Chapter 40: Sixth Grade Graduation
After half a year, Yang Xiong returned to school and felt that the entire class had changed a lot. Everyone seemed to have grown significantly.
Now at twelve years old, nearly all the students had reached the rank of Great Soul Master, and it was time to start thinking about their future.
According to the rules of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, some students would continue their studies at the school, but the classes would be reorganized based on soul power levels and martial soul attributes.
From sixth grade onward, students would either attend the intermediate Soul Master Academy or the advanced Soul Master Academy. The school would also provide more practical combat training, differentiating between support soul masters, battle soul masters, and even categorizing by attributes such as attack, speed, control, and defense. After all, the training and combat experience for different martial soul types were distinct.
Another group of students would go to specialized higher-level Soul Master Academies, just like Yang Xiong's older brother, Yang Wei, who had gone to the Zixing Academy. Of course, there were also some mid- to high-level Soul Master Academies supported by the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.
The school would conduct a soul power test for everyone. In the first class, it was surprising to find that everyone was already a Great Soul Master. The highest soul power was still Ning Rongrong, whose soul power had reached an astonishing level of 28.
Yang Xiong reached level 26, making him the second-highest after Ning Rongrong. The others were at most level 25, with one being the student who had innate soul power level 7.
Yang Xiong roughly compared the results and realized that very few from the class would meet the entry standards for Shrek Academy, especially with the combat assessments involved. From this, one could see just what kind of geniuses Shrek Academy was recruiting.
Ning Rongrong, noticing Yang Xiong, seemed intrigued: "Xiongzi, long time no see! Where have you been playing? I heard you went to Tiandou City. There's nothing fun there."
Yang Xiong, a bit speechless, replied, "Rongrong, I've been back from Tiandou City for a while, just been training at home recently."
Ning Rongrong grinned proudly: "You've been training so fast, reaching level 26! But I've already reached level 28! I'm amazing, right?"
Yang Xiong quickly responded, "Rongrong, your talent is indeed extraordinary. You are undoubtedly the most gifted genius in Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect in recent years."
Although Ning Rongrong was a bit playful and liked teasing others, her talent for cultivation was indeed impressive, and her performance was exceptional. She truly lived up to the reputation of being one of the rare geniuses in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.
Ning Rongrong continued: "I see you've been busy with training all the time. You should come out and play with us more, or else you'll be so boring."
Yang Xiong was speechless: "I'm not that talented, I can't compare to you. I still think training is more important."
Ning Rongrong pouted: "I knew you'd say that. If it weren't for my father telling me to learn more from you, I wouldn't even bother asking you to play!"
Yang Xiong replied, "Sect Master Ning has too high an opinion of me. I'm just an ordinary disciple of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect."
Ning Rongrong muttered something about it being boring and didn't say anything more. But from her shifting gaze, it seemed she was scheming something.
Yang Xiong couldn't be bothered with her. He was still busy with his cultivation and didn't have time to play with this little devil. Besides, based on the timing, this little devil would likely leave home soon, and it would probably cause a lot of commotion at the sect.
At dinner that evening, the family of four gathered together, which was rare. Even Yang Wei had returned from school.
After dinner, Yang Xiong originally planned to go back to his room to continue his cultivation, but his father, Yang Lin, called him over.
"Xiong, don't rush into your cultivation today. Let's all sit down together."
Seeing his father and the others looking serious, Yang Xiong sat down.
Yang Lin appeared more serious than usual: "Xiong, you should be considered ready to graduate. Do you have any plans for your future cultivation, or do you plan to continue cultivating within the sect?"
Yang Xiong didn't hesitate and replied, "Father, I still plan to cultivate at home. The resources and environment within the sect are excellent, and even the simulated environments are enough for my current cultivation."
Yang Lin shook his head: "Xiong, I know you work hard at cultivation, but you should also think about your future. With your current soul power level, you should be able to attend an advanced Soul Master Academy."
Yang Xiong quickly responded, "Father, I don't want to leave the sect. I feel like I can't learn much at an advanced Soul Master Academy, and the resources at the sect's library are far better than anything I'd learn there."
Yang Lin smiled: "Studying can indeed teach you many things, but what you see in books is very different from real experience. One reason for sending you to an advanced Soul Master Academy is so you can communicate more with people your age, so your soul master journey won't be too lonely. Another reason is to broaden your horizons and meet more talented individuals. This may be helpful in the future."
"Moreover, if you can participate in the Soul Master Competition in the future, you'll receive more attention from the sect."
Yang Xiong was speechless, thinking to himself that the sect would probably cater to him no matter what he did, especially since he had the treasure that the sect had always pursued—the treasure of martial soul evolution.
However, neither his Yin-Yang Meditation nor the Celestial Herbs were things he planned to reveal at this stage, as they were far too complicated.
The Yin-Yang Meditation was his original creation and was still incomplete. He might consider teaching it to his family members in the future, but it would only be for family use. Yang Xiong had no intention of spreading it widely.
As for the Celestial Herbs he kept hidden, he didn't even want to tell his family, especially with his older brother, Yang Wei, still at Zixing Academy. Even a small hint of it could lead to a lot of trouble.
Moreover, the sect was not his personal property. He was just an ordinary disciple, and his contributions to the sect had already exceeded most others.
At this point, Yang Wei spoke up: "Xiong, I think you should come with me to Zixing Academy. It will be good to have each other's support, and with your soul power, you might even participate in the Soul Master Competition with me."
However, Yang Lin had a different opinion: "Xiong, based on your soul power, going to Tiandou Royal Academy is no problem at all. You might even represent Tiandou Royal Academy in the future, bringing honor to our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. You might also receive more focused training from the sect."
Sun Yu, Yang Xiong's mother, was very casual about it. Since her son had always had his own methods and ideas for cultivation, there was no need for her to worry.
"Xiong, you can do whatever you want. Staying in the sect is also fine, at least it's safe."
Yang Xiong: ...
Going to an advanced Soul Master Academy was a common practice in the Soul Master world, just like with Yu Tianheng and the others. Was the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's environment worse than the academy's? But the Soul Master world always emphasized groups and sects, or one's helpers.
