Chapter 302 - Chapter 302 The Disobedient Dragon

"Pallene Peninsula?"

Hearing this place, the Heroes were all stunned, only Medea's expression became solemn.

"Medea."

Noticing the little witch's expression, Heracles asked,

"Do you know what kind of place that is?"

Medea nodded, then said, "It's not convenient for me to talk about it here, Jason, you should consider whether you want to go first."

"Can't you give me a little hint?" Jason asked shamelessly.

"Heh, you're the one who wants the golden fleece, not me." Medea turned her face away. "What's more, this golden fleece is originally my father's property, how can I betray him?"

Seeing Medea's reluctance to mention the place, Jason knew without a doubt that the Pallene Peninsula was an extremely dangerous place. However, he had already come this far, and it was impossible for him to truly turn back. Otherwise, the Heroes who had followed him through countless hardships to the Colchis Kingdom would surely be the first to kill him.

Moreover, thinking that Heracles was by his side, no matter what difficulties and obstacles he faced, he would be able to overcome them. Therefore, Jason finally nodded with difficulty:

"Since we've come this far, I certainly can't give up halfway. I hope King Aeetes will keep his promise afterwards."

"Don't worry, I wouldn't dare to break my promise."

Aeetes nodded:

"Since you all want to participate, now, please go to the Ares's Sacred Grove in our Colchis Kingdom. Medea, you lead the way for them."

What does this mean? King Aeetes is actually preparing to pay in advance. Isn't he afraid that we'll just run away after getting the golden fleece?

Upon hearing Aeetes's command, the Argo crew, including Medea, felt a deep sense of confusion. However, Medea still followed her father's orders and led the Argo Heroes to the sacred grove dedicated to Ares.

In this sacred grove, there was also a sleepless, fire-breathing dragon guarding it, the same one the Argo Heroes saw when they first landed on Colchis Island. However, this time with Aeetes's command, Medea wasn't afraid. If the evil dragon really attacked them, her magic and Heracles's strength would be enough to handle it.

However, just as the group arrived outside Ares's Sacred Grove, they did not see the huge evil dragon come out to block them.

"Strange, was it called away by Father?"

Looking at the quiet forest, Medea muttered in confusion.

She led the Heroes deeper into the forest. After walking for a while, a terrifying roar suddenly erupted from the depths of the forest.

Along with the roar, violent wind pressure caused by sound waves also rushed towards them, scattering fallen leaves in the forest and shaking tree branches. However, strangely, the Heroes heard some pain in this roar.

"It's the dragon guarding this place!" Medea shouted loudly. "Someone is attacking it!"

Jason's expression changed, and then he shouted, "Could it be that someone wants to get ahead of us and snatch the golden fleece before we do?"

As he shouted, the Heroes immediately became anxious and hurried towards Ares's Temple in the forest. However, after they had advanced a certain distance, they were so stunned by the sight before them that they stopped in their tracks.

In the open space in front of Ares's Temple, a tall and handsome man stood there. He was Ares, the War God, one of the twelve main gods whom all the Heroes had seen, and also the master worshipped in this temple.

However, at this moment, he was holding a long tail in his hand. This tail was connected to a massive dragon, which was the giant dragon guarding the Colchis Kingdom's Ares's Sacred Grove.

The War God held the Colchis Dragon's long tail as if a human were holding a toy, casually smashing the ferocious dragon against the ground, breaking countless trees in the forest. The terrifying and ferocious giant dragon had no power to resist in the hands of the God of War. The flames it spewed out weren't even enough to warm Ares.

Ares smashed it around until the ferocious dragon's painful roars turned into whimpers of submission. Only then did he throw the ferocious dragon onto the open ground in the forest.

With a loud bang, the God of War unhesitatingly used the ferocious dragon to collapse his own temple, leaving the Heroes stunned.

"Hmm?"

At this moment, Ares seemed to have also sensed the presence of these Heroes. He looked at the Heroes, then raised his palm and showed a hearty smile, shouting to them:

"Yo, it seems everyone has arrived. No one fell behind, not bad, you are all top-notch Heroes."

"Teacher."

Heracles was the first to speak. He asked,

"What are you doing?"

"Beating a dragon." Ares kicked the Colchis Dragon, which was already halfway into the underworld, with some annoyance. When he turned his head, he switched back to a hearty smile. He explained,

"This damn dragon was squatting next to my temple for some reason, and I really didn't like it."

"But the King of Colchis said it was sent by you." A Hero in the crowd shouted.

"Hmph, I don't like keeping small animals." Ares snorted, and Medea and Heracles immediately vaguely guessed who the true owner of this ferocious dragon was.

"I was originally going to kill it directly, but now I have something to do, and this dragon can barely be considered a relatively resistant cannon fodder, so I'll spare its dog life for now."

Ares said, patting the Colchis Dragon's nostrils:

"Hey, you've been conscripted. If you don't agree, I'll kill you, understand?"

The sleepless dragon was beaten so badly that its three-pronged snake head extended out. Hearing Ares's threat, it could only express its attitude by showing pleading and submission in its eyes.

Seeing this scene, Medea thought of something and asked,

"Senior Brother, did you change Father's will and make us go to the Pallene Peninsula?"

"That's right." Ares nodded and replied, "I made Aeetes temporarily change Jason's test. Actually, he originally wanted to find an excuse to trick this guy to his death."

Ares's words made Jason shiver, and he leaned slightly towards Heracles.

"You don't need to be nervous. You are protected by Hera, and I have no interest in your life." Ares said to Jason with a smile, "On the contrary, if you help me, after it's done, not to mention the golden fleece, if you want another sheep with a golden fleece, I can give it to you. How about it, are you in or not?"
