"Someone's here." Ely exclaimed nervously as she remained looking behind her as the shadows moving behind rapidly grew bigger and bigger until...
"Oh and if you face any challenges while in the vents then you know what to do, right?"
Kian's words echoed through her mind in a sudden flashback that caused her to zone out for a moment.
She then caught back on to the situation she was in as she gasped into consciousness as she panted heavily whilst her eyes dirty wildly in search for the shadows that were approaching her direction.
"Huh, they're gone?" Ely mused as she eyes caught the reflection of the lights that frantically reflected through the shiny silver grey vents only to notice that there was nothing.
"Dammit, what the heck was was that?" She muttered to herself in confusion.
For a moment, silence dread the air as Ely then refocused her eyes in the vent ways behind her just to make sure there wasn't anything fishy going on.
"Hm.... there seems to be nothing... maybe I was just being delusional from all the bad air in here." Ely exclaimed.
And maybe so due the various nasty odours that protruded around the vents, she could be delusional or....
"Anyways, why did I suddenly remember that now of all times?" Ely mused in frustration.
"Ugh, it should'a been a flashback on the proper directions dammit." She snarled out.
"Huuuuuh, anyways, if I can recall properly im just above the postal office and if I move to my right and downwards..."
Ely sighed and then lingered on as she then began to crawl slowly as she took a right turn.
"I should be going tl the mail storage room, but why do we even have one agai-"
Ely pondered as she crawled to her right and was interrupted by...
"Ah...."
"Ahhh."
A terrible sight that lain before her very eyes. A living blackish slithery longish creature slowly emerged before her eyes and reflected effortlessly in them. Meaning that she was not seeing things rather she was seeing...
"A snake?"
Ely mused as her fearful look soon converted into a confused and curious one whilst she leaned in closer to the tiny-ish slithery creature that lain before her.
The snake also responded as it slowly moved itself and its head closer as it also seemed to be inspecting her too.
"Awww, little fella you wanna must be lost, aren't ya?" Ely mused as her eyes beamed in adoration.
For a moment, Ely looked at the small adorable snake as she tried to figure out how she could leave with as a pet.
'Poor little guy, most normal people would've tried to kill ya by now, but I'm different coz I'm gonna find a way to get back with me and I'll name, and feed you and-'
Hiiiiisss!
"Huh? What's wrong little guy?"
Ely mused at the little snake that cut off her thoughts as it hissed at her with hostility.
At first she, skeptic about its sudden out burst of hostility as she then tilted her head to her back and once again saw the many moving shadows in the vents.
"Oh no oh no oh no!" Ely panicked as hse quickly turned her head and tried crawl way, but...
Hissss!
The little snake hissed once more which confirmed Ely's suspicions about its sudden actions.
Hisss!
The little snake hissed again, but this time it was louder sharper and more alerting as if it was calling to something.
Which then caused Ely to muse in thought, 'Wait a minute, what were those shadows earlier?', as flashes of bits if memory flickered in her mind as she recalled the slithering sound and that seemed to small yet smooth and continuous.
As she then remembered that the shadows suddenly disappeared after another boom hit the area and all of a sudden....
"This... little guy appeared...." Ely muttered under a cold realisation that this little guy wasn't lost, no, he was in fact...
"A trap!" Ely shouted out in realisation which startled the snake as it reacted by leaping in her direction.
"Eeeeep!" A high pitched scream-
Shhhhk!
Hissss! Hisss!
Platter, platter, platter!
"Tsk, idiot. You really think I'd be scared of you?" Ely exclaimed with disappointment as she looked at the now writhing snake that hissed out loud in pain as it seemed to had stabbed throught the head by a tiny blood red spike.
Hisss! Hisss!
Platter, Platter!
The snake that once wriggled and shook about in pain as it tried to release itself niw seemed to calm as the life in its eyes drained slowly and soon died after as Ely withdrew the spike from thin air and then looked as her eyes shot open in the horror to....
Hisss! Hisss!
Hisss! Hisss!
