Chapter 313: The Star Luo Defense Formation
As the flames dissipated, there was no trace of Dai Tianhua and ZhuYunlu to be found, as they had clearly vanished along with the flames into the world.
"Damn it, this little girl really has a vicious heart. We surrendered, why did she have to go for the kill?"

Qiu´er below the city walls laughed so hard she nearly shook apart, as if hearing some kind of joke.
"You think I'm playing house with you? Surrender and not die? If I were really heartless, I would have just let the beast tide devour you all, why bother with this game of challenge?"
Hearing this direct mockery from a woman, Dai Tianyu nearly ground his teeth in frustration. His fists clenched tightly, nails digging into his palms. After a long time, he ordered his ministers:
"Activate the city's protective formation."
"Your Majesty, the protective formation can only be activated once," the official hesitated.
"Hmph, do you think I don't know that? Whether Star Luo can survive this disaster is still uncertain. Go quickly, or it will be too late."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
The official, not daring to delay, hurriedly ran down from the city tower.
As Dai Tianyu whispered with the official, Qiu´er slowly stopped smiling. A cold glint flickered in her eyes. She could feel the soul beasts behind her were getting restless, but she was done playing. It was time to break through the city.
"Go ahead, little ones, break through the city and let this rotten empire perish."
"Roar!"
Without the Beast King Qiu´er's restraint, the long-suppressed soul beasts were all excited, their eyes turning bloodshot. The flying soul beasts that had been circling in the sky took the lead, charging straight towards Star Luo City.
Outside the city, the sound of thousands of beasts running was like a storm, creating a magnificent spectacle.
"Aren't we going to stop them? If the beast tide breaks into Star Luo City, there will be unnecessary slaughter," Da Ming asked, looking at Ning Bei with confusion as the beast tide continued to surge.

Da Ming raised an eyebrow. He had thought Ning Bei was a bit of a soft-hearted person, but now he saw a much colder side. Still, he agreed. Slaughtering only the defense of Star Luo City was definitely less damaging than letting the beast tide rampage through the entire empire.
Just as they were talking, the faster-moving soul beasts had reached the city walls. Whether flying or ground-based, they attacked the defending soldiers without hesitation.
But something strange happened. The charging soul beasts that were diving or rushing toward the city walls seemed to have hit an invisible wall. They were quickly repelled and fell to the ground, kicking up clouds of dust. The beasts looked confused, glancing around as if trying to understand what had just attacked them.
"Oh? Star Luo has a defense formation?" Ning Bei raised an eyebrow. The defensive array of Star Luo was similar to his Glorious Wall, but its power was not as great, which surprised him a little.
"Well, what now? Do you want me to break it for you?"
"No rush, let's observe for a while."
Up on the city walls, Dai Tianyu felt a small sense of relief as he saw the beast tide unable to break through the array. This was a protective soul guide artifact left behind by their ancestors, installed at the top of the empire's central tower. It was only used in times of life and death, and once activated, it enveloped the entire Star Luo City in a defensive formation. However, each use wore down the soul guide, which made him uncomfortable, but with the current situation, he had no choice.
Watching the beast tide continuously charge against the protective array, repeatedly being repelled but stubbornly pushing forward, Dai Tianyu grew anxious, fearing the array would fail if its energy ran out.
"Little girl, I advise you to give up. This is Star Luo's national protector artifact. You will never break it. Even a hundred-thousand-year soul beast would not be able to break through the defense."
The soldiers around him didn't know the full story and believed, as the Emperor had said, that the formation was invincible. The cheering on the city walls was deafening.

"Impenetrable by beasts!"
Dai Tianyu's provocation irritated Qiu´er. It was just a broken formation, what was there to be so smug about? There were plenty of hundred-thousand-year soul beasts here. She could handle it herself.
Seeing Qiu´er prepare to unleash her true form to break the formation, Ning Bei quickly waved to BAh Bao.
"Qiu´er's true form is better kept hidden from the public. Let BAh Bao handle the formation."
BAh Bao nodded and quickly walked over to Qiu´er, shaking his head.
Qiu´er paused for a moment, then turned and saw Ning Bei behind her. Her eyes brightened, and she gave him a confused look, seemingly asking why he didn't want her to take action.
Ning Bei didn't answer, just slightly shook his head, signaling for her to leave the job of breaking the formation to BAh Bao.
Qiu´er was a little frustrated but didn't argue with Ning Bei. She nodded at the big guy beside her.
"Go ahead, be quick. The thugs up there are too arrogant."
Upon hearing this, BAh Bao grinned and took a few steps back, then transformed into his true form.
"Roar!"
The commanding battle cry echoed in front of Star Luo City, making the soul beasts that were charging at the formation stop in their tracks. They looked at BAh Bao with fear, slowly stepping aside to clear a wide path.
"An Dark Gold Terror Claw Bear?"
Dai Tianyu was shocked. Unlike the ordinary soldiers, he was familiar with the Dark Gold Terror Claw Bear, a beast that could rival a hundred-thousand-year soul beast even at ten thousand years of age. He wasn't sure how powerful the one before him was, but judging by its terrifying size, it was at least near a hundred thousand years of age.
With this realization, Dai Tianyu's heart sank. His legs began to tremble under his jade robe. He had a premonition that the proud defense array would not be able to stop this beast.
"Prepare to face the enemy."
No one responded to the Emperor. The surrounding guards were all staring in shock at the nearly 30-meter-tall giant bear. If it stood upright, it could almost deliver a blow with its claws to the city walls.
"Prepare to face the enemy! Stop standing there like fools!" Dai Tianyu angrily shouted at the paralyzed soldiers. His shout seemed to wake them from their stupor, and they hurriedly returned to their posts.
BAh Bao, seeing that the soul beasts had cleared a path to the city gates, didn't hesitate any longer. With a terrifying burst of strength, he rushed toward the gates, resembling a heavily armored vehicle on full throttle.
"Now, let's see how you feel about being dominated by soul beasts!"
