Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Dark Clouds Over the City

Metropolis. Google Search Reading

On the outskirts of a manor.

Zatanna asked Constantine with some surprise, "How did you get away?"

The two were now standing on the outskirts of Baron Winters's manor. Zatanna looked at Constantine, asking with some surprise.

She thought this guy had finally kicked the bucket, but he unexpectedly reappeared in front of her, lively as ever.

"Actually, the magic caused limited damage to me. I still have some life-saving tricks."

Constantine took a cigarette from his pack, lit it, took a drag, and said unhurriedly, "Besides, Hell and Heaven won't take me. Maybe this time I narrowly escaped again thanks to that kind of luck."

"You must have made another deal with some demon. I heard my father say that whenever you're being hunted and fleeing in a panic, you always manage to come up with some damaging ideas to escape."

Zatanna looked at him coldly and said.

"I did save your life, Little Zha. Saying that makes me feel a little sad."

Constantine expressed a slight sense of grievance.

"Alright, let's skip this 'rubbing salt in the wound' stage. Why aren't you going in?"

Zatanna pointed at the manor standing in the night and asked, "Why not go in? Mr. Kent and Mrs. Kent are inside. Apparently, Baron Winters is very interested in the child in Mrs. Kent's belly and wants to be the child's godfather."

Baron Winters's manor exists in a space unaffected by time, so the entrance can be set anywhere.

Even appearing in Metropolis is not strange.

Constantine shook his head, "The Baron doesn't allow me into that room. Ever since I burned three people to death on his living room table, Baron Winters has never allowed me to use the main entrance again."

"Then you're not wronged at all."

Zatanna snorted coldly.

"You can criticize me later. How far has the investigation into the magic loss of control progressed? I imagine Baron Winters must have given you some advice."

Constantine asked Zatanna.

"Yes."

Zatanna nodded, "We all knew what happened before, but we knew very little about the hidden secrets behind it. The root cause of everything spiraling out of control is the debt owed by the magical world."

"I know, but the debt I owe is to the Hell faction. As far as I know, God, that old man, doesn't owe debts. He's usually the one quietly counting money."

God's power has nothing to do with Hecate; His power source is almost the origin of the universe. His strength is formidable, and debt usually has nothing to do with Him. He is more like the one who lends money.

"The Trinity Goddess Hecate stole the Upside-Down Man's magic from beyond the Source Wall and then sealed him outside. But after she passed the flame to humans, the first Prometheus betrayed her and sealed her away."

Zatanna relayed the information Baron Winters gave her, "The Trinity Goddess believes it's time to collect debts. These people used her magic without compensation and betrayed her. Unforgivable!"

"Uh-huh."

Constantine nodded, "A very sound reason. Debts must be repaid. It's only natural."

"Is that so?"

Zatanna suddenly turned her gaze to Constantine, "I heard you're neck-deep in debt. As a scoundrel who doesn't repay debts, why would you agree with such a seemingly normal view?"

"My situation is a bit complicated. Various triangular debts and unhealthy debts are all tangled up, making it hard to sort out."

Constantine explained his situation and continued to say to the other party, "People in the magical world owe her debts, and she wants to collect. But she stole the Upside-Down Man's magic, and the Upside-Down Man will also collect from her. This debt relationship is a bit complicated."

"No one is more complicated than you!"

Zatanna's lips curved slightly upward, "Alright, back to the main topic. The Trinity Goddess cannot directly descend into the present world. She needs to borrow the power of some people. She once carved curses onto human girls. These human girls, marked with the curses, would gain the power she bestowed, meaning they would become her enforcers."

"Enforcers? What is their goal?"

Constantine continued to ask.

"Their goal is the world's three major magical pillars."

Wonder Woman walked out from behind the two, followed by Kara and Green Lantern.

The one who appeared before them was clearly the future Wonder Woman.

"The three girls from Smallville, although not marked with Hecate's witch curses, if they are possessed by Hecate's followers, they still have the ability to borrow Hecate's power."

Wonder Woman said to the two, "Those three girls have completely become Hecate's accomplices in invading reality. Their goal is the three great magical pillars of this world. They will try to destroy them!"

"Why destroy the pillars?"

Green Lantern asked with some confusion.

"These three pillars are actually what the gods call them. In reality, these three pillars are magical array eyes they set up to prevent Hecate from retaliating against them."

