatically join the meeting once the countdown ended.

"What happened?" He glanced at General Joe and General Abbott.

General Joe was a refined man; although over a hundred years old, he looked only in his forties. He said, "Lieutenant Colonel Joe participated in a special operation yesterday and uncovered a shocking matter—contracted beasts were being illegally researched."

General Abbott said, "It's all over the internet; I know."

General Kess nodded, his heart skipping a beat at the mention of contracted beasts: "Is it related to the military?"

General Joe replied, "Yes, while tracking down a fugitive, Lieutenant Colonel Joe overheard the fugitive contacting the military; the other party was Lieutenant General Kess."

"Impossible!" Han Zheng retorted in a deep voice, a vein throbbing on his forehead. He took a deep breath to regain his composure and said again, "Impossible."

Yaben smiled: "Lieutenant General Keith's identity is special. The reason we're holding this meeting is to obtain information from his bracelet and help him clear his name."

Han Zheng's gaze swept between the two men, and he sneered: "Calling it a meeting, you've already planned this? As long as you both agree, even if I refuse, there's nothing I can do! You've violated military regulations; this is collusion!"

General Joe: "No, we didn't contact each other beforehand; we just reached a consensus on this matter." He then issued the instruction: "Do you agree to obtain access to Lieutenant General Keith's bracelet?"

Instantly, two "agree" icons appeared below the instruction. Han Zheng... With an extremely grim expression, Yaben chuckled and said, "Brother, why are you so nervous? Is there something you're really up to?"

Han Zheng pressed "Agree," staring at him, "You two will target the Kex family together. Wait for the Military Oversight Committee's investigation!"

General Joe announced, "Lieutenant General Kex's bracelet access has been transferred to the Oversight Committee. Gentlemen, see you at the military headquarters."

Soon, the three generals and six Oversight Committee members met at the military's Special Incident Handling Office. The Oversight Committee Chairman signaled to his members, "Activate the recovery procedure."

Behind him was a large screen rapidly displaying the status of Meyer's bracelet. Deleted information was being recovered, and various data scrolled by. When the percentage bar on the screen reached 100%, the Chairman asked, "What time period information do you want to view?"

At that moment, General Keith's bracelet vibrated. According to regulations, in an office of this caliber, all communications and information must be public to prevent anyone from communicating with the outside world and distorting the facts.

General Keith saw the communication alert, his jaw tightened, and he was forced to answer. The next moment, Meyer's voice came through: "Father, my bracelet's access has been restricted! How could this be?"

Keith said in a deep voice: "Military regulations stipulate that if a high-ranking general is accused, with the consent of two or more generals, the military will take over the defendant's bracelet access for investigation." "

No!" Meyer cried out in panic, "How could this be? Who accused me?"

He hadn't left a trace; everyone who knew the truth was dead. No one could possibly know!
