Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: The Broken House Training Base

After returning to the classroom, Izuku Midoriya and Tenya Iida stood on the podium.

"Well then, let's choose the other class committee members next. However, before that, I have something to say," Izuku Midoriya said nervously.

Tenya Iida stood beside Izuku Midoriya, looking at him with some confusion. Although the classmates might not be very familiar with each other yet, there was no need to be this nervous.

Everyone was looking at Izuku Midoriya, wondering what he wanted to say.

Finally, Izuku Midoriya made up his mind and said to everyone, "I think it would be better for Tenya Iida to be the class monitor."

Tenya Iida was stunned and looked at Izuku Midoriya in surprise. He hadn't expected Midoriya to say such a thing. Actually, he could have just been the vice-monitor; there really was no need to be the monitor.

"He can bring everyone together so impressively. I think it's best to let Iida-kun take on this position," Izuku Midoriya said, no longer nervous by the end.

"I think that's a great idea. Midoriya himself said that Iida's performance in the cafeteria was indeed outstanding." Eijiro Kirishima completely agreed with what Izuku Midoriya had said. He had seen it all at the time. "Besides, I feel like he's become one with the emergency exit sign."

"What a waste of time. Whatever, just get it over with quickly," Shota Aizawa, still wrapped in his yellow sleeping bag, stood up and said to Izuku Midoriya.

Tenya Iida took a deep breath, looked at everyone, and said, "Since the class monitor nominated me, I have no choice. I, Tenya Iida, promise to fulfill my duties as class monitor with all my heart."

"Then we'll leave it to you, Emergency Exit!" Eijiro Kirishima laughed.

"Emergency Exit Iida, do a good job."

"Also, let Yaoyorozu-san be the vice-class monitor," Izuku Midoriya added.

"Huh? Why am I the vice-class monitor?" Momo Yaoyorozu looked at Izuku Midoriya in confusion.

"Since I'm no longer the class monitor, you'll naturally be promoted to vice-class monitor. After all, you were right after Iida-kun," Izuku Midoriya said with a smile before stepping down from the podium. Momo Yaoyorozu had no choice but to go up and stand with Tenya Iida.

Actually, this was what she had thought in her heart, though it was a bit regrettable that she couldn't become the class monitor. But no matter what, Tenya Iida was the best choice for class monitor.

After school, Yang Xiao went to the Broken House as usual. It had been a very fulfilling day. He got up in the morning to run, then went to school. After school, he had no time to rest and had to work at the Broken House.

But going to school was a break for Yang Xiao, and it was relatively relaxing at the moment, even though there were a few classmates who were always keeping an eye on him.

"Xiao Yang, the Broken House has encountered some troubles recently, so we need to discuss it with you in advance."

As soon as Yang Xiao entered the Broken House, Wu Shiyin walked over with a serious expression.

"What trouble?" Yang Xiao noticed that a lot had been happening at the Broken House lately, with troubles arising all the time.

"Pull down the shutter door and come in to talk," Wu Shiyin said, turning and walking into the inner room. Yang Xiao followed after pulling down the shutter door.

When they reached the core area, Du Wo was sitting in her seat looking at documents. She had more free time daily than Yang Xiao, so her work experience had caught up now, and she was much better than before when she used to make mistakes.

"Du Wo, take a break for a moment. I have something to discuss with both of you," Wu Shiyin clapped his hands and said to the two of them.

"You guys chat first. I still have some things to deal with; I'll come over in a few minutes," Toga said to Gin as she looked around the house.

"Okay, then Xiao Yang, let's go in and talk first," Wu Shiyin said, leading the way into a small room. There were only four chairs inside, making it look like a place specifically for conversations.

"Take a seat," Wu Shiyin gestured to Yang Xiao. After Yang Xiao sat down, Wu Shiyin looked at him and said, "Recently, an assassin organization has been targeting our Broken House, but they don't know our exact location. So, we must strike first before they find us."

"What the hell? Are we fighting with an assassin organization again?" Yang Xiao said speechlessly. "How can I help? All I can do is report in real-time."

"No, from now on, you need to undergo training from the Broken House. Otherwise, when a crisis comes, you and Du Wo will be the ones to die. I don't want that to happen to you."

Wu Shiyin's words stunned Yang Xiao. He had thought the Broken House would train them, but he hadn't expected it to happen so soon.

"Do you mean I'll have to participate in missions later?" Yang Xiao asked with a frown.

Wu Shiyin noticed Yang Xiao's frown and said patiently, "I know what you're thinking. After all, you're a student and don't want to get involved in this kind of thing. I understand that. But if you want to survive in this society, you need some skills."

"I accept. Then when does it start?" Since Wu Shiyin had already said so, Yang Xiao naturally agreed. One of his purposes in coming to the core of the Broken House was to train and strengthen himself.

But Yang Xiao couldn't appear too eager, as if he really wanted the Broken House to train him, or else Wu Shiyin would definitely suspect him.

Wu Shiyin hadn't expected Yang Xiao to agree so quickly. Normally, students wouldn't have such courage. However, after thinking about it, Wu Shiyin felt relieved. It was basically impossible to remain unscathed after joining the core of the Broken House.

So, the only way was to improve your own strength—it was inevitable.

At this time, Du Wo also came in. Wu Shiyin repeated what he had said to Yang Xiao earlier, and Du Wo also agreed.

Since Yang Xiao had agreed, she had no reason to disagree because she knew she could only be stronger than Yang Xiao, not weaker.

"In that case, let's go to the training ground. Don't underestimate the power of the Broken House," Wu Shiyin chuckled, stood up, and asked Yang Xiao and Du Wo to follow him.

After leaving the Broken House, the three of them walked through the alley for a while. After passing a smelly ditch, Wu Shiyin came to a house of only about ten square meters—very ordinary and shabby.

"Gin-san, why did you bring us here?" Toga had no idea why Gin had brought them here. This obviously didn't seem like a place for training.

"You'll know in a moment," Wu Shiyin smiled, took a set of keys from his pocket, and opened the iron gate in front of them. After the three of them entered, they found another iron gate on the ground.

Yang Xiao immediately understood—the structure here was the same as the Broken House, with secret places all underground.

Realizing this, both Du Wo and Yang Xiao felt that the Broken House was truly powerful. At the very least, it was amazing that it could hide in such places within real society.