Zatanna had clearly also received relevant information from Baron Winters.

"As long as these three magical array eyes are destroyed, Hecate can fully descend."

Zatanna said with a frown, "The first one is Nanda Parbat!"

Nanda Parbat, although it sounds similar to the League of Assassins' Nanda Parbat, is actually two different places, located one in the south and one in the north, completely distinct.

The headquarters of the League of Assassins is within the Arctic Circle, while Nanda Parbat is in Pakistan, and that is just the sorcerers' name for it. Ordinary people are more familiar with its mythological name—Shangri-La.

And Shangri-La is filled with a group of "Deadmen" who still possess wisdom and spiritual consciousness. They are all soul entities, temporarily residing in the bodies of some monks.

Shangri-La is a place where time stands still, and they serve their god, Rama Kushna, there.

Rama Kushna is an Indian god. Her level is currently unknown, as she has never displayed her abilities. Most of the time, she just wears a painted face and tells the "Deadmen" what they should do.

"The other is in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. There is a four-sided high tower, without doors or windows, a monument of order. Some call it the Tower of Fate, but in reality, it is merely a gateway, an interface used to connect reality with other dimensions."

Wonder Woman added, "Originally, Doctor Fate guarded the Tower of Fate, but now Doctor Fate seems to have been missing for many years, and it is currently unguarded."

She probably couldn't imagine that Doctor Fate was killed by the Injustice Society villains, and now the "Nabu Helmet" is being collected by Eric and has not yet begun to search for its next owner.

"Uh-huh, Shangri-La and the Tower of Fate. So where is the next place?"

Constantine took a drag from his cigarette, his eyes glinting with an unclear light, "I've guessed it. The last pillar should be..."

Saying that, he turned his gaze to Wonder Woman, "Olympus! Am I right, Wonder Woman?"

"Yes."

A complex light flashed in Wonder Woman's eyes, "Zeus was one of the first Prometheus to steal Hecate's witchfire. Of course, he's the first one who can't sleep now. Currently..."

She cast her gaze into the distance, "Those three small town girls, Louise Lane and the others, are heading to these three places separately to destroy these fulcrums. To prevent the collapse of this world, we must stop them!"

"With us magicians who can't use magic?"

Constantine, with the cigarette still in his mouth, shook his head, "I don't think things will be that easy."

"If everything were that easy, our world wouldn't have so much misfortune and helplessness!"

Metropolis "Thug Gang" headquarters, Clark's eyes emitted Heat Vision, instantly piercing through the chest of the gang member standing in front of him.

The one he killed was an opposing member of the "Thug Gang," who had come to cause trouble for the "Thug Gang" due to a conflict of interest, but was entirely eliminated by Clark, who had already taken control of the gang.

Previously, Eric had brought him to the Thug Gang, where he eliminated many gang members and brought Malcolm Merlyn into their ranks.

Clark, who was eager to establish his own power and seek revenge on the entire magical world and even Metropolis, reluctantly gave up the idea of becoming mayor under the dissuasion of Green Lantern and Kara, and began to target these dark organizations.

The "Thug Gang" before him was the first gang he had taken control of.

Clark, his eyes glowing with a reddish light, turned his gaze to Malcolm Merlyn.

"I have no interest in the difficulty of your investigation. I'm only focused on one thing right now: the whereabouts of Louise, Chloe, and Lana."

Watching the unfriendly gaze emanating from Clark's eyes, Malcolm nervously swallowed.

Facing those eyes, he felt a chill down his spine.

He had only felt this way before when facing Eric Kent, but now, facing Clark, whose eyes emitted an even more intense Heat Vision than Eric's, his inner fear increased by several points.

"I investigated Lana Blue's family records. Her family is an immigrant family that moved from France in the 19th century."

Malcolm said cautiously, "Countess Elizabeth Sorrou was indeed an ancestor of their family. She was a fervent religious believer who once performed human sacrifices, and the deity she worshipped was The Trinity and Goddess of Magic—Hecate!"

"Hecate?"

Hearing that name, Clark's brow furrowed.

"Yes, and I've contacted some friends in the magical world. Although most people are tight-lipped about it, it seems there's a magical catastrophe sweeping through the magical world, and all of this is related to Hecate."

Malcolm, the "Magician" of the League of Assassins, was not someone completely ignorant of magic.