Hisss! Hissssss!
Not one, not two nor three but six or seven more snake heads hissed out in fury upon their gaze on Ely.
This didn't startled her much, but it had her thinking...., 'Where the hell are all these snakes... coming from....?', her thoughts slowed as a flashback of Milo and Greg 9nce sitting next each other in cafeteria flickered in her mind.
In the memory, Kian was talking to the infamous duo that soon show him their a slight touch of their abilities.
Greg gigantified his left arm a little while Milo partially transformed his right hand into a what seemed to be a shiny jet black scale cover claw.
The flashback then ended as it her like a splash of cold water at 4 in the morning.
"Black, shiny, scales...", she muttered as she then hurriedly looked back at the snakes that slowly approached her as she noticed that they had black, shiny, scales...
Gasp!
Ely gasped in realisation as the snakes then lounged at her with their fangs bared and their eyes sharp and vision fiercely set on her.
Ely who was still in shock was oblivious to all that was happening right behind her and just when the snakes were an inch from her backside...
Shk!
Shk, shk, shk, shk, shk, shk, shk!
HISSSS!
Platter!
Platter!
Platter!
Platter!
Several if not more tiny blood red spikes shot out from mid air and impaled the little snakes swiftly and mercilessly.
No snake was left unharmed and they all cried out in pain as they hissed loudly.
Soon they all also calmed as their movements slowed, hisses dampened and the life in their eyes flushed out.
Ely's problems were nonetheless all gone now right?
No, they had just started as she soon realised that she was being tracked and that they had found, but right now wasn't the best time to be distracted.
She shook her head as she snapped back to reality and tried to move down the last vent in the postal office, but...
"Hey you guys, I can see something over here!"
A sudden voice called out as moving silhouette moved rapidly under the vents horizontal folds.
"Shit!" Ely muttered as the sounds of numerous footsteps seemed to approach the postal office as she then realised that she needed to get out of there fast and so she...
Shwft!
Swoosh, bam!
Swoosh, bam!
Swoosh, bam!
Creeee! Creeee!
Bam!
Kchhhk!
Ely dashed on the vents wall that moved vertically from left to right as the vents below her began to creak as it was fiercely being pulled open.
And when the vents was finally removed a lot bursting sound as one of the gaurds hurriedly turned on his flashlight to check and see that...
"Mch, there's nothing there guys, but wait a minute..."
The gaurd exclaimed as his gaze suddenly fell on a darkness that hadn't been seen before in the vents as Milo arrived and said, "Nah there has to be something there and then shoved the gaurd took the same stance from before as he thought, 'Red hair, you little rat I'm gonna make you-'
He cussed out in thought and suddenly...
He was....
"Huh? The hell? Where am I?!"
Surrounded....
But by what?
"Uhhh, I can't see shit!"
A darkness, a very empty cold and endless one that seemed to have no ground nor light in it.
For a while all Milo could do scream out as he tried to reach out to someone or anything knowing the risks of doing this, but...
"Dammit... huff huff, there's no one here."
Milo had finally accepted the unknown yet cold fate that awaited him in this empty dark void.
And just when he relaxed....
Sploosh!
"Huh"
Sploosh, Sploosh!
A splash and then two more. Milo's moods then brightened as he also felt a hard flat surface beneath him and he then hurriedly stood up, but...
"I'm not wet?" He mused as checked on himself, but right, he was in total darkness of course he couldn't see himself, but he could atleast feel himself and right now he didn't feel wet as he was supposed to.
Just when bent on one to check with his suspicions of the water...
Step, sploosh!
Step, sploosh!
Step, sploosh!
Step!
"Huh?"
"Welcome... to my domain, hnhnhn!"
He heard the steps if someone approaching him but they were slow... too slow and calm as if the person who was walking was aware if their surroundings.
Milo then looked up and around as tried to find the person as tension in his mind grew as well and then a voice.
Young yet deep, calm and directed and grimacing echoed through the darkness as the hairs in his body rose and he soon realised something....
He was not and had never been alone.
