Chapter 219 - Chapter 219 Physical Examination

Hero Association, Z-City Branch.

Hero Examination 6th Special Venue.

The top floor of the super-large stadium-sized venue, inside the VIP room.

Han Sen was leaning lazily on the sofa, looking down at the bustling test site through the huge one-way floor-to-ceiling glass.

He held a steaming cup of black tea in his hand, his expression content, as if he was enjoying an interesting play.

Sitting opposite him was the head of the Z-City branch, a middle-aged man with a receding hairline.

At this moment, he was carefully and restlessly rubbing his hands.

"Mr. Han Sen, this… Mr. Saitama, whom you and King recommended… is he definitely… no problem?"

The person in charge looked at the bald man below, who was wearing briefs and had a round, simple physique, his tone full of uncertainty.

In the arena, the other strong men participating in the test were all muscular, sharp-eyed, and exuded an aura of "I am strong."

Only the bald man named Saitama was looking around, appearing as if he hadn't fully woken up.

"Oh, so you're questioning my and King's judgment?"

The person in charge immediately broke out in a cold sweat: "N-not at all!"

Inside the VIP room, Han Sen took a sip of black tea, a playful smile playing on his lips: "You'll know if you keep watching."

"What you should be worried about now is whether your testing equipment here is sturdy enough, and if you've bought sufficient insurance."

The person in charge was stunned, and before he could fully grasp the meaning of that sentence, the test below had already begun.

The examiner standing by the field cleared his throat, trying to shift his attention away from the uniquely styled bald man.

He flipped through the clipboard in his hand and announced loudly: "Hero Examination first item, 1500-meter run!"

At his command, several strong men took professional starting stances, like cheetahs poised to strike.

Saitama, on the other hand, stood casually behind the line, yawning.

Bang!

The moment the starting gun fired, the strong men nearby shot out like arrows from a bowstring, creating a gust of wind.

However, even faster than them was a terrifying wind pressure that could not be caught by the naked eye!

Boom—!!!

Saitama's figure disappeared from his spot the moment the gun fired.

In its place was a devastating white shockwave, sweeping wildly along the rubber track!

"Waaah!"

The strong men who had just rushed out, before they had even run ten meters, were caught up in this strong wind, rolling together like bowling pins, and were directly blown to the edge of the field.

By the finish line, the examiner responsible for timing was about to press the stopwatch, but the strong wind made him unable to open his eyes, and he didn't even notice his baseball cap being blown far away.

When the strong wind subsided and everyone opened their eyes again.

The bald man in briefs was already standing at the finish line, grinning foolishly towards the starting line.

"Running to here should count as finished, right?"

"Uh…"

The examiner at the starting line looked at the empty starting line and the scorched, smoking track, falling into deep self-doubt.

The examiner at the finish line looked at the stopwatch in his hand, which hadn't been pressed yet, knowing that this score could no longer be recorded.

By the side of the track, several strong men who had fallen head over heels still hadn't reacted to what had happened.

Inside the VIP room, the coffee cup in the hands of the person in charge clattered to the floor, and he didn't even notice the hot coffee spilling all over his pants.

His eyes were wide, his mouth open wide enough to fit an egg, staring intently at the "harmless" bald man below.

"H-Han Sen… this…"

Han Sen put down his teacup and shrugged: "I told you to check the insurance."

In the examination hall.

Just as everyone present was in dead silence, the man in the black suit accompanying Saitama to the examination suddenly pressed his earphone and listened for a moment, then went forward and whispered to the chief examiner who was recording the scores.

The latter was first stunned, then looked towards the VIP room with eyes like he was seeing a god, showing a look of understanding.

It turned out that this unassuming and unremarkable bald contestant was a specially recruited individual designated by the association's high-ranking officials!

"Mr. Saitama, please follow me to the next test, high jump!"

The chief examiner wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead as he led Saitama to the next area.

Here, staff members who had received advance notice had already raised the measuring bar to the highest position of the equipment.

"Please begin."

"Just jump as high as I can, right?"

"Uh, theoretically, yes."

Saitama exchanged words with the examiner as he walked to the bar.

No run-up, barely bending his knees, just a light tip-toe from a standing position.

Whoosh—

Everyone just felt a blur before their eyes, and that lean figure flew vertically upwards, easily clearing the top of the bar, and then…

There was no then.

He didn't come down.

Rumble!!

A slightly muffled thud came from overhead, accompanied by fine dust and rubble falling down.

Everyone collectively twitched their eyes and looked up, following his disappearing trajectory.

They saw a lean figure, shoulders and above embedded in the ceiling, hanging in the center of the reinforced concrete dome dozens of meters high.

"...Is that contestant Saitama?!" one staff member subconsciously asked in confusion.

Everyone: "..."

A few seconds later, Saitama's figure poked his head out of the hole, then landed back on the ground with a "thud," dusting himself off.

"Does this count as passing?"

The entire high jump test area was silent, all eyes focused on the innocent-looking bald man, their gazes filled with awe and fear.

The examiner's pen slipped from his hand, falling to the ground with a crisp sound.

"Pass, definitely pass… Next item, Whac-A-Mole test!"

...

...

Hero Association Headquarters, A-City.

Disaster Countermeasures Department Director's Office.

Sitch was reviewing a confidential document regarding the recent movements of the Monster Association, his expression grave.

Suddenly, the office door was violently flung open, and the secretary stumbled in, his face full of horror.

"D-Director! Emergency report from the Z-City branch!"

"What's the panic!" Sitch frowned and reprimanded, but when he saw the name "Saitama" on the report, he paused slightly, then remembered something.

"So it's him!"

He opened the file bag and pulled out the few thin report papers.

With just one glance, his pupils contracted sharply, and he abruptly stood up from his seat, crushing the pen in his hand into two pieces.

There was no specific data on the report, because all the data fields contained the same word—

Unmeasurable.

[1500-meter run: Examiner failed to complete timing in time.]

[Standing High Jump: Composite material blast-proof dome damaged.]

[Whac-A-Mole Test: Equipment damaged.]

[Punching Power Test: Equipment damaged.]

[...]

At the end of the report was a line of summary written in the trembling handwriting of the branch head—

This contestant has exceeded the evaluation limit of the existing testing system; within his body…

A god resides.
