Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Spirit Hall's Pyrrhic Victory

Chapter 222: Spirit Hall's Pyrrhic Victory

On the high platform, the Ghost Douluo and Chrysanthemum Douluo once again let out a sharp, screeching cry.

"Hao Tian Hammer?"

"Moreover, with Blue Silver Grass and Hao Tian Hammer, this guy is..."

Bibi Dong calmly observed everything happening, knowing Tang San's identity long ago. However, she hadn't expected him to reveal the Hao Tian Hammer so publicly, just for the sake of winning the match.

"Your Majesty, should we..."

Yue Guan's ambiguous face revealed a sinister look as he cupped his hands towards Bibi Dong.

Bibi Dong thought for a moment before letting out a soft sigh.

"Let's wait until the competition ends."

"Understood, Your Majesty."

The Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo retreated in response, their gazes towards Tang San now resembling those of people looking at corpses.

Ning Fengzhi and Jian, after exchanging a glance, saw the shock in each other's eyes.

"Fengzhi, this kid is Tang Hao's son, right?"

Ning Fengzhi nodded in agreement with Chen Xin's view, his eyes glancing over at Ning Be, noticing that his expression hadn't changed. He then knew this was all part of his son's plan, and he finally relaxed.

"Bei'er must have arranged everything, we don't need to worry."

Tang San was disappointed when he saw Xie Yue hadn't fallen off the stage. In his plan, this surprise attack should have directly sent him off the stage.

He hadn't expected that even after revealing the Hao Tian Hammer, he hadn't achieved the result he wanted.

Hu Liena anxiously glanced at her brother, seeing him slowly get up and spit out a mouthful of blood before she breathed a small sigh of relief. Her gaze then turned colder as she looked at Tang San.

"Third Soul Skill: Fox Demon Transformation."

"First Soul Skill: Fox Fire Order."

No matter what Tang San had done to make her fifth soul skill ineffective, she couldn't afford to use any more mental-based skills. If the highly praised Spirit Hall team couldn't even make it to the final match, Hu Liena couldn't imagine the ridicule they would face.

She now just wanted to deal with this troublesome opponent quickly.

"Fourth Soul Skill: Strength, First Soul Skill: Slash."

Xie Yue evidently had the same idea. After getting back on his feet, he activated his soul skills and rushed directly at Tang San.

Tang San could only swing the Hao Tian Hammer in a chaotic fashion to deal with the two of them. However, facing two Soul Kings at once was a tough task for him, and he was often forced to sacrifice one defense for another.

Before long, he had accumulated multiple burns and slash wounds.

At this point, Tang San had not forgotten the Great Teacher's advice: always remain calm and analyze your opponent's weaknesses.

With his feet stepping in Ghost Shadow, the Hao Tian Hammer's swings created a whistling sound, making Xie Yue and Hu Liena hesitant to act recklessly, afraid Tang San might exchange an injury for an injury.

Once the effect of the Ox and Horse's Fury faded from Tang San's body, his momentum dropped again, and only then did they increase their attack frequency.

Faced with the coordinated onslaught of the two Soul Kings, Tang San struggled to find a good countermeasure and was slowly forced into the corner of the arena. He was blasted off the stage by the explosive force of the Fox Fire Order.

After the referee announced the result, the two siblings let out a deep sigh of relief and immediately called for their teammates to be carried off for treatment.

The Great Teacher looked at the dejected Tang San, patted his shoulder in comfort, and his teammates expressed their respect for him. Despite being a Soul Sovereign, Tang San had managed to endure for so long under the siege of two Soul Kings. That alone was something to be proud of.

"You little monsters, don't hang your heads. The average age of our Shrek team is, apart from the Imperial Fighting Team, the youngest. Many of you will be eligible for the next Soul Master competition. I'm proud of your performance."

Seeing the mood of his students sinking, Flender comforted them. Even the usually stingy Flender had decided to treat everyone to a feast at the Drunken Immortal Tavern.

The first to recover his spirits was Fatty. He hadn't really cared much about winning the championship; he was just happy to make a name for himself.

After all, this final soul fusion skill had certainly let him make his presence known. What was there to be dissatisfied about?

"Not bad, Dean, has the iron tree finally blossomed?"

"Little brat, ease up on the punches!"

"By the way, Master, are we going to watch the finals tomorrow?"

On the way to the hotel, Fatty curiously asked again. He also wanted to know the outcome between the Spirit Hall team and the Imperial Fighting Team.

The Great Teacher thought for a moment before nodding.

"Sure, it's good to watch. They're among the best of your generation. Watching their battle will only help you in your future development."

"Then Master, who do you think will win the championship?"

Hearing Fatty's question, everyone turned their attention to the Great Teacher, eager to hear his thoughts.

"Hmm, that's hard to say. Many of Spirit Hall's team members were injured today. If they don't recover properly, it will be hard for them to match the Imperial Fighting Team."

"But the Spirit Hall team's soul masters shouldn't be underestimated. If they recover to their peak by tomorrow's match, they still have a chance."

"At that time, the Imperial Fighting Team won't have a method to deal with the martial soul fusion skills. Spirit Hall's chances will be greater."

The Shrek team nodded in agreement. For some reason, they all seemed to hope for the Spirit Hall team to win. Even Tang San, who had a deep grudge against Spirit Hall, thought the same.

Perhaps it was because Ning Rongrong and the others, being the same age as them, didn't want to fall behind.

As they waited for dinner at the hotel, Tang San pulled the Great Teacher aside to a quiet place.

"Master, my Hao Tian Hammer has been exposed. Should I leave Spirit Hall City today?"

The Great Teacher smiled lightly, shaking his head in reassurance.

"I have some connections with the Pope of Spirit Hall. She won't harm you. Moreover, they are the hosts of this tournament. If they were to target a genius contestant, the continent would look down on them."

Hearing this, Tang San relaxed, his eyes filled with anticipation. He couldn't wait to see how the Imperial Fighting Team would break Spirit Hall's martial soul fusion skill.

The Great Teacher, believing that Bibi Dong wouldn't harm Tang San, thought back to when she had once spoken about sending someone to assassinate him. Yet, his disciple had made it safely to Spirit Hall City.

He felt his heart soften, realizing that Bibi Dong might still care about him. The harsh words she spoke earlier were likely just to provoke him, and he had categorized her ambiguous relationship with Ning Be as part of that.

Now that the competition was over, he was certain that Bibi Dong would spare Tang San for his sake.

It was an extremely confident thought, but Bibi Dong indeed wouldn't dare directly harm Tang San. However, it wasn't because of the Great Teacher—she was simply careful not to strike him for her own reasons.

With the rise of the sun and the setting of the moon, the new day had arrived. The final battle of the Continental Soul Master Tournament was about to take place.

Spirit Hall Team vs. Tiandou Royal Academy Team 2.

The audience poured into the venue early to get the best seats, now that there was no longer the distraction of the "fart king" to worry about.
