Chapter 59: You're Surrounded by Me!
As the crashing sounds outside the door grew louder and the faint yellow glow on the stone door began to dim, a trace of panic appeared on Xiao Yixian's face.
She turned to look at Xiao Yuan and bit her lip.
Then, reaching into her bosom, she pulled out a few more paper pouches.
These were concocted earlier that afternoon after arriving at the campsite.
Originally, she had made them to defend herself against this shameless thief.
But…
Now it looked like she'd need to use them against Mu Li first.
After all, the people outside were all Mu Li's men. If she really fell into his hands, she didn't even need to imagine what would happen to her.
Though the shameless guy before her wasn't exactly a good person either, at least his face was far more tolerable than Mu Li's.
It's just... his hands and feet weren't very honest—he was always taking liberties.
The truth was, all of this came down to her own lack of strength. That's why she ended up in this humiliating position.
If she were a Dou Shi—or even a Da Dou Shi—would anyone dare treat her like this?
Xiao Yixian clenched her fists. A determined glint appeared in her eyes.
She wanted to become strong!
But not long after, her expression dimmed.
It's not that she hadn't tried to cultivate Dou Qi. For some reason, though, her cultivation speed was incredibly slow. She wasn't even a true Dou Zhe yet.
She also lacked the talent to become an alchemist, so she had settled on being a physician.
Some things, no matter how much you want them, just aren't meant to be.
While Xiao Yixian was silently lamenting her powerlessness—
BOOM!
The stone door exploded!
The moment the door shattered, stones flew, and dust clouded the air.
When Xiao Yixian snapped out of it, she saw several chunks of rubble flying straight at her.
She instinctively tried to dodge, but her body couldn't keep up with her thoughts.
All she could do was stare in horror at the oncoming debris.
In her pupils, the incoming stones rapidly enlarged. Just as they were about to hit—
A figure appeared in front of her, sweeping the debris away and sending it flying back toward the entrance.
Screams of pain immediately followed.
"You okay?"
Xiao Yuan's eyes gleamed with the sharpness of a hawk, but his voice was soft and gentle.
"Ah? I-I'm fine."
Xiao Yixian blinked, then nodded, her voice quiet.
"Go hide behind that chair. I'll deal with the rest."
Xiao Yuan gently patted her shoulder with a smile, reassuring her.
"Okay."
Xiao Yixian nodded and quickly jogged over, crouching behind the stone chair and peeking out cautiously.
Mu Li entered with his men, a grim look on his face. Judging by the badges on their chests, they were all at least Four-Star Dou Zhe, with Mu Li himself already a Six-Star.
That shameless guy… he's only a Two-Star Dou Zhe. Can he really handle this?
Worry flickered in Xiao Yixian's eyes.
Before Mu Li could speak, Xiao Yuan stepped forward, flipping his palm to draw his spear. With a Dragon Step, he charged forward.
Six-Form Spear Art—Sweep the Six Directions!
Dark light shimmered along the spear as icy Dou Qi radiated from it, making the temperature in the room plummet.
Xiao Yixian couldn't help but tighten the cloak he'd draped over her shoulders.
Mu Li's pupils shrank—Xiao Yuan's presence wasn't weaker than his!
A Five-Star Dou Zhe under eighteen? Such talent was terrifying. He couldn't be allowed to live!
But before Mu Li could finish that thought, Xiao Yuan's spear swept cleanly through the necks of the two mercenaries beside him.
The cold gleam of the spear then pierced toward Mu Li's throat.
!!
Mu Li staggered back, slashing with his blade.
The stone chamber was spacious enough that Xiao Yuan's spear technique wasn't hindered, allowing him to fight at full strength.
Everyone knew—if your strength was inferior, and you went knife versus spear, it was certain death.
The moment the spear thrust toward Mu Li, it bloomed into a flurry of spear flowers. Mu Li couldn't tell where to block. In panic, he tried to launch a Dou Technique—but Xiao Yuan suddenly released one hand and used the other to thrust the spear forward.
Straight through Mu Li's throat.
Azure Dragon Presents Claw!
Shock filled Mu Li's eyes as the cold pierced his throat, freezing both his words and his life.
Shing!
Xiao Yuan yanked his spear free and dove into the group, his technique fully unleashed. In an instant, several bodies fell within the stone chamber.
His terrifying killing efficiency left the mercenaries outside drenched in cold sweat.
What the hell—who was the idiot that said this kid was just a Two-Star Dou Zhe?!
Several eyes flicked toward Mu Li's lifeless corpse, and their anger dulled. After all, the guy was already dead…
After clearing out the enemies inside, Xiao Yuan put away his spear, grabbed a steel blade off the floor, and charged outside.
Behind the chair, Xiao Yixian watched, mouth slightly open, completely stunned.
In the cave outside, many mercenaries started to feel uneasy. They knew the ones Xiao Yuan had killed—and their strength. If he could slay them that easily, he could kill any of them too.
As the saying goes, a wise man knows when to retreat.
Clearly, now was one of those times. No one was dumb enough to risk their life betting on when Xiao Yuan might run out of Dou Qi.
So many of the veterans turned and fled.
But a few hot-blooded fools tried to resist.
The result?
"AHHH!"
Agonizing screams echoed through the cave.
Sensing a group approaching the cave entrance, Xiao Yuan's eyes grew cold. He launched a Wind Hawk Kick, caving in a charging mercenary's chest and sending him flying.
Then he tossed his weapon aside and rapidly formed hand seals.
Ice Mirror!
As the seals completed, cold air condensed at the cave mouth, forming a massive, semi-transparent black ice mirror, blocking their exit.
Seeing their path blocked, the mercenaries turned pale. They hastily launched their Dou Techniques, but their low-level skills weren't enough to break the mirror—and worse, the recoil left their hands numb.
"You're surrounded by me."
Xiao Yuan's cold voice echoed in the cave. Then, green wind spirals formed in his palms.
Green Wind Spiral Fist!
Looking at the desperate mercenaries with crazed eyes, Xiao Yuan hurled the spinning wind directly at them.
Moments later, slightly out of breath, Xiao Yuan returned to the stone chamber.
Xiao Yixian peeked nervously from behind the chair. When she saw someone enter, she instinctively ducked.
"Xiao Yixian, it's me. Time to go."
Xiao Yuan walked over and smiled.
"Come here—there's a mechanism or something here. But I can't open it."
Xiao Yixian waved him over, her delicate brows furrowed.
