"Speak, what's been bothering you?"
I asked Yichen as I cornered him in our room against the wall. He seemed thrown off guard by my question, so he looked at me with wide, stunned eyes.
It wasn't so hard to see him jittering off balance during breakfast with the others. It was like his mind wasn't there, and he was spacing out a lot. Even when Han Lei was making a jest of him, it was like he was a blank, unreachable wall.
"Nothing." He replied in a clipped tone, and I frowned.
He doesn't want to speak, right? Hmmm, the only person that could make the Tyrant bothered like this was only one person.
"Was this about Zhu Ri?" His brow jumped.
So that was it. I frowned, the name sounded like bile and it took an amount of effort to pull it out of me. But it turned out that I was correct. We were still yet to confirm what really happened between them and why Zhu Ri returned with a child so identical to him.
