Chapter 373: The Seven First-Level God Positions Announced, Unrest, and Disputes
"Fifth, Yang Wudi, promoted from the Seventh Trial to the Eighth Trial!" Leafwen continued to announce.
"Damn, Yang Wudi really made it to the Eighth Trial," many of the Wuhun Temple experts said with dissatisfaction, but there was nothing they could do. Yang Wudi was indeed very strong in one-on-one battles, and his ranking had already risen into the top ten!
No one doubted Yang Wudi's battle power. Although they were dissatisfied, they also had to admit it internally.
"Sixth, Guangling Douluo, promoted from the Seventh Trial to the Eighth Trial," Leafwen said.
"What, Guangling Douluo? How can it be Guangling Douluo? This... this... Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader are both stronger than Guangling Douluo!"
"Why is this?"
By the time it came to Guangling Douluo, people started to argue.
Guangling Douluo's strength was indeed very powerful, surpassing most 99th-level Ultimate Douluos, but from the top five who were upgraded to the Eighth Trial, it seemed like the promotion was based on their current ranking and individual combat power.
Each of the top five had stronger one-on-one combat abilities than Guangling Douluo. So, if it was based on battle power and ranking, then Guangling Douluo had already fallen out of the top ten.
And currently, Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader were both stronger than Guangling Douluo!
Guangling Douluo was promoted to the Eighth Trial, but what about Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader?
But frankly speaking, Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader were both part of Wuhun Temple's own group. Despite the controversy, it wasn't too severe, and no one dared to raise their voice to challenge it.
After all, Leafwen had already made his decision, and as long as it wasn't a glaring injustice, they wouldn't directly protest.
"Seventh, and the last one, Poison Douluo Dugu Bo." Leafwen said calmly.
At this point, everyone was no longer calm.
"What!!!"
"F**k!!"
"Poison? Poison Douluo!! How is this possible, it's him!!"
"Are you kidding me? Poison Douluo gets to be promoted to the Eighth Trial, damn it, he's ranked lower than me, what makes him deserve it!" Snake Spear Douluo stood up in dissatisfaction.
"Yeah! Guangling Douluo is one thing, but Dugu Bo stepping on Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader to get promoted to the Eighth Trial, what's that about!"
If Guangling Douluo's promotion caused some small controversy that could be overlooked, then the promotion of Poison Douluo to the Eighth Trial was something no one could accept.
Everyone started questioning, unable to understand.
Guangling Douluo, Poison Douluo, and the powerful Xiongshi Douluo and Angel Legion Leader—how did they end up being sidelined?
Many couldn't accept this result, and those who missed the Eighth Trial, Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader, were the biggest losers.
They couldn't accept this outcome and asked Leafwen, "Beast God, we can understand Guangling Douluo, but this Poison Douluo, we can't understand why he gets promoted to the Eighth Trial!"
"We're not happy about this!"
"Please, Beast God, give us a convincing reason!!" Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader were stubborn, trying to find a reasonable explanation for the things they couldn't accept.
"Alright, I'll tell you why the last two spots are Guangling and Poison Douluo," Leafwen shrugged, knowing there would be a lot of controversy.
Then, he explained seriously, "First, my primary criterion for promoting to the Eighth Trial is strength and battle power. So, I gave five spots to the five strongest people from the Seventh Trial."
"But the last two spots, I need to consider more than just strength!!"
"More than just strength?" The crowd was initially stunned.
"Yes, I mean the role they can play in group battles, like the role they can have in a massive battle with thousands of gods. The scale of the battle could be so large, with thousands of divine-level gods clashing together," Leafwen said.
"A battle with thousands of gods!?"
The crowd was both shocked and confused.
At this point, most of the senior experts from Wuhun Temple seemed to understand.
Yes, actually, when they entered the Beast God Realm, Qian Renxue had already told them that they were very likely to fight a large-scale war with the human god realm after becoming gods.
This was something many strong figures in Wuhun Temple knew.
Leafwen continued, "In individual combat, Guangling Douluo's performance doesn't match up to Xiongshi Douluo or the Angel Legion Leader, but what about in a large-scale battle like that?"
"This..."
The crowd exchanged glances.
"Hehe, I think most of you already have an answer in your hearts, right? Yes, Guangling Douluo's role far exceeds that of Xiongshi Douluo!"
"Guangling Douluo is the strongest long-range fighter among everyone here, with the longest range, the strongest long-range damage! His accuracy is a hundred percent, able to kill enemies from tens of thousands of meters away!"
"He can remain at the back of our formation in such a massive battle, continuously launching long-range attacks, making it hard for the enemy to defend, and even easily killing powerful gods in an instant!"
"His presence on the battlefield will make the enemy tremble with fear! They'll be wary and afraid!" Leafwen said loudly.
"Thank you, Beast God, for your recognition," Guangling Douluo bowed slightly, expressing his respect.
Guangling Douluo's strength and abilities had always been great, but in the Beast God Realm, it had been difficult for him to make it into the top five. While his individual power was strong, he was even more terrifying when he worked together with others.
With just a strong attacker at the front to create space for him, Guangling Douluo's power would reach its peak. In large-scale battles, he only needed to find a safe spot at the back and focus on long-range attacks.
In such chaotic battles, his pinpoint accuracy and terrifying damage would easily kill enemies of equal strength.
"This is why I promoted Guangling Douluo to the Eighth Trial. Can you accept this?" Leafwen looked at them.
For a moment, no one spoke, and Xiongshi Douluo and the Angel Legion Leader completely accepted the explanation.
As fellow colleagues for many years, Xiongshi Douluo understood how outstanding Guangling Douluo was.
"Then, Poison Douluo also earned his Eighth Trial promotion because of his role in large-scale battles," Leafwen said, turning to Poison Douluo, "Dugu Bo, release your strongest group poison at the 99th-level peak."
