Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Strange Fear

"Wellness didn't attack us," Phils said, his tone heavy with thought. "If she truly wanted to harm us, she could have destroyed us with just a single thought. But she didn't. She won't ever use her power against us."

He exhaled sharply, his expression darkening. "What I don't understand," he said with restrained anger, "is why her parents left her like that. They didn't even look back at their own child."

Prince Sam crossed his arms. "Maybe the reason lies deeper — something we don't see yet."

Phils looked distant. "The spirit inside Wellness doesn't let me read her thoughts completely. I can only sense what it allows me to sense," he admitted quietly.

"So what do we do now?" Sam asked.

Phils looked up, eyes calm yet tired. "Now, we wait… for Wellness to return."

---

One week later

My body felt like stone when I opened my eyes. My vision was hazy, and my head ached as though I'd been asleep for ages.

It took every bit of strength just to lift my body from the bed.

"Finally, you're awake," Prince Sam said with a relieved smile.

As my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw Phils, Well, and Prince Sam standing around me, watching closely.

"What happened? Why are you all here? And why do I feel like I've been asleep for days?" I asked, my voice faint and sleepy.

Everyone exchanged a quick, uneasy glance.

"Tell us," Phils asked softly, "what did you dream about? Do you remember anything?"

"Yes," I said slowly, "but… why do you want to know that? It was just a dream."

"Because that dream," Phils said, "has come true." His tone was calm, but serious. "Now tell us exactly what you saw."

I hesitated for a moment. "I saw… a stone. I found it, and then suddenly, I was underwater. After that, everything went blank."

"Can you tell us where the stone is?" Prince Sam asked.

"It entered… my chest," I said awkwardly, my face burning. "Between my breasts. But I can't show you."

"Why not?" Sam asked without thinking.

My cheeks turned red, and my heart began pounding wildly. I couldn't even find the words to reply.

Before I could speak, Well glared at him sharply. "Have you no shame? She's a woman!" he said firmly, though his tone stayed composed.

"But it was just a dream," I whispered. "It's not really inside me."

Phils straightened up. "We'll step outside. Check for yourself," he said gently.

The three of them left the room. I looked down nervously — there was no stone. Nothing at all.

Outside, Prince Sam ran his hand through his hair and sighed. "You know, in all my life, no woman has ever refused to show me something so simple."

Phils and Well both gave him a side eye.

"What?" Sam raised his hands in defense. "I'm a doctor, alright? Don't look at me like that!"

Just then, I opened the door, smiling faintly. "There's nothing there. It was only a dream," I said softly.

"What?" everyone exclaimed.

"You can't see the stone?" Sam asked quickly. "Maybe only we can see it. Stop pretending and let us look."

"I don't have any power," I said nervously. "Please… I'm telling the truth."

"Then at least show Allen," Phils suggested.

"Who's Allen?" I asked.

"My wife," Phils replied simply.

"No… I can't show anyone," I said, feeling embarrassed. "I'm scared."

"She's a woman. You can show her," Prince Sam said, still teasing.

"I said no!" I snapped softly, trembling a little.

"Come on, Well, say something," Prince Sam complained. "We're the only ones talking here."

Well remained silent for a long moment, then finally said, "It's her choice. If she doesn't want to, no one can force her. Wellness, if you wish, you may leave this place for now."

"Leave? Where will she go?" Prince Sam asked.

"There's a garden outside," Well said calmly. "If she sits there for a while, she'll find peace. Forcing her isn't right."

I stood up quietly and walked toward the door. Their words echoed behind me as I stepped into the soft sunlight of the garden.

They don't understand me, I thought. Their words felt wrong. I don't know why… but something isn't right.

The garden was quiet — filled with the gentle rustle of leaves and the whisper of the wind. The peace there was unlike anything I had felt before.

---

Inside the room, tension lingered.

"She's not going to listen now," Prince Sam said, worry creeping into his tone. "And Well — he just made her even more distant. Now she definitely won't cooperate."

"Well did the right thing," Phils replied calmly. "Who are we to force her? If she chooses not to, we have no right to make her."

"So what now?" Sam said, pacing. "She has powers that could destroy our entire kingdom in a single strike!"

"That's exactly why we can't hurt her," Phils said quietly. "We can't cause her pain, or push her against her will. The moment we do, it might awaken something far more dangerous than we can handle."

He looked out the window toward the garden, where I sat among the flowers — the sun touching my face, and the air shimmering faintly around me.

"She's not our enemy," Phils whispered. "She's our only hope… if we learn to treat her right."
