Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Unexpected Encounter in Soto City

Chapter 43: Unexpected Encounter in Soto City

The next morning, after following the instructions from the sect's personnel, Yang Xiong left and, after just two days of traveling, found Ning Rongrong in a small town.

However, Ning Rongrong was carrying numerous bags and appeared to be shopping and sightseeing, completely uninterested in going to school.

When Ning Rongrong saw Yang Xiong, she immediately perked up. "Xiong, come quickly and help me carry these things! Didn't you already leave for this small town? How come I couldn't find you here?"

Yang Xiong stared at the bags she was carrying and said helplessly, "Rongrong, don't you have a soul tool? Why are you still carrying all this stuff?"

Ning Rongrong, with a smug look, replied, "My soul tool is already full. Since Soto City is so far away, I figured I might as well buy more things."

"Also, stop calling me 'Rongrong' as 'Miss Rongrong,' just call me Rongrong. It sounds better."

Yang Xiong was speechless. "Alright, Rongrong. Soto City is thousands of kilometers away from here. Do you really want to shop your way there? Let's rent a carriage and get going."

Ning Rongrong seemed very casual about it. "School is just a side thing. It's rare to leave the sect, and I don't have my dad, Grandpa Jian, and Grandpa Gu's restrictions anymore. I want to have a good time."

Yang Xiong was helpless. How did this playful little devil end up at Shrek Academy in the original story?

However, seeing Ning Rongrong like this, Yang Xiong didn't feel like saying anything more and ended up wandering the streets with her for half a day.

But, this girl was indeed good at shopping and buying things. In just half an hour, Yang Xiong had ended up with plenty of items.

After Yang Xiong insisted, the next day, the two of them boarded a carriage and headed toward Soto City.

Even so, the little devil's playful nature couldn't be tamed. Throughout the trip, she kept playing around, looking at things here and there, completely like a child who had never seen the world, leaving Yang Xiong with no choice but to sigh in exasperation.

However, despite her playfulness, Ning Rongrong's talent for cultivation was indeed impressive. Even in the carriage, she could focus on her cultivation. With this talent, it wouldn't be long before she reached level 29, and from a talent perspective, she was probably not much weaker than Tang San and Xiao Wu.

After about ten days, the two of them finally arrived in Soto City.

Soto City was the second largest city in the Barak Kingdom, and it was very prosperous.

To their surprise, after wandering around, they ended up at the famous Rose Hotel from the original story.

However, since they arrived early, and the start of the school year was still some time away, the place was not yet packed with people.

The staff member looked at Yang Xiong and Ning Rongrong and immediately brightened up.

"Two rooms, please."

The staff member looked at their faces, a hint of meaning appearing in his expression.

"Are you sure you need two rooms? I'm afraid we only have one room available. If you don't mind, perhaps you could share a room?"

Ning Rongrong, the little devil, blushed slightly at this. Although most of their time was spent meditating, they had become much more familiar with each other during the journey.

Yang Xiong didn't bother with unnecessary words and took out a bag of gold soul coins. "Two of the best rooms, preferably adjacent. If not, we'll go somewhere else."

The staff member smiled broadly. "Of course. I just checked, and there are two rooms available. I hope you have a pleasant stay with us."

The two of them stayed at the Rose Hotel, waiting for the start of the school year.

Ning Rongrong spent her days shopping and her evenings resting and meditating in the hotel. Yang Xiong, on the other hand, spent all his time meditating except during meal times.

Ever since starting to cultivate the Yin-Yang Meditation Method, his cultivation speed had noticeably increased. His soul power was flowing much more smoothly, and it seemed like there were no more bottlenecks in his cultivation. He estimated that he would break through to level 27 in about half a month.

However, Ning Rongrong was somewhat disdainful of Yang Xiong, finding him boring for only focusing on cultivation. If she hadn't insisted that it was too boring to eat alone, she probably wouldn't have even seen him for days.

One day, when they returned from dinner, they encountered a commotion in the Rose Hotel. Tables and chairs had been broken in a fight.

Yang Xiong's expression became serious as he saw the fighters.

The two combatants were both Soul Masters, one wielding the White Tiger martial soul and the other the Blue Silver Grass martial soul. They seemed to be engaged in a fierce battle.

Dai Mubai had golden hair, stood about 1.8 meters tall, and looked quite handsome, though the two girls following him seemed a bit of an eyesore.

Tang San was around 1.7 meters tall, had short black hair, and wore blue clothing. He appeared ordinary but was agile and quick on his feet.

Yang Xiong seemed to recognize something and looked around the scene, soon spotting a cute girl.

The girl appeared to be about 1.7 meters tall, with a very slender frame, and her face looked rather rosy. She was not only quite pretty but also a bit playful. Most strikingly, she had two long scorpion braids that nearly reached her thighs.

This girl was Xiao Wu, a transformed 100,000-year soul beast. Even though Yang Xiong had seen many things, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. A 100,000-year soul ring and soul bone were treasures in the Soul Master world.

However, in just a moment, Yang Xiong suppressed his thoughts. With his current strength, he was still far from reaching the level of a 100,000-year soul ring and soul bone, and there was also Tang Hao in the background.

After a brief scuffle, Dai Mubai and Tang San ended the fight peacefully. Dai Mubai, with his arms around the two twin girls, left, while Tang San and Xiao Wu stayed behind as planned.

Ning Rongrong looked at Dai Mubai with disdain. She clearly didn't think much of such a playboy.

Yang Xiong, however, seemed indifferent. Soul Masters held high status in the Douluo Continent, and such behavior was quite normal for them.

From the fight just now, Dai Mubai seemed to prefer brute strength, which was to be expected from his top-tier White Tiger martial soul. Tang San, on the other hand, was more flexible and relied on battle techniques. He likely used the Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Control Crane Capture Dragon techniques, as he would not have been able to withstand Dai Mubai's brute force otherwise.

Ning Rongrong seemed displeased. "Xiong, you should have taught that perverted tiger a lesson. I'm not happy just looking at him."

Yang Xiong was speechless. "He's a Soul Ancestor, a whole rank above me. It wouldn't be very dignified if I tried to teach him a lesson and ended up getting beaten instead."

Ning Rongrong pouted. "Who cares if he's a Soul Ancestor? He's much older than us. Besides, don't you fear a Soul Ancestor? My dad always says your combat strength is exceptional, and it's no problem to fight above your rank."

"You little girl, do you even know what fighting above your rank means?"

Yang Xiong simply sighed and returned to his room. Dai Mubai and Tang San were still too inexperienced. Defeating them wouldn't be that difficult.
