Jessica was running a specific diagnostic — the measurement series she'd developed over the past three weeks for tracking the child's formation rate.
"Week on week comparison," she said, reading the results. "The formation rate is thirty-one percent faster than last week's measurement."
Morgana looked at this.
"Week-on-week increase of thirty-one percent," she said. "If that rate is sustained—"
"The development timeline compresses significantly," Lyra said. "What's the implication for the birth timeline."
The two of them exchanged a look that said they'd been discussing this between sessions.
"If the development rate maintains its current acceleration," Morgana said, "the birth may come closer to seven months than nine." She held Lyra's gaze. "This is a very early estimate. It could stabilize. It could accelerate further. I don't have enough data points yet to project with confidence."
"You have enough data points to know it's not standard," Lyra said.
