Chapter 345 - Chapter 345 Triton is a traitor

Although Orion's posture was a bit ridiculous and his words were crude, because of his genuine identity as the Son of the Sea God, his summons were truly effective.

Although Poseidon had many children, Orion was quite famous among the Sons of the Sea God because he had managed to win over Artemis, a chief god. Therefore, after he cried out, a wave rose from the sea. This wave surged towards the shore, quickly transforming into a giant wave.

Seeing this massive wave, the expressions on the faces of the two subordinate gods under Athena gradually shifted from arrogance to terror. As they raised their shields and erected a golden barrier on the beach, they shouted loudly to the divine army and the Athenians behind them: "Retreat! Retreat!"

Boom!

As their words fell, the giant wave had already surged onto the beach. In the face of this immense power from the sea, the barrier erected by the two subordinate gods crumbled like thin paper. Their golden barrier was shattered by the giant wave, and the two of them were swept back towards the beach by the enormous wave. The divine army and the Athenians behind them fared even worse; they collided directly in the turbulent currents and waves, falling head over heels.

On the other side, Orion, who was at the forefront of this giant wave, was completely unharmed. When the massive wave passed over his body, it seemed to gain consciousness, automatically parting. Not only that, but the power contained within the seawater and waves was absorbed by his body, transforming into nourishment for him.

However, this giant wave did not kill anyone from Athena's side. Although these Athenians appeared scattered by the giant wave, they only looked miserable.

This was not the work of Sea King Poseidon. Apart from beautiful women, the Sea King had always regarded humans as mere insects and weeds on the earth, just as humans walking would not care if they stepped on ants on the ground. When the Sea King acted, he would not care how many humans would drown in the waves he stirred up.

If he had truly intervened to protect Orion, then even if he wanted to negotiate with Athena, this giant wave would surely have drowned many Athenians; it would certainly not have been so "gentle." This giant wave made Orion feel as if the one who unleashed it was beholden to Athena, or of a lower status than her.

Recalling Ares's instructions before he came out, Orion immediately understood who the newcomer was. Sure enough, after the giant wave receded, accompanied by a white line on the sea, a sturdy young man, human from the waist up and fish from the waist down, appeared on the surface of the sea, holding a golden trident and wearing a crown like that of a prince or princess.

As soon as he appeared, he burst into hearty laughter. Then, this sturdy young man came to Orion's side, looked up at the sky, and loudly addressed the Goddess of Wisdom in the clouds:

"Respected Athena, this Orion is my half-brother. Could you please grant Triton this favor and spare his life for today?"

"Triton."

Athena's voice came from the clouds, carrying a chill:

"This man indulged his cannibalistic demons, who devoured nearly half the population of my Athens. Do you truly believe I should let him go?"

"They are just humans," Triton's tone revealed disdain for humans. "It's not a big deal. Afterwards, we Sea God will send you another batch of slaves."

"It's not just about humans. He also went to my temple and committed many blasphemous acts against my statue."

Athena raised her voice:

"He even uttered lewd words to me, a virgin goddess, attempting to defile my statue. Do you think I should spare such a brazen scoundrel?"

"What? Orion actually did such an outrageous thing?"

Triton feigned surprise, furrowing his brow as he looked at his brother beside him:

"This… Orion, this time you truly made a mistake. What kind of status does Goddess Athena have? How dare you, a mere demigod, disrespect her? You really are… Alas, it's truly difficult for me to save you this time."

Orion looked at his brother, who was feigning surprise and had decided to believe Athena without any evidence. Then he looked up at the Goddess of Wisdom in the sky, who was speaking lies without hesitation. He recalled what Ares had told him earlier.

"If Poseidon comes, you should directly weep to him about the sordid things Athena has done secretly to the sea gods."

Ares said, as he handed him a magical crystal:

"If Triton comes, hold onto this. Triton and Athena will definitely conspire to harm you. At the crucial moment, throw this crystal into the sea and shout—"

"Father! Triton is a traitor! He and Athena want to harm you!"

Orion's sudden action startled Triton beside him. He stared in astonishment as his brother suddenly pulled a crystal from his embrace and then violently threw it into the seawater.

"Nonsense!"

Upon realizing what Orion was shouting, Triton, who had a guilty conscience, immediately erupted in anger. He raised the trident in his hand, intending to pierce Orion's chest, but just as he raised his weapon, a powerful suction suddenly emanated from the seawater. Triton was unable to resist, and the golden trident in his hand was directly pulled back into the ocean.

He flapped his fishtail, attempting to escape, but a massive vortex inexplicably formed on the sea surface beneath him, trapping him firmly in place. The seawater, which he normally controlled effortlessly, now transformed into the world's most unyielding cage, preventing him from unleashing even a fraction of the divine power within his body.

Regardless of how powerful or prominent Triton was among the Sons of the Sea God, he was ultimately just a subordinate god of Poseidon, the "six-hundred-year prince" of the ocean. Normally, he could wield this authority to act arrogantly on the sea, but as soon as Poseidon appeared, Triton would lose all power to resist.

Tap, tap.

Accompanied by the sound of footsteps on the sea, Poseidon, with an angry expression and wearing a crown, emerged from the sea. In one hand, he held Triton's trident, and in the other, the crystal Orion had just thrown. He slowly approached Orion and Triton.

He first glared at his most beloved son with an angry gaze, then looked at Orion and asked:

"Orion, you say Triton betrayed me. Do you have any evidence?"

"Of course! He has long been colluding with Athena! That treacherous women, Athena, wants to harm God King Zeus, so she secretly formed factions, seeking out many chief god descendants and offspring, and promised them that once she ascended to power, they would all become prominent gods like their parents! Triton was promised the position of the next King of the Ocean!"

Orion pointed to the crystal in Poseidon's hand:

"All the evidence is in that crystal. As long as you crush it, you will see the full extent of Triton's collusion with Athena."
