Frogadier swiftly unleashed Water Pulse; a blue sphere of water appeared midair, rapidly hurtling toward Scrafty.
"Scraft!" Scrafty charged straight through, slicing fiercely with Brick Break, cleanly splitting the incoming water attack and scattering droplets everywhere.
Meanwhile, Grookey collided head-on with Bisharp, clearly Tatsumi's most trusted Pokémon.
"This guy's the strongest on my team. You don't have even a shred of a chance."
"That's not certain yet! Grookey, let's show them our strength!"
"Pachi!"
Satoshi tightened his grip on his hat, observing carefully.
Judging by sheer presence alone, that Bisharp was already Gym-level or even stronger. Steel typing gave it an excellent defense; this battle wouldn't end easily.
But Satoshi would never give up!
"Bisharp, [Metal Claw]!"
"Kizan!" Bisharp's razor-sharp claws sliced through the air, emitting a shrill whistle.
"Grookey, dodge with [Acrobatics]! Don't meet it head-on!"
Seeing the danger, Satoshi instantly ordered Grookey to use Acrobatics. Grookey's body was cloaked in a faint glow, its twin drumsticks dancing gracefully through the air, striking precisely toward Bisharp.
Yet Bisharp effortlessly evaded this acrobatic strike, its claws cutting directly into Grookey's body.
"Pachi…" Grookey stumbled backward, barely regaining balance.
But the stronger the opponent, the more cautious Satoshi became.
Truthfully, he'd normally be excited, but this was Team Rocket—he didn't have that luxury.
Bisharp's strength clearly far exceeded Grookey's, or else it wouldn't have managed such speed against Grookey's naturally quicker Acrobatics.
Grookey's Acrobatics was already fast, and its innate speed surpassed Bisharp's—but their strength gap was so vast that Grookey's speed advantage was negated completely.
Bisharp had clearly received targeted speed training.
Refusing to underestimate his enemy even for a second, Satoshi immediately commanded Grookey to use its theoretically strongest move:
"Grookey, [U-turn]!"
Bug-type U-turn would at least deal neutral damage to the Steel/Dark-type Bisharp.
"Pachi!"
Instantly, Grookey leaped upward, covered entirely in spiraling green energy, drilling straight at Bisharp like a spinning arrow.
"Dodge it! Bisharp, directly use [Night Slash] on the trainer!"
In that moment, Tatsumi's concealed smile surfaced maliciously.
"Kizan—!"
Hearing this, Bisharp instantly evaded Grookey's attack, lunging straight at Satoshi. Dark-purple energy gathered in its claws, preparing a deadly Night Slash aimed to finish him off in one blow.
[Wha—?! Is attacking trainers even legal?!]
"It's fine, I can handle it! Grookey, just focus on beating that guy!"
Satoshi quickly formulated his plan and gave orders.
"Pachi~ (No way!)"
But Grookey absolutely refused to stand by. It reacted instantly, rushing forward using Grassy Glide and blocking Bisharp's strike.
"Kizan...!"
"Pachi…" Grookey endured Bisharp's devastating attack, forced backward several steps, fiercely shielding Satoshi.
"Grookey?" Satoshi stared blankly at Grookey's actions.
Grookey knows my physical condition clearly, yet it still jumped in without listening.
It actually managed to withstand that?
With such a huge gap in strength...how is that possible?
Frankly, Satoshi felt confused, but Grookey was consumed by absolute fury.
I will never let these bastards hurt you… never!
I want to protect you… just like how you protected me in the past…
Protect you!!
Grookey withstood immense damage, pushed back by powerful impacts. Its body swayed like a tree battered by fierce winds. Yet it never fell—standing firm, glaring ferociously at Bisharp.
The ground beneath Grookey cracked from Bisharp's overwhelming strike, dust rising fiercely.
"PACHI—!! (Protect!)"
With a cry of unwavering determination, Grookey's body erupted with a soft blue glow.
"Evolving… Grookey… you—"
Surrounded by this pale-blue radiance, Grookey's form overflowed with tremendous power. Its body gradually reshaped, growing larger, muscles more defined and powerful.
Within the enveloping glow, the imposing silhouette of a Rillaboom slowly appeared, radiating an awe-inspiring presence.
"Rillaboom… thank you. I understand your feelings now."
Satoshi's lips curled slightly into a gentle smile.
He fully understood his partner's resolve. After all, they were teammates—it was only natural they'd feel this way.
"Rilla~ (Let's do this together!)"
Rillaboom turned, calling out, smiling warmly toward Satoshi.
"Yeah, let's show them our true power! Give it everything we've got! Go!"
"Rilla!!"
[Sato-baby, I've checked out Rillaboom's moves for you! Go wild!]
[Moves: Drum Beating, Wood Hammer, Acrobatics, U-turn, Grassy Glide, Screech, Endeavor]
Hearing Furiko's voice, Satoshi's fighting spirit reached boiling point. He thrust his arm forward.
"Rillaboom, [Drum Beating]!"
"RILLA—!" Rillaboom rapidly and rhythmically pounded its stump drum. In sync with each beat, two thick roots burst from underground, lunging directly at Bisharp.
"You idiot. What good does evolving do you? The gap in our Pokémon's strength is huge. Bisharp, finish it!" Tatsumi watched coldly, without any intent to show mercy.
"Kiza…"
But Bisharp was entirely trapped by the roots, desperately trying to escape yet completely immobilized, helpless against the continuous whipping strikes.
"How?! Bisharp, hurry and use Night—"
"[Wood Hammer]!"
Green energy rapidly gathered in Rillaboom's palm, solidifying into a gigantic wooden hammer.
Unleashing fierce green energy, Rillaboom swung violently, the massive hammer crashing straight into Bisharp.
"Kizaaan~" Bisharp was violently smashed away, rolling several times before barely stabilizing in a half-kneeling position.
"In that case, Bisharp—Metal Sound!"
"Screech!"
The battlefield erupted into ear-piercing noise as the two powerful soundwaves collided fiercely.
"BOOM—!" Yet Rillaboom's overwhelmingly powerful Screech easily shattered Bisharp's Metal Sound interference.
"One final Wood Hammer!"
"Bisharp, hurry—[Night Slash]!"
"RILLA!!" Rillaboom roared furiously, green energy swiftly forming once again into a massive hammer. Swinging downward with crushing force, the hammer fell perfectly onto Bisharp, shaking the entire battlefield.
"Kizaaaan~~!" Bisharp was instantly blown away, hurled violently several meters, crashing hard into a distant wall with a dull thud, utterly defeated.
"This… Is this even reasonable?" Tatsumi stared in disbelief, but Satoshi granted him no chance to respond.
"And now—one final elbow!"
Blood boiling, Satoshi rushed forward without hesitation, sharply raising his elbow, swinging with all his strength.
"Guh—haa!" Like lightning, the elbow strike slammed viciously into Tatsumi's abdomen, knocking him unconscious instantly. He collapsed heavily to the ground, dust billowing around him.
The surrounding scenery blurred in that instant; only Satoshi's unyielding figure stood out clearly as Tatsumi fell.
"The boy has won! The boy has defeated Team Rocket!"
