Chapter 47: The Cursed Mark Transformation of Ranmaru
Ranmaru looked at Yuto with eyes full of longing—for this was the very reason for his existence.
Yuto paused briefly, then shook his head slightly and said calmly, "Your strength is too weak. You are not yet qualified to become my eyes."
Ranmaru's body had always been frail. In Yuto's view, even members of the Kurama Clan in Konoha were far stronger than him.
Too weak?
Ranmaru froze for a moment, his face showing disappointment. Yet the next instant, his eyes brightened.
Lord Yuto hadn't rejected him completely—he only said he was too weak. If he became stronger, then perhaps he could truly become Yuto's eyes.
"Lord Yuto, I want to become stronger!"
Ranmaru's wide eyes shone with determination.
Become stronger?
Yuto was momentarily surprised. He hadn't expected such an answer.
But thinking carefully, it made sense. In the original story, it was Naruto's endless persuasion that had changed Ranmaru's mindset.
Now, Yuto couldn't imagine either Utakata or Ringo Ameyuri guiding Ranmaru like that. Perhaps the death of Raiga Kurosuki had inspired new resolve within the boy.
"If you want to grow stronger, it will be very painful," Yuto said evenly, looking down at him.
Ranmaru nodded firmly, his gaze unwavering.
Seeing this, Yuto's interest was slightly piqued. Ranmaru's Bloodline Limit had immense supportive potential—it could prove valuable in future battles.
However, Ranmaru's frailty was a liability. In a real fight, he would easily become a target, and Yuto had no intention of dividing his focus to protect him.
Thus, the first step was to change Ranmaru's weak constitution.
A glint of thought flashed in Yuto's eyes. Altering someone's physical makeup might be difficult for others, but not for him.
He had two viable methods: the Sage Chakra of Hashirama Senju, and the power of the Cursed Seal.
Hashirama's Sage Chakra had immense regenerative potential, but Ranmaru's weakness was congenital, not acquired.
Unless Yuto continuously infused him with Sage Chakra for an extended period, it would be impossible to permanently alter his body.
The Cursed Seal, however, was a faster solution—its effects on strength were immediate and significant. As for its so-called side effects, Yuto had already neutralized most of them through his own modifications.
As long as Ranmaru didn't remain in a transformed state for too long, the impact on his body would be minimal.
While Yuto was still lost in thought, Utakata emerged from the house looking visibly displeased.
"Mind telling me who that person lying in my bed is?"
Utakata walked up to Yuto, his tone stiff and irritated.
"I thought you wouldn't notice."
Yuto smiled faintly, lifting Ranmaru slightly with one hand. "The one lying on your bed is Kimimaro. And this is Ranmaru. I've noticed that all three of you share similar personalities. So, from now on, they'll both live here with you."
Upon hearing this, Utakata's expression darkened immediately. Without hesitation, he refused. "No. Absolutely not!"
"Is that so? What a shame," Yuto said softly, shaking his head with feigned regret.
Then, with a faint motion of his wrist, he looked at Utakata and smiled. "My hands have been itching lately. My body's starting to rust."
As his words fell, the Six-Tails, Saiken, suddenly stirred within Utakata's body.
"Boy! Do as he says!"
The nervous voice of the Six-Tails, Saiken, echoed in Utakata's mind.
Utakata's mouth twitched violently as he glared at Yuto, who stood before him with a pleasant smile. With an angry flick of his sleeve, Utakata turned and walked away without another word.
Seeing this, Yuto shrugged and sighed softly. "Ah, young people these days…"
After settling the matter with Utakata, Yuto turned his gaze back to Ranmaru and said seriously, "First, we'll make sure you can walk properly. It may hurt a little."
Ranmaru's eyes widened in disbelief.
Walk?
For him, those two words represented a dream that had always been out of reach.
Ever since birth, his frail body had left him unable to stand or move on his own. Deep down, he had always longed more than anything to walk like a normal person.
And now, Lord Yuto had told him that he could make it possible.
Seeing the shock and joy on Ranmaru's face, Yuto wasn't surprised. To someone born with a crippled body, no desire was stronger than the wish to be whole.
Yuto gently placed Ranmaru on the ground. A thought stirred within him as the chakra of his Cursed Seal form began to circulate rapidly.
A chilling, sinister aura rose from his body. Though Yuto had managed to minimize the side effects of the curse mark, he could not alter its cold and oppressive nature.
He extended his hand and touched Ranmaru's forehead with a finger. In an instant, the cursed chakra surged into Ranmaru's body.
This chakra, both in quality and density, far exceeded Ranmaru's own. The moment it entered, it began invading his system, flooding through every channel and cell.
"Ugh—"
Ranmaru let out a muffled groan, biting his lip hard to stop himself from crying out.
As the cursed chakra continued to flow into him, a small black rhombus-shaped mark appeared on his forehead.
Moments later, Ranmaru's vision went black, and he collapsed unconscious.
Seeing this, Yuto exhaled slowly. That would be enough. Though it was his first time transferring cursed chakra to another person, the process had gone smoothly.
Through this experiment, Yuto realized that the manifestation of the Cursed Seal varied depending on the person—specifically, on their deepest inner desires.
Just like the Sound Four and Sasuke, each bearer of the curse had a unique transformation reflecting their nature. Once set, that form could never be changed.
Even Yuto's improved version of the Cursed Seal still retained this characteristic.
Yuto himself, however, was an exception. Perhaps because the Black Emperor's power allowed him to freely manipulate energy, his own transformation could shift however he wished.
He could take on any form he desired without limitation.
Hmm?
Suddenly, Yuto paused in surprise—Ranmaru was still absorbing his cursed chakra.
Given Ranmaru's frail condition, what he had already taken in should have been more than enough to saturate his body.
A faintly amused expression crossed Yuto's face as he looked at the unconscious boy and murmured, "Even after fainting, you still have such a strong will and desire?"
"In that case, let's see just how much more you can take."
As he finished speaking, Yuto once again stirred the chakra of his Cursed Seal, sending another surge pouring into Ranmaru's body.
