Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: How to deal with my brother

"Hey, if you guys want to stay in this crappy place your whole lives, that's your problem. I've had enough of this poor life."

Clark closed the car door, ready to drive the sports car borrowed from Lex away from the farm.

But Jonathan stood in front of the car, blocking his way.

"We aren't as rich as other families, but we've never deprived you or Eric of anything, whether material or spiritual. Your mother and I gave our all!"

Jonathan's words contained undisguised anger.

"I can earn millions of dollars!"

Clark got out of the car and walked to his father, holding up a few fingers. "I have extraordinary talent. The sports world and the television world would welcome me. You've been forcing me to suppress myself, always."

"We're protecting you! We don't want to lose you!"

Jonathan said, word by word.

"Protect me, or exploit me?"

Clark sneered, then got back into the driver's seat.

"I'm just one of the tools you use to run the farm, and Eric is too. The difference is, he's willing, and I will no longer accept your oppression and lies."

The key turned the ignition, and the powerful roar of the sports car's engine erupted.

"Eric will be back today, Clark. I think you two can talk."

Jonathan, in his helplessness, could only bring up Eric in the end.

"You're wrong. I—I'm fearless! Even Eric."

The Ferrari's engine roared, and it shot forward rapidly.

The stirred-up dust covered the couple's faces.

Meanwhile, at Smallville High School, in the school newspaper office.

Chloe was telling Lana and Pete about her latest discovery.

"You won't believe what I found!"

Chloe handed a newspaper to Lana. "That rebellious punk girl who's been hanging out with Clark recently is involved in a wanted case."

"Are you talking about Jessica Lopez?"

Lana took the newspaper and said, puzzled, "When she first came to school, I gave her a tour of the campus. I didn't think she was that kind of person."

"Not a suspect, but a protected witness of the Metropolis Police Department. Jessica's father is an important witness protected by the police, but his whereabouts are unknown. I've seen Jessica's father, and he looks exactly like the photo published in the newspaper."

Chloe picked up her coffee and said to them.

Lana and Pete looked at the photo in the newspaper, a middle-aged man's ID photo.

"Since he's a witness protected by the police, why wouldn't he accept police protection and instead flee?"

Pete scratched his head, asking somewhat confused.

"I don't know. Maybe there's something we don't know about."

Chloe took a sip of coffee, then showed a thoughtful expression.

"Clark has been hanging out with Jessica recently, and given his increasingly abnormal personality, if he finds out about Jessica's situation, I don't know if it will be a good thing or a bad thing."

At this moment, Clark, who was on Chloe's mind, encountered some trouble.

The Ferrari he was driving was stopped on a deserted road.

Two men wearing sunglasses got out of a car, and one of them showed Clark a state police ID.

"We're looking for a suspect. You've been in contact with her recently, right?"

The state police showed Clark a photo. The person in the photo was Jessica, the new transfer student who dressed very rebelliously and with whom he had spent the night at the bar.

"No, I've never seen her!"

Clark lied without batting an eye.

"I think you should be smarter."

The two state police officers pulled out their pistols from their waists and aimed them at Clark.

Clark smiled slightly, "So you're trying to scare me?"

Activating his super speed, he instantly snatched the pistols from their hands. "You're not police, are you?"

"How did you do that?"

"Very simple."

Clark aimed the pistol at his palm, pulled the trigger "bang, bang, bang," and all the bullets hit his palm.

The bullets couldn't penetrate the defense of his palm, and the bullet heads were flattened, falling to the ground with a "clink, clink, clank."

"You'll never know who you're up against!"

The next second, a gust of wind blew past the two men.

With mouths agape in astonishment, the two fake police officers, who hadn't yet reacted, were grabbed by their necks by Clark and lifted into the air.

"Tell me, who exactly are you?"

Clark's murderous gaze fixed on the two struggling police officers.

"We're not police! And we're not looking for Jessica Lopez, but her father."

The two, whose lives could be ended by Clark at any moment, gasped out.

"Why?"

"Simon, Simon Lopez. He stole confidential company documents. That stuff is enough to send all the executives in the company to prison for a hundred years. To recover those documents, we were hired to find him. Once the documents are recovered, we'll be rewarded a million."

The two assassins, already scared out of their wits, spilled everything to Clark in detail.

"A million?!"

Clark's eyes narrowed.

"We can split it. As long as you help us get the stuff, this money can give you a better life."

After Clark released his grip, the assassins, breathing a little easier, gasped out.

"We? Who's 'we' with you?"

Clark smiled, a fierce look in his eyes. "No one can contend with me for this million!"

He extended a finger and lightly flicked the two men's heads. They immediately felt a powerful force strike them, and both were instantly knocked unconscious.

After taking care of the two assassins, Clark's eyes focused on their car.

After activating Heat Vision, a ball of flame ignited on the car body.

The flames then quickly spread, burning fiercely on the car.

After igniting the car, Clark drove away directly.

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted!

The car exploded, instantly turning into a huge fireball.

Flames and car wreckage were blasted into the sky, then crashed down with a clatter.

The two assassins lying on the ground, being further from the explosion point, fortunately escaped unharmed.

"If Eric comes back today, he might hinder me."

Clark, speeding towards Jessica's house, narrowed his eyes and began to ponder how to deal with his brother.

kryptonite?

A thought flashed through his mind.

Although green kryptonite would weaken his strength, it would also weaken Eric.

As long as he could get Eric to touch kryptonite without touching it himself, his chances of winning would increase greatly.

Even though he now appeared fearless, he still lacked confidence in defeating Eric.

After all, he had always been the loser since childhood, and that shadow remained, even after his personality underwent a drastic change.

And regarding kryptonite, the first thing he thought of was Lana's kryptonite necklace.

Screech!

He immediately slammed on the brakes, turned the car around, and headed towards the school.

As far as he knew, Lana should still be at school at this time.
