[Arc of the Moon Activation!
The host gains one resurrection per month. After death, you will be revived on the night of the previous full moon.
Reward: One lottery draw.
1 — Fire-nature Chakra;
2 — Chūnin-level Chakra reserves (stackable);
3 — Taijutsu: Body Flicker Technique (Beginner).]
Fire-nature Chakra was a bit too common and uninspiring — easily dismissed.
But the second and third options left Yagami torn.
If he chose the Chūnin-level Chakra reserves, he could instantly solve his lack of chakra. That would let him use Earth Release: Hiding like a Mole, for longer and move faster underground.
Still, the last option was just as tempting.
The Body Flicker Technique — the same rapid-movement Taijutsu used by Captain Brown Bear's squad.
Comparing the two, Yagami decided to pick Body Flicker Technique (Beginner). The chakra issue could be solved later.
First, solve having a problem — then worry about how good the solution is.
In an instant, Yagami mastered the Body Flicker Technique.
He focused his chakra into his calves and ankles, stimulating the muscles until chakra and muscle strength burst forth together — propelling his body forward with explosive speed.
The key was to maintain chakra flow in the leg and foot meridians, targeting specific muscle groups for stimulation.
Bending down, Yagami hoisted the unconscious Cloud ninja captain over his shoulder and continued on his way.
This time, he trained the Body Flicker Technique while traveling.
The Cloud ninja on his shoulder was shocked. Since when were Leaf ninja this fast?
Captain Brown Bear looked equally surprised when Yagami returned with the captured enemy.
"I found a group of Uzumaki ninja on my way back," Yagami said. "They were carrying a sealing scroll. I request permission to intercept and retrieve it."
He had to leave now. Once the captured Cloud ninja was interrogated and the alliance between Cloud and Mist was revealed, he wouldn't have the chance to go.
"Alright," said Captain Brown Bear. "Go and recover the sealing scroll."
After leaving the beach where the squad was stationed, Yagami sped away using Body Flicker.
The feeling was exhilarating.
As his foot hit the ground, chakra burst out and hurled his body several meters into the air.
The wind hissed past his ears, whistling sharply behind him.
After searching several lakes, Yagami finally found a juvenile Lance Heron.
It was fast — its beak long and razor-sharp.
Following it led him to a larger lake, where he spotted a massive adult Lance Heron circling above the water.
The bird's sharp eyes locked onto Yagami.
It suddenly dove, its spear-like beak gleaming with a bronzed metallic light.
"Stop! Don't attack!"
A familiar voice rang out — Uzumaki Yuka.
The Lance Heron immediately pulled up.
From a distance, Yuka stood with her hands on her hips, pride written all over her pretty face. "Fox, how's my new summoning beast?"
Yagami eyed the bird's enormous beak nervously. Its speed was faster than a thrown kunai — and it was intelligent enough to dodge and change direction mid-flight.
"You already tamed that summoning beast?"
Impressive. Truly impressive.
"Not just that one," Yuka said with a grin. "I've got an entire Lance Heron flock."
She waved her hand, and five normal-sized Lance Herons shot out from the nearby forest.
They flew swiftly, their sharp beaks glinting like kunai.
With a large beast for offense and smaller ones for support, this summoning group gave Yuka a huge boost in combat potential.
Suppressing his envy, Yagami got straight to business.
"Yuka, I obtained intel from the ANBU."
"Princess Kushina went to seal the wild Three-Tails but was ambushed by Cloud and Mist ninja. The sealing failed.
The ANBU are moving to provide reinforcements, but even two ANBU divisions won't be enough to save her."
Yuka's expression turned pale with shock. "Princess Kushina went to seal the Three-Tails? I had no idea! So the village kept it secret to prevent leaks from spies… then I—"
"Exactly," Yagami said quickly. "You've got flying summons. Use them to gather reinforcements immediately — Princess Kushina must not fall."
And with that, he vanished using the Body Flicker Technique.
Yuka blinked, stunned. His speed and strength had grown so much… was he really growing stronger through battle?
The fading black afterimage of his movement looked far cooler than before.
An hour later, a crimson signal flare rose in the distance.
That was the ANBU's special flare — the highest-level emergency summon.
Captain Yellow Dog had finished interrogating the captured Cloud ninja and learned the truth.
Yagami quickly returned to the squad's location.
"Captain," he said, "I saw the signal flare halfway back and came right here."
"No problem," Captain Brown Bear replied. "The intel from the Cloud ninja is more important than the Uzumaki scroll."
But Yagami's heart was tight with worry. Would Yuka bring enough reinforcements?
The Land of Waves was far from both the Hidden Leaf and Uzushio — reinforcements might not make it in time.
The squad moved toward the coast, where they met Princess Kushina and her group.
With the Body Flicker Technique, Yagami found it much easier to dodge and reposition against the Mist ninja.
Once the princess's group had retreated a safe distance, the ANBU finally received the order to withdraw.
The Mist and Cloud forces were strong — the Mist chased close behind, while the Cloud circled to flank them.
The pressure was immense. Captain Yellow Dog ordered Captain Black Bull's team to stay behind and cover the retreat.
Less than half a minute later, the entire Black Bull squad was annihilated.
Then Yellow Dog ordered Captain Brown Bear's team — Yagami's team — to take their place.
Captain Brown Bear didn't hesitate. He faced death calmly, accepting his fate and that of his men.
But the men didn't share that calm acceptance.
They were about to die.
Yagami's eyes darted around, scanning the battlefield. He gathered all his chakra into his legs.
Using the terrain's width to his advantage, he spotted an area with fewer Mist ninja.
With one Body Flicker, he leapt there, buying himself at least three more seconds of life.
Three seconds might not sound like much, but on this battlefield, even one more second alive mattered.
Relying on his Body Flicker, Yagami delayed the enemy longer than anyone else.
Captain Brown Bear, surrounded by enemies, looked like a human pincushion — senbon needles piercing his throat, heart, and other vital points.
Before dying, he turned his head to see how his men were doing.
He saw the "Fox" still alive.
And in that instant — his eyes behind the mask filled with pity.
Yagami froze.
Why… was he pitying him?
His instincts screamed — and Yagami threw himself forward!
A massive blade, the Executioner's Blade of Momochi Tenzo, slashed where his waist had been.
A man's waist — how could that be allowed to take a hit?
Just as death closed in, he heard the clinking sound of chains — fierce, resonant, and powerful.
The Adamantine Sealing Chains of the Uzumaki clan!
Two golden chains struck the ground beside him, blocking the Executioner's Blade.
Yagami rolled across the dirt, turning to see who had saved him.
A ninja wearing the emblem of the Land of Waves' Daimyō Guard Division stood there — and behind him were many more Uzumaki ninja.
Every Uzumaki ninja stationed in the Land of Waves had come.
Through the mist, the graceful silhouette of Uzumaki Yuka appeared.
She had brought reinforcements!
