Chapter 34 - Educating his dear Queen.

The clang of steel against steel echoed across the training courtyard, sharp as lightning in the sky. Sunlight shimmered off the polished blades, striking the marble walls and scattering light like shards of gold.

When Aurelia entered with Lyra and Ophelia beside her, the noise began to die. One by one, the knights stopped mid-strike, lowering their swords as if a spell had frozen the air.

Their gazes shifted toward the woman in pale silks, her dark shinny hair catching the light, the queen herself standing at the edge of the arena.

Aurelia blinked. "Oh—no, no, please," she said with an awkward laugh, lifting both hands. "Don't stop on my account. Continue. I just wanted to watch."

The knights glanced at one another, exchanging quick bows before resuming their drills—though none could resist the urge to sneak a look at her.

Aurelia smiled nervously and found a seat near the practice ground. "Is it always this loud?" she whispered to Ophelia.
