Chapter 194: Full and Ready to Beat the Chef
"How long are you going to keep hugging me?"
The voice from her arms was no longer sweet but cold and piercing. The moment Ning Bei realized this, he immediately released her and took a few steps back.
Bibi Dong turned back and gave him a half-smiling, half-serious glance. The smile sent a chill down Ning Bei's spine.
"Children? Ning Nian Dong? How do you want to die?"
Ning Bei scratched his head awkwardly and explained, "Wasn't I just helping the Pope perform? You can judge whether it worked or not!"
He pointed toward the lifeless body of Yu Xiaogang lying in a pool of blood.
"Hmph!"
Bibi Dong shot Ning Bei a cold glare, then called the guards to carry Yu Xiaogang away and throw him out of the Spirit Hall.
"Aren't you leaving?"
"Tch, the women below, used and then discarded!"
Ning Bei muttered under his breath as he walked toward the door, but how could his voice escape the ears of a Super Douluo? The cold and biting tone reached him again.
"What did you say?"
"I said, thank you, Dong'er!"
Bibi Dong's face froze, her eyes narrowing as she glared at Ning Bei. Her anger was palpable as she gathered soul power in her hand and slapped it toward him.
Ning Bei quickly dodged and shot a displeased glance at Bibi Dong.
"Hey, don't go overboard. You're the one who kissed me first, I was caught off guard!"
She responded with another slap, this time harder than before.
Ning Bei dodged again, his eyes now filled with a cold resolve.
"What the hell are you doing? If you keep going, I'll hit back!"
"Hmph!"
Bibi Dong remained silent. She didn't understand why she felt the urge to strike the man in front of her, but the desire to slap him was undeniable.
When she made another move, Ning Bei decided he wouldn't hold back. He lightly tapped the ground, and his Everfrost Domain spread.
Caught off guard, Bibi Dong was immediately frozen in ice. After a shiver, she shattered the ice, but before she could attack again, she was frozen once more.
Bibi Dong's face grew darker. She dared to strike because she didn't think Ning Bei could handle her. However, she hadn't expected that Ning Bei could now match her without relying on external forces.
Realizing this, she refused to concede, and a strange scene unfolded in the hall.
Surrounded by a faint blue glow, a stunning woman was continuously frozen by ice, then shattered it, only to be frozen again, repeating the cycle.
Half an hour passed, and seeing no movement from the ice sculpture in front of him, Ning Bei slowly walked up to it, tapping the ice sculpture's head with his finger.
With a "crack," the ice on the sculpture's head shattered, revealing Bibi Dong's beautiful face.
After a brief struggle, Bibi Dong glared at him with a displeased expression.
"What are you staring at? Let me out!"
"Heh! Still so defiant even when frozen?"
Hearing this, Ning Bei, in a bad mood, stretched out his right hand, blew a few breaths on his fingers, and gave Bibi Dong a few playful flicks on the head.
The crisp sounds echoed in the Pope's hall, and Bibi Dong's eyes turned red with fury as she ground her teeth in anger.
"Ning Bei, you bastard, let me out now, or—"
Ning Bei interrupted her threat with a mocking tone, mimicking her.
"Or what? You're turning your face faster than flipping a book. Who was it earlier who said, 'Abey, come here!'?"
Bibi Dong's face turned crimson, whether from anger or embarrassment, or perhaps a mix of both.
"I warn you, let me out now, or—"
"Thinking what, huh? If I let you out, you'll just hit me again!"
"I-I promise I won't hit you again, okay?"
Ning Bei looked at her with disdain. "You think I don't know what you're up to, you bad woman?"
"Not hitting, just kicking, huh?"
"Ning Bei!!!"
Seeing that she couldn't get a rise out of him, Bibi Dong screamed in frustration, her voice so loud that even the guards outside turned to glance at the closed hall doors.
"Alright, alright, you stay here and reflect for a while. The ice will melt in ten minutes. I'm leaving now."
"You bastard, don't let me see you again!"
As Ning Bei turned and opened the hall doors, Bibi Dong called out again in a panic.
Ning Bei closed the door and walked back to Bibi Dong, his expression turning serious.
"Did you really send someone to assassinate Tang Hao's son?"
Bibi Dong rolled her eyes.
"Am I that stupid? I know it won't succeed, I just wanted to scare that hypocrite."
"Now let me go, or..."
Ning Bei clarified his suspicions by immediately pressing his lips to her chatterbox of a mouth.
"Behave, reflect on yourself, I'm leaving now!"
"Ah!!!!"
In the blink of an eye, Ning Bei disappeared into the hall, leaving behind a furious Bibi Dong frozen in the ice.
Without saying a word, Ning Bei enjoyed the lingering warmth in his arms, whistling as he made his way back to the hotel booked by the Tiandou Empire for the academies.
He didn't disturb anyone and went straight to Dugu Yan's room.
"Back already? Did the Pope need anything from you?"
The woman who opened the door looked at Ning Bei with bright eyes and then asked about his experience at the Spirit Hall.
Of course, Ning Bei couldn't tell the whole truth, especially not when he was still thinking about the Nightlight Soul Bone tonight.
"I traded a soul bone with the Pope. I gave her mine earlier, and this time, she gave me the one I needed."
Dugu Yan didn't ask too many questions. It wasn't something she needed to worry about. However, the strong scent of perfume on Ning Bei made her face darken.
Her self-created soul skill immediately activated, and she used her 361-degree Fatal Soul Grip on her man.
"Exchanging soul bones? I bet it was the Nightlight Soul Bone, right?"
"Awoooooo!"
After a while, Ning Bei, muttering to himself about how Dugu Yan had a dog's nose, rubbed the soft flesh around his waist and said:
"Wasn't it just a little fun sparring with the Pope?"
They did exchange a few rounds, in words—who wouldn't call that sparring?
Dugu Yan glanced at him suspiciously.
"Really?"
"Of course, what, do you think I'd go to the Pope to look at the Nightlight Soul Bone?"
"Hmph, I bet you didn't have the guts!"
After thinking for a while, Dugu Yan realized it didn't make sense. The two titled Douluo from Spirit Hall personally invited her man to meet with the Pope. She had seen it with her own eyes, so she didn't press the issue further.
A look of anticipation then crossed her face.
"Well, do you want to accompany me to absorb the God's Spirit Soul Ring now?"
Ning Bei glanced out the window at the approaching night. Absorbing a soul ring so late? Wouldn't that be wasting time?
He pinched the soft flesh on the sides of her face and grinned mischievously.
"Been a while since we enjoyed the Nightlight Soul Bone together. You don't want to, huh? The soul ring can wait until tomorrow morning, anyway, the competition won't start for a few more days."
Dugu Yan's face flushed red, and she was caught off guard by Ning Bei's sudden change of pace, but she quickly glared at him.
"You only care about the Nightlight Soul Bone!"
Ning Bei rubbed his hands together and took slow steps toward her. She didn't move away.
"Who said that? What about the backflip Star Spirit Cat? Which one do you want to see?"
"Go away, I don't want to see either!"
"Well, you don't get to choose."
