"I'll find Kelvin," he said, already moving
—---------------------
Kelvin was in the eastern construction zone when the runner found him.
He'd taken on Lyra's administrative coordination naturally over the past few days — not because anyone had formally assigned it to him, but because someone needed to do it and Kelvin understood systems well enough to hold things together. He'd been reviewing the new hobgoblin construction crew's progress, a clipboard of notes in hand, when the settlement guard appeared with a simple message.
Lord Satou requests you immediately.
He found Satou at the command post, and the first thing he noticed was that something about the demon lord was different. Not urgent-different. Not crisis-different.
Happy-different.
Genuinely, unreservedly happy, in a way Kelvin had seen rarely since the war ended.
"Lord Satou," he said. "What's happened?"
